Walk A Mile In Her Shoes
Accuracy in Academia ^ | March 20, 2012 | Deborah Lambert

Spring had barely sprung on the campus of Mississippi State University this year when some 400 pairs of high heels were heard clicking around the campus, according to mensactivism.org. They belonged to Mississippi State men, who were pressured to walk around campus wearing high heels as part of a rape awareness event, “funded by a $300,000 grant to the university under the Violence against Women Act.”

Fortunately, there were only four rapes on this campus from 2005 to 2010 – hardly an epidemic. Nevertheless, the grant money was used to flood the campus with preventive education information. In the campus bathrooms, for example, were flyers bearing the message that: “One in four women will be raped in their lifetime,” a much-repeated statistic of doubtful authenticity.

The annual routine of the men clickety clacking around in high heels for Rape Awareness Week is not unique to Mississippi State. It is replicated on campuses every spring from Hawaii to Wisconsin.

I’m glad the taxpayers have some much money that the bureaucrats can throw it away.

So a potential rapist will not rape if he wears high heels?
That maybe one of the most idiotic things I have ever heard.
Rape is about power not shoes.

The Left just keeps outdoing the limits of stupidity.

I’m shocked that college men aren’t already required to squat when they pee.

Who wants women to were high heels? So far as I know this is a decision women make for themselves. I’m 62 years old and have never been asked for nor felt the need to offer advice to a woman regarding her footwear.

If high heels are a problem, stop wearing them. Most men won’t even notice. How infantile must people think women are that they need permission from men to stop crippling themselves.

But what about the men? I guess their abuse doesn’t count:

....

But men also reported being victimized in surprising numbers.

One in seven men have experienced severe violence at the hands of an intimate partner, the survey found, and one in 71 men — between 1 percent and 2 percent — have been raped, many when they were younger than 11.

Any guy walking around in those shoes might as well have his nuts cut off.

Just my opinion. Yours may vary.

The left is subtly waging a war on the whole idea of gender. That’s the whole point here.

If we had a genderless society, we aren’t going to be treating each other better. Quite the opposite.

Sheer stupidity. Even women don’t really wear high heels anymore. What’s next, forcing college guys to cross dress?

On the other hand, if the WOMEN had chosen to wear heels as a way of calling attention to the problem of campus rapes, it might have been an effective tactic.

I don’t get why these groups can’t focus on their core mission and just leave the gender-bending over-the-top crap out of it. It works against their own interests.

This is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. Seriously, our country is doomed. This is the new normal and we are truly circling the drain as a country. Every SINGLE day, I read of more stupidy like this.

I agree. I also think these “boys” are doing it so the girls will see them and give them what “boys” have wanted since time began, without having to rape. When you think about, they hope the outcome will be the same, whether they are wearing the high heels or she is. Still, that’s why I call them boys. Men would never do this.

They may have to find another school. Non-participation can carry some serious penalties.

400 pairs of high heels - funded by a $300,000 federal grant!

That’s $750 per pair, so they must have a few quid left over.

I wonder how they’ll blow the rest of the grant?

(And folks, there are no ear-marks, just solid issues based required spending!)
