Obama fearing a revolution against him by the states, has moved swiftly by nationalizing nearly all National Guard Forces in multiple states; Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Minnesota, Tennessee, Virginia, Louisiana, South Carolina – to name a few. The Governors of the Great States of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia still have under their Command-and-Control the State Defense Forces to go against U.S. Federal forces should the need arise. Also important to note: There are NO U.S. laws prohibiting National Guard troops from also joining their State’s Defense Forces. This dilemma occurred during the Civil War with many “citizen soldiers” choosing to serve their states instead of the Federal Government.
Obama is angered by the several State Governors who have reestablished “State Defense Forces.” These forces are described as: “State Defense Forces (also known as State Guards, State Military Reserves, State Militias) in the United States are military units that operate under the sole authority of a state government; they are not regulated by the National Guard Bureau nor are they part of the Army National Guard of the United States. State Defense Forces are authorized by state and federal law and are under the command of the governor of each state. State Defense Forces are distinct from their state’s National Guard in that they cannot become federal entities.”
Mr. Obama is fearful of these State Defense Forces, in that he does not have control of said forces, and with the U.S. Military stretched to near breaking from multiple deployments and theatre actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, these State military forces would be under the direct command and authority of the Governors in which states have said forces. In essence, the Governors would have “de facto control” of the United States.

You are 100% correct.
Jackson reads a message from Abraham Lincoln advising the state of Virginia to raise a body of troops, in case any states choose to rebel against the federal government.
Jackson stops reading the message, looks out at the men before him and says, "Tell Mr. Lincoln, we have done so!"
You got that right. The VDF is barely a step above the Boy Scouts. In some cases, the Boy Scouts would have the upper hand. It's a shame because there are many retired colonels and generals in Old Dominion who could whip them in to shape (old school style) if they had the blessings of the Governor and the General Assembly.
The lack of *relevant* citations in this article make it effectively meaningless. National Guard units have been actively involved in recent combat actions since Gulf War I under George H.W. Bush. To do so they have been put under federal command.
In fact, part of the 10th Amendment Movement is that in several states, they are so tired of their Guard being perpetually deployed that they want it returned. If the US military needs more personnel, it should hire more personnel, not loot the states for hot bodies.
But there is nothing new about this, other than Obama, at the request of the Pentagon, named the national commander of the National Guard to the Joint Chiefs. With the end of the Iraq and Afghanistan occupations, he will spend most of his time with TRADOC, just making sure that the NG are standardized and functional nationwide. No easy task.
There's the rub, right? When I lived in Northern Virginia, a "Major" in VDF tried to recruit me. I was unimpressed. It is obvious it is really just a volunteer labor and support organization, and NOT a funded and sanctioned "defense force".
It's a shame, too, because you're right. The squared away veteran officers and NCOs in VA could whip up a fine defense force if allowed.

While on your knees thanking him, don’t forget to thank his father GHW Bush for the Americans With Disabilities Act which has forced small businesses to close, raised costs for everyone, and basically made life miserable for most.
And, of course, don’t forget to give everloving praise to Richard Nixon, who, in many ways, has made the current $4 and $5 gas possible. Without his divine insights we would have drilled our way out of this mess decades ago.

South Dakota does not currently have State Guard units. But its legal code, SDCL 33-14, provides for forming such units. And with a significant veteran population, physically filling these units would not be difficult. So if necessary, old men would answer one last call to duty with boys probably answering their first call to duty.
With the D.C. jackasses hell-bent on creating Great Depression II and WWIII, the Several States and their citizens should start looking seriously at their State Guard capability.

Well, I can give you an "unsupported affirmation" on this. I read in the last year that Obama had done another one of his EOs which asserted federal control over the state national guards, and raised some eyebrows at that time. As well as I can remember, the source was a good, legitimate source, not some half wit blog. But, I can't remember the source. So, I agree, this point needs to be researched and verified. But I believe there is good reason to take it seriously.
As I recall the history, when we went to an all volunteer force in the post-VietNam era, and placed increasing reliance on the USAR and ARNG, it was primarily the governors who were insistent on keeping the ARNG as combat arms unit (Infantry/Armor/Artillery etc.) and leaving the combat support and service support units in the Reserves. I think it had something to do with the funding attached.
Do you seriously think that any Republican governors would fail to raise a major (and loud) stink if Obama were to infringe upon their own powers. Governors guard their powers zealously.
It appears this drive of the feds to assert more control over the NG has been going on some time. Sadly, the Republicans are just as complicit as the Dems in this.. Here is a useful piece on the subject from 2007:

In answer to that, he's been usurping state powers with EOs for 3-1/2 years. Also, the congress has been doing its share of it. I don't see that what protesting I've heard has done much good.
Specifically, though, I do recall him doing something to peel away another layer of state control regarding the NG. If I have time, maybe I can find it. My post #33 does add a little more information on the whole subject.
All this possible bloodshed could have been prevented had Obama been properly vetted.
Many politicians from this and the prior administration have a lot to answer for including the GOP’s presidential candidates. They had access to Obama’s personal information.
The latter are keeping silent on this issue. Isn’t it important enough to comment on?
This must be in preparation for Obama cancelling the election in 2012—due to a crisis of some sort. Terrorist attack maybe in October? Move on traitors who do not obey Obama’s dictates as presented by the MSM. Look to see internet closed, Radio stations seized—the arrest of Rush, Sarah Palin, hanity, Reagan, etc... Hate speech will be banned from the airwaves.

Given that the Governors of several States are named the Commander in Chief of [their State’s] National Guard by their State Constitution (ex: NM), neither the Senators nor the Representatives of such have the authority to cede that authority to the President.
The POTUS office means nothing and is a joke when people like the Clintons and the Obamas are in the office. We need a strong and courageous adult in that office who cares about America and her people which the Clintons and the Obamas clearly do not.
I have always thought obama was there illegally.
And Sheriff Joe has ultimate authority over all of them.
