“Dangerous Dick” Lugar and the Marxist Led “Peace” PAC

Veteran Indiana GOP senator Richard Lugar, faces a serious primary challenge this election cycle.

Every patriotic American should be praying that “Dangerous Dick’” is soundly defeated and is never elected, or appointed, to any form of public office again.

Richard Lugar is not merely a leftist Republican – there are plenty of those. ”Dangerous Dick” is in a league all of his own.

What makes Lugar so dangerous is his long standing ties to an anti-American Marxist led “peace” Political Action Committee, which has campaigned to cut US military preparedness and defense capabilities for 50 years.

The New START Disarmament Treaty with Moscow passed the Senate in late December 2010, 71 votes to 26.

Several Republicans voted with the Democrats and Independents, despite strong pressure from the GOP grassroots to vote against it.

There is no question that Richard Lugar as co-leader, with far leftist Democrat John Kerry of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was the leading Republican in favor of the treaty and must ultimately take responsibility for its ratification.

Leftist journalist and member of the infamous JournoList, Spencer Ackerman wrote in The Washington Independent:

In the spirit of self-criticism, something that I see my New START coverage has taken for granted is the support of Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.), the leading arms-control baron on the Republican side in the Senate…

Lugar is firmly behind the Obama administration’s new treaty to reduce the U.S.-Russian nuclear stockpile and the deployed systems that can deliver those deadly payloads. So if you assume every Democratic senator will vote for the treaty when it comes up for ratification, Lugar’s vote brings the count to 60. The question is whether Lugar’s vote can bring along seven other Republicans.

In the end, Lugar convinced more than enough Republicans to vote for a treaty that was enthusiastically backed by the Democrats, Russians, Socialist International and the Communist Party USA.

How is it that a GOP Senator from Republican stronghold Indiana could be such a life-long proponent of disarmament treaties?

In my view, the answer lies in Lugar’s long time connection to the Council for a Livable World.

Founded in 1962 by Manhattan Project nuclear scientist, leftist and reported Soviet agent, Leo Szilard, and led by long time Socialist Party USA/Democratic Socialists of America affiliate Jerome Grossman and more lately senior Democrat Congressman turned D.S.A. member David Bonior. Council for a Livable World is the US’ leading pro-disarmament lobby group/PAC.

The CLW has funded hundreds of US Senators and Congressmen in its history, almost all Democrats. In recent years, Lugar has been the only Republican to receive C.L.W. largess.

C.L.W.’s long time CEO, Jerome Grossman, claims that by funding Senators at the beginning of their careers, the C.L.W. was able to influence them later when needed.

Now Council for a Livable World is playing the money game… We try to find obscure people who would make good Senators or Representatives and early on try to give them the initial funding. Now we can’t compete with the big money. We only raise a million and a half each election cycle. But that’s a million and a half that has no cost to them. Because we get in early, and because it’s tied to issues, seems to have some kind of an effect. Then if we elect somebody they’re eternally grateful. Then we go and we are able to get a hearing.

While a token amount, Jerome Grossman (on behalf of C.L.W.) did donate to Lugar’s campaign in the 1999/2000 election cycle. more at link......

I would strongly encourage any of you lucky enough to live in Indiana to vote for and otherwise support Richard Mourdock in the May 8th primary.

For those of us who live in other states, we can donate to show our support. I’m not in a position to donate much (I donated $50 and will try to do more later) but that, in combination with many others doing the same, can lead to a defeat of “Obama’s Favorite Republican” in the primary and a victory of a true conservative (Richard Mourdock) this November. That would be a significant step toward a truly conservative led Senate.

FYI..last week a poll ( done by a Dem pollsters for the Dem candidate) showed Lugar leading Mourdock, but by ONLY 6 pts..

One must question this to some extent, , as obviosuly the Dems believe they have a chance at the seat ONLY if Mourdock wins...but I think it spells BIG trouble for Lugar..

I would venture that 6 points is name recognition alone. We desperately need to get the word out to our fellow conservatives who may not follow his voting record and Washington alliances closely.

Mourdock has been running some great ads pointing out Lugar hasn’t lived in the state in 30 years. It was just ruled that he isn’t even eligible to vote. Hope Mourdock runs that one soon!

I didn’t know about that. I hope that Richard Mourdock knows about it. Of all the TEA Party candidates challenging RINO’s in Republican primaries, Mourdock’s election is the most important.

I think the LAST thing the Dems want is for Mourdock to win in the primary since he’d go on to a landslide victory in the November election (as would Lugar, of course). If Lugar wins reelection it would be for his FINAL term as Senator. With no reelection (and its associated potential for a primary challenger) to worry about, Lugar would be free to go all in as a RINO/CINO. He’d make Murkowski look like a right wing extremist.

A US SENATOR Mourdock, on the other hand, would be a nightmare to the Dems (and to the CINO Republican establishment led by the ineffectual McConnell).

There are so many things the public does not know about the man who sits in the White House. Who is Barack Obama? In my search to find out the answers I embarked on a journey that has lasted three years and counting — and nearly made my head explode.

As usual, when Obama is the subject, Americans can’t count on the progressives in the Corporate Mainstream Media (CMM) for much help. So, what’s one to do? The foreign press proved helpful. Therefore, gleaned from the foreign press: a few stories which didn’t rate any coverage from the U.S. CMM.

In 2005, then-Senator Barack Obama went on a mission to Russia with Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN). The newly-minted U.S. senator was invited to be part of a Russian fact-finding tour that inspected a nuclear weapons site in Perm, Siberia. The base Lugar and Obama visited was where mobile launch missiles were being destroyed under the Cooperative Threat Reduction program (CTR), which also went by the name of the Nunn-Lugar program.

What happened next — after the inspections were over — was at the time reported by several foreign news sources but was never reported in the USA by the CMM. The Russians detained Obama and Lugar for three hours at the airport, demanding to examine both Obama’s and Lugar’s passports and search their plane. Some sources reported that the Russians accused Barack Obama of being a spy.
