Mending Fences

Now that the dust is settling in the Republican candidate stakes, it looks like Mitt will be our nominee. And I’m fine with that. Really. I am.

After four years of President Downgrade, we will need to do some fast damage control if we hope to regain even a bit of our former standing in the world community. With that in mind, I have several suggestions for actions President Romney can take very soon after he is sworn in:

1.Contact someone in England and suggest that, because of the very special relationship that exists between the two countries, we’d really love to have that bust of Churchill back and proudly displayed in the White House.

2.Issue an invitation to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to a White House state dinner in his honor. Allow him to dine with the guests.

3.Ditto the Dalai Lama. Allow him to enter and exit by the front door.

4.Make sure there is a fully-staffed Protocol office, and that they actually know what they are doing regarding things like vetting guests at state dinners and choosing special gifts for foreign dignitaries...

If the Republican party can only nominate RINOs then that’s how we should vote. Better a slow train to socialism than a scramjet.

Make sure there is a fully-staffed Protocol office, and that they actually know what they are doing regarding things like vetting guests at state dinners and choosing special gifts for foreign dignitaries.

Make sure you know how to pronounce military jargon… like “corpsman”.
Start practicing now so that you can throw a baseball from the pitcher’s mound across home plate. Bonus points if you don’t wear mom jeans while doing so.

Call a spade a spade: Drop the stupid “kinetic military action”, “overseas contingency operation”, “man-made disasters”, jargon and call them wars, terrorists, etc.

From the time of your election to the day of your inauguration, don’t begin your transition using the non-existent position of ”Office of the President-Elect”. And definitely don’t design a seal for this non-existent office.

And please, whatever else you do, when you accept the nomination at the convention, do not fist-bump Ann.

If you can start off your presidency with these few things, you’ll definitely be on the right track. And I’m fine with that. Really. I am.

Mend fences? When does Romney take responsibility?

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"
George Santayana

FLASHBACK:

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts
in some polls, days prior to Election 2008.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney and
TeamROMNEY and the RNME (Republican National Media Establishment)
decided …to attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.

Romney, and the Van der Sloot RNME RINOs for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

I’m wondering when Mitty is going to get around to the fence mending. He’s the moron who has done nothing but ignore or insult conservatives.

I'm starting to understand Churchill's dilemma when he had to ally himself with Stalin to stop Hitler.

Republican Candidates could improve their Primary vote count by campaigning with the following idea:

Due to the FHA, Fannie and Freddie Bankruptcies of September, 2008, American home owners lost 30 % of the value of their homes. That is a 30 % cut in just one month. Home values are still down 30 %.

Thus, let us cut the total compensation to all elected Federal politicians, and their staffs by 30 %, and an additional 10 % cut to elected Federal politicians each year until Federal Spending is LESS THAN the average of the previous 2 years of Federal income.

BTW, since slightly less than half of the US House, and 2/3 of the US Senate are Millionaires, it will be a great opportunity for Congress to lead by example that EVERYONE should give up their “fair” share of the American Dream.

What better way can there be to demonstrate that Federal politicians are on the same page as the voters?

That is in effect a vote for Obama. Often we are provided with the choice of the lessor of two evils. When Obama wins the next election and begins deconstructing America and our economy with impunity, it will be to late to reconsider the consequences.

Time is the important factor here. In another 4 years we can hope for a better candidate but another 4 of Obama means it will become all the harder.

As bad as four years of Obama sounds, no matter what in that scenario, 2016 would be completely open primary. A President Romney begets 20 more years of RINOism.

My tag line is a Reagan quote. It’s the seminal statement that made me a conservative. Is it right, then, to not vote at all, when you know the greatest wrong will be served by it? I don’t think so.

That’s exactly my way of thinking. Mitt can easily be a placeholder president until West, Rubio, Haley, Christie, Jindal, and the rest of the up-and-comers get some experience under their belts.

Four more years of Obama means (among other things) at least two more liberal Supreme Court justices. This nation will not survive that.

I am NOT fine with it... it sickens me to the core of my soul. It makes me lose almost any hope that I have for the survival of our republic and it has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt about the corruption of our system and just how rotten DC and the two parties have truly become. America gets to choose... if the election is not controlled by the Spanish company that will be gathering and then tallying the votes... they control America's fate more than we know... we have a choice... the absolute worst president to ever sit in the Whitehouse or a lying socialist cultist.

"Better a slow train to socialism than a scramjet."

Thanks for contributing to the ruin of America. It sickens me that we've devolved from a country of rugged settlers to a group of wimpy people willing to settle for anything that keeps them comfortable.

I choose neither the slow train or the jet ... I'll drive my diesel guzzling SUV and stay free, thanks just the same.

I have been hoping someone would throw up a thread like this! I am calling my local election office today to see how I can write in a candidate for the presidential election. Then, when I find out, I will down-ballot conservative, and on the President line I will write, “Nuts!”

The republican party is actively participating in descending this country toward communism by way of socialism. I will not be a willing participant. This election is where I draw the line.

I will send my message with my vote.

I invite others of like mind to do the same. Afterall, a vote for Mitt is a vote for Obama at worst, or at best a continued decline. There is nothing to gain by voting for him, and a constitutional republic to lose.

“NUTS!!!!”

Obama is going to whip Romney like an unfaithful muslim wife and there will be no one to blame but Romney himself.

His whole primary campaign has centered on winning liberal areas while telling conservatives that we’ll like him just fine when he’s all that’s left.
