In his latest column, George Will recommends that presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney choose Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal or Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) as his running mate. He claims that Ryan and Jindal have intellectual firepower, born of immersion in policy complexities, sufficient to refute Obama's meretricious claims and derelictions of duty."
Obviously, Mr. Will has been in the Beltway for far too long. While Congressman Paul Ryan might not be a bad choice, Will has been reading too many Jindal press releases about the supposed reforms inLouisiana.

This should be in activism, Mods.
Thanks, Fly. All of my Jindal rants go unheard on FR. People don’t realize that Jindal is as unvetted as the Won! I scream from the rooftop, “Go to forgotston.com...go to thedeadpelican.com!!”.
Ain’t that SgtBob fast....zzzzzz...asleep ;-)
Jindal is a morn and Will is worse.
Does morn=moron? Jindal is nothing of the such...he is the incarnation of BHO. The media will not report on what he does...they are in the tank for Jindal, just as they are in the tank for hussien.
Bobby Jindal is an improvement over the Democrat mobsters who were running Louisiana earlier. But that’s not saying a whole lot. It’s like saying that Chris Christie is an improvement over Jon Corzine, or that Arnold Schwarzenneger was an improvement over Gray Davis. No, wait. . . .
One day George Will be right.
Can you please elaborate on why you are bashing Jindal, and why you think he’s not a conservative? I have been following Jindal since 2002, and he’s way more conservative than Paul Ryan, or the 4 candidates running for president. Just because the media hates Jindal, you don’t like him? Are you trying to smear every conservative for Romney?
Jindal is not a Mormon. Where are you coming up with this stuff?
Can you please tell me where you come up with this stuff? Jindal has always been a conservative. Christie and Schwarzenegger were never as conservative as Jindal? Who do you think is a conservative? Lincoln Chaffee?
I like Jindal also. I want to hear the explanation.
Conservatism is in the eye of the beholder.
I moved from the democrat dominated state of WV
to the supposed conservative bastion of South
Carolina. I was shocked as to how liberal SC was.
Yet to someone from New York, SC would be conservative
beyond belief.
Gov Foster, nor Jindal have changed one damn thing since Huey P. Long. People keep their damned eyes closed...can’t even see their damned noses, let alone what the hell is happening in Baton Rouge.
To the outside world, the Governor may seem to be quite popular. However, he only received 66 percent of the vote in the last election against no viable competition. He has survived multiple recall efforts and is facing another one filed by disgruntled teachers.
LA's population is 1/3 black. Blacks vote 9 to 1 for Democrats, the party of Santa Claus and racial preferences. Jindal's 66% is pretty all he could have gotten.
A recall effort filed by disgruntled teachers is hardly a black mark for a conservative. It's a sign that Jindal has at least one of the right enemies.
“Jindal is a morn and Will is worse”
Well at least Will is a moron and I like Bobby but he is not a deep thinker and like Rubio he has eligibility issues which we do not need to get embroiled in this year. Why not just pick a slam dunk natural born ciitzen like West, Ryan or McDonnell?
This idiot seems to blame Jindal for Hurricane Katrina:
“Our population is stagnant as we have lost a quarter of our congressional delegation in the last two decades. “
As for his other complaints, how many of these are Jindal’s fault?
“Today in Louisiana, we are facing another fiscal crisis. Job growth is anemic, crime is rampant, poverty is high, our educational system is in shambles, and our road conditions are deplorable.”
Take this assertion: “Governing Magazine just named Louisiana as the most corrupt state in the nation.” Does this mean (A) Jindal’s administration is itself corrupt, or (B), Jindal has managed to what he has despite working in a very difficult environment for a Republican reformer?
And how much is pure bull? The economic crisis hit all states, but in the midst of it, Louisiana RAISED its credit rating; Despite the Obama administration crippling Louisiana’s #1 industry, unemployment never reached 8%, and is well below the national average (1.5% below). Graduation rates are up sharply in the state (from 65% to 71%). This is still somewhat below average, nationally, but adjusted for race, above average... after formerly being one of the lowest in the nation.
I will try to be as succinct as possible; he is not a conservative, and I don’t give a damn if you have been “following him” (as any good lackey would) since 2002. LA has been my home since 1971.
He is NOT hated by the media; they lavish over him just as they do, BHO. They cover for him; they don’t vet him, they Kiss His Arse.
I gotta axe...what the hell does the friggin’ RINO Romney have to do with Jindal?
I agree with you
You’ve been FReepin’ a hell of a lot longer than I...re-read post #7, MORON.
MORON. Misspelled. I recall the big moment for Bobby giving the Republican response to Bambi’s State of the Union address or some such (2011?) and he totally blew it. He’s also winmpy. As a Governor I like Walker from Wisconsin or Kasich from Ohio. At least they are putting their butts on the line for good change, and fight union entitlement Bobby just whines about no drilling in Gulf, no fishing, etc. Just DO it Bobby? Afraid they’ll get mad at you like Sheriff Joe?
Spoken like a true Democrat. I asked you to back up your attack on Jindal, and you can't even bother to make up something. You are attacking a man with names, but you refuse to give even a shred of proof. That sounds like a left wing thing to do to me. All name calling, all emotion, no reason.
Jindal is pro-life & socially conservative. He is fiscally conservative and has been fighting abuses by the unions.
Lavish praise? Do you also believe they lavished praise on Sarah Palin. When he made a major speech a few years ago, he was universally attacked by the media. Even though he is obviously smart, the media tries to claim he was an idiot. I have never see a mainstream media piece on Jindal that wasn't insulting.
Do you hate all conservatives? Which newspaper do you write for?
RE: Teachers protest...Jindal wanted 5 years instead of three for tenure. LET’S GO PROTEST!!!
When I ask for proof, and this is your response, I take that as an admission you were lying. You can't even make up a single accusation that he's not conservative. I'm glad you exposed yourself.
So you want the media to choose who should be Republicans? Do you also think that Romney is too ultraconservative to be president?
I’ll help ya out Cicero...Hey, Nick, your homework assignment is to research post #3 or #4, your choice and report back in 2 hours.
Research post #3, and google John Alerio, please.
WE HAVE TO SUPPORT WHOEVER RUNS AGAINST BAMEY NO MATTER WHAT....period...no question about it....
we have to have some skin in the game to affect change and if bamey wins again, we are out permanently....
All people see, and read of Jindal comes from the MSM, and it is all rosey. I could see Nikki Haley comin’ a mile away. Why can’t people see Jindal.
He is a political genius, just like BHO; he is not a conservative, just like BHO.
Jindal got eligibility?
Who is nickcarraway? Methinks Troll. I asked you to research, and you are just as lazy as Obamites. Don’t reply, a$$hat, as I will not argue with an idiot.
So what’s your beef with Governor Haley?
I have to mostly agree with SgtBob. I have been in LA most of my life.
While Jindal is a vast improvement over what we had, he is NOT what I would call a strong fiscal Conservative. Jindal does not have the desire to be bold on many fiscal matters.
Early in his first term there was a push to get rid of the State Income Tax. Jindal could have latched on and pushed the matter to success. He choose to essentially laugh it off.
There are a day or two each year when taxes are waived on 2nd Amendment purchases -- guns and Ammo. When the bill was presented, I believe the legislature going to offer to double the days for the tax waivers -- Jindal objected. He thought the state would lose too much money.
There are many things that could have pushed us more towards Liberty, but Jindal never pushed the envelope. He just does not see government as inherently evil.
I have studied Sarah extensively, I read all her books and books written about Sarah.
While Jindal has intellectual firepower, he does not have 1/100 the anti-government instinct that Sarah exhibits.
Sarah's libertarian Conservatism is much more aligned with Reagan. She sees government as a necessary evil.
Jindal is more like Paul Ryan, what I call a intellectual Conservative (can speak the philosophy well) but in action they both are at best technocrats who lean right.
I believe Jindal does not have in it in his DNA to ever approach the bold Conservatism held by Reagan and Palin.
You are resident of Louisiana, so it's your right to support Kathleen Blanco and Tara Hollis for governor over Bobby Jindal. But don't expect you can intimidate everyone into your opinion.
Thanks, sand, ‘tis kinda tough to FReep, watch grandkid, and grill Allen Brother’s...
One important thing from his first term...he was going to allow the legislature to give themselves a permanent annual payraise by not signing the bill, nor vetoing it. The people raised hell, and in the last hour he had no choice but to veto.
One important thing from this term is that he pushed the senate to name unindicted co-conspirator to Edwin Edwards, John Alario, Jr. hardcore demorat, to be the senate president.
You may need new eye glasses? The only thing similar between Jindal & Obama is the hue of their skin color. Jindal did not spend 20 years in the church of rev Wright who hates America, and did not begin his political career in the home of a radical leftist with terrorist background, one Mr. Ayers. We also know every detail of Jindal’s college grades and his writings, and his birth certificate is available for any one to see from the county of his birth. So quit making comparisons which do not add to your esteem as an unbiased poster.
May be they both have sane national origin?
“I’m a troll? As you’ve pointed out, I’ve been on Free Republic a lot longer than you. And I don’t resort to obscenities and ad hominen attack. But don’t think you are going to slime Jindal, Reagan and Palin unchalleneged.
You are resident of Louisiana, so it’s your right to support Kathleen Blanco and Tara Hollis for governor over Bobby Jindal. But don’t expect you can intimidate everyone into your opinion. “
Please provide the post where I “slimed Reagan and Palin”....
ad hominen attacks, please re-read post#24. Your strawmen are ablaze, troll.
I forgot to add, your homework is overdue. You will receieve a failing grade, and your parents notified.
Similarity #2, his record as governor has not been vetted. He crosses the country on fund raisers and the thousands of jobs he claims to have “created” just plain ol’ don’t exist.
The reason “I cut Louisiana’s budget 25 Billion dollars” is because the 25 billion dollars was “one time money” from the federal...ahhh...centralized government, for disaster relief from Katrina.
He is a political genius; he is also a liar.
I don’t want somebody who will bore people to death with their intellectual firepower, born of immersion in policy complexities, sufficient to refute Obama’s meretricious claims and derelictions of duty.” Good grief. /eyeroll
Anybody who is too stupid to see by now what that lying, communist, piece of sh** Ubama is doing - - and wants to do - - to this nation is too stupid to understand (or deserve) fancy refutations of Ubama’s lies. Talk about an exercise in futility. Whew...
No. Give me somebody with the an acid tongue and the rhetorical skills to bury that sick scumbag Ubama and put HIM on the defensive... Make HIM “explain”. Give me a great liar, somebody really oily, somebody who is as great a liar as Bill Clinton.
Facing growing momentum for some sort of tax cut, Gov. Bobby Jindal and legislative leaders agreed Wednesday to roll back the 2002 Stelly plan income tax increases starting in 2009.
The deal emerged after several days of backroom negotiations and appears to defuse a politically tenuous situation for Jindal, who did not initially embrace a tax cut even though the state treasury is brimming with record revenue.
The Republicans in the LA legislature basically had to threaten Jindal to get him to go along with the tax cut. It was only then that he got in front of it, and later trumpeted it.
Alario switched to Republican in 2010.
I’d give Jindal a “C+” so far. Considering what he’s followed, I’m happy with that, but he’s nowhere near what I really want, and he sure doesn’t deserve to be VP.
And your point is what? Alario could say he’s the tooth fairy; he is an idealogical demonrat!
I apologize entropy12, as sitting grandkids provides “Pawpaw” some challenges.
I re-read your post, and I do not see any similarity in their “hue” of skin color...do you see people that way? If you do, I really feel sorry you.
The esteem as an unbiased poster is bunk. Everybody posting is biased, yourself included. I love the Sportsman’s Paradise, and I want to see her prosper. Regardless what the Gov says, he ain’t helping her one iota.
