Harvard professor Charles Ogletree is a friend of Barack Obama. Here he is at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network Convention yesterday, declaring,
“I want to see the first white victim of the stand your ground by a black defendant and see if it works.”
Stand your ground is a reference to the legality (until yesterday) of defending yourself from thugs who are bashing your head against the sidewalk in an attempt to kill you. Not even a Harvard professor could be so detached from reality as not to realize that this remark will be interpreted as encouragement to pick fights with whites, then kill them if they fight back.
When this happens, it will be reported in the local media only.
If Obama were the president of all Americans rather than just black Americans and well-to-do moonbats, he would make some attempt to tamp this rhetoric down rather than contributing to it.

For those down here those places are some bad places which have a lot of crime and have some bad black high crime areas.

I've always told my young daughter to avoid gangs (black, white, Hispanic, Asian or otherwise) and people who look, talk and act like thugs. It’s a huge political blunder for the left to push the envelope on this issue.
George Zimmerman’s mother is Hispanic. George looks as Mexican as Pancho Villa. Hispanics will identify with him, they will empathize with him. Latinos vote.
By fanning the flames in order to gain favor with blacks, an already wholely-owned voting bloc for Obama, they run the risk of alienating Latinos in a big way. There is zero gain for sure, and the possibility of a huge backfire.
Blacks and latinos have never had a natural affinity for each other, they have been actually quite resistant to any kind of unity.
As more and more photos of George Zimmerman surface, latinos will begin to think of him as one of their own, and they will take offense at what is happening to him.
