Before you try to influence Congress, watch this.

This video was created for instruct members of NumbersUSA to help get a bill passed (E-Verify), but I can picture a more perfect lesson in civics for any grass-roots conservative movement.

http://numbersusa.tv/

The bill being discussed would mandate E-Verify, a program which helps business detect identity fraud by illegal aliens, so that immigration laws can be enforced. NumbersUSA is *not* a conservative organization, per se; like the NRA, they focus on a single issue, which happens to be very popular among conservatives. Vast majorities of all Americans support NumbersUSA's goal of reducing illegal immigration (and certain types of "legal" immigration, such as chain migration, amnesties, and unnecessary worker importation). But major corporations love cheap labor, so key Republicans are stalling.

I think the video, however, is of far greater interest than that one issue: all conservatives should know how to deal with stalling RINOs.

We didn’t need E-Verify! The IRS could have checked employer’s employee tax statements submitted. No! Everyone has to be a cop and a bill collector for the government or a criminal instead of just business person.

One problem is the fact that a congressman may vote one way on the floor of the house than have whatever it is that he voted for. removed in committee.

It was one of the issues I had with Fred Thompson. He had a strong border control record of votes but repeatedly diluted those votes in committee.

So we get them unemployed and they collect government assistance. The border needs to be closed because they will stay and not work with just this in place.

Are you saying that illegal aliens are receiving unemployment insurance and welfare assistance? They do get many public benefits, such as public education and even Earned Income Tax Credits, but I would think being fired for identity fraud is a pretty surefire way of losing unemployment insurance. Keep in mind, former employers do pay part of that bill; I’ve had friends of mine slandered by former employers who didn’t want to pay. Is your state softer on unemployment benefits?

I don’t know about the unemployment benefits. I was speaking about the other benefits you mentioned plus food stamps. The fact is that the border needs to be closed and the benefits need to be stopped in addition to the E-verify for real reform to work. There are just to many people who will hire under the table.

I can confirm for you that illegal aliens do NOT receive food stamps. Nor unemployment benefits. And they STOP receiving earned income tax credits when they quit being able to use identity fraud. So illegal aliens will get fewer benefits, not more, once they lose their jobs because of E-Verify.

So basically, what you did is you attacked a perfectly good program, on a false premise, simply because it was not a different perfectly good program, which it compliments quite nicely, actually. That’s astonishingly counter-productive.

You are still saying that they are receiving benefits. Just a reduced amount. The fact is that they should receive no benefits period. I never stated that the program was bad you did. I simply stated that it will not end the problem. I happen to think it is needed, but the border needs to be closed, and the benefits they do receive have to be stopped as well. Illegal aliens will still be here even after this is past if it is past because they will work under the table and get some benefits as you have stated yourself. Please don’t give me your holier than thou attitude because I stated the obvious. This program is a start but not a end all. I support E-verify, but realize it has to have other reform to fully work.

Wow. You wrote this as if it were a bad consequence of E-Verify: “So we get them unemployed and they collect government assistance. “ The implication is that they would be getting government assistance that they would not get if they were not unemployed. That implication is totally false. Admit you were wrong, and move on. It happens. No big deal.

But for the record, since illegal aliens do NOT qualify for unemployment, welfare or EITC, and since E-Verify will strip away excuses for hiring illegal aliens, millions of illegal aliens will move back to Mexico, once they don’t have jobs. Not all of them, so we need to do more. But millions will leave. We know this because 2 million illegal aliens have gone home since the economic downturn.

Just because one measure doesn’t completely cure the problem doesn’t mean that someone wouldn’t have to be a complete idiot to criticize the program for “not working.” Which makes me highly suspicious, since I see you’ve also been recently asserting that Romney is no better than Obama. Romney sucks, but saying he’s no better than Obama is as completely retarded and counter-productive as saying that Jimmy Olson is no better than Lex Luther.

Are you a troll; or a complete, unhinged, drooling moron? Neither? Than quit acting like one.

I might ask if you are a troll. You insult me because I don’t agree with you 100% I am a moron. No wait a drooling moron. Why don’t you grow up and admit other people don’t agree with you all the time. Even if I did admit I was wrong you would still insult me like you did above. How do you expect to get anyone to agree with you when you are so abrasive.

And personally I do think Romney sucks. In my opinion base on what I have have seen of his past he is no better then O’Dumby. I hold out little hope for our country because of politicians like him control the republican side. But what does this have to do with the argument about E-verify, nothing. It is obvious that you are not a very good debater and just want to shove your idea down my throat.

AND ONCE AGAIN I SAY THAT I AGREE WITH E-VERIFY, BUT THINK IT DOES NOT GO FAR ENOUGH.

You either (A) are a sad-sack, demotivating conservative, in which case you should just shut the hell up and not be counter-productive, or at least educatue yourself before you leap to conclusions, or (B) a troll, in which case I’ll be keeping an eye on you. Either way, you’re a nuisance.

I don’t care if you watch me. But it is apparent from your post that you are easily irritated when some one points out that you do not read and retain. I am far from a troll. And I may be upset with the status of the republican party because they have shown they getting nothing done. So what your insults just prove is that you are very immature and that you can not carry out a persuasive argument. If this is how you carry on day to day you indeed must be a miserable person to be around. I actually relish putting a finger in your eye because you are abusive with your posts.

And I state again Romney is just like O’Dumby is. I also state that E-Verify will not work by it’s self. Is it a good start yes but it is incomplete.
