Newt Gingrich has proposed a UN treaty to foster the God-given inalienable right of humans to have the Right to Bear Arms, so dictators, thugs, rapists, etc. can no longer make people live in fear throughout the world. This is a HUGE proposal. Please let me know what TV networks are reporting on this major idea by a Presidential candidate. Is Fox News still talking about stay at home moms, GSA parties and Romney's family life? Seriously, let's watch for coverage of this Right to Bear Arms UN treaty proposed by Gingrich. Let's see which TV networks report on it!

(Back on topic) FReepers everywhere have observed that the Trayvon incident, ONE SINGLE SHOOTING, is galvanizing the entire gungrabber movement complete with talk of abridging the individual right of self defense. We can only hope that Zimmerman is tried & acquitted (let the cities explode, I say lock & load) which will deflate most political momentum toward reinstituting 1960’s era gun control.
Still, I doubt that any candidate or incumbent will proclaim, “I’m Senator Smurdlap and I’m going to disarm the violent majority!” (Schumer & Feinstein, they might).
Oh please. This is a nonstarter.

So, why is Newt lending them any credibility?
We are already fighting to keep our GOD-GIVEN rights to bear arms against domestic enemies; why we want to open up any such treaty to interpretation by the one-worlder, jackbooted UN thugs? Our Constitution GUARANTEES the RKBA "shall not be infringed"; why mess with perfection?
No thanks. If it was my choice, the only notice we'd give the UN would be an EVICTION notice. Get the hell off our sovereign soil, and not another dollar would go to the UN.

If he had asked me, I would have suggested leaving the UN would be the better choice. But he didn’t, so I guess you’ll have to ask him that.
Seriously, I do think it is yet another of those ‘now or never’ issues. Maybe it’s already to late for anyone to pull out.
This perfectly defines Gingrich in a nutshell.
He is brilliant at generating ideas that can’t work in the real world.
Is the idea brilliant? Yep, everybody in the world should have the right to self defense.
Is there a snowball’s chance in hell of the UN EVER PROMOTING THIS LET ALONE FIGHTING IT AT EVERY CHANCE?
This is so obvious, no answer is needed.
And there you have your classic Gingrich. He comes up with a nice brilliant utopian idea that would be fabulous if executed, but it’s execution is impossible.
And this is why Speaker Gingrich accomplished almost nothing of the Contract with America or anything else for that matter.

Its kind of odd how conservatives with the closest ties to the UN are most vehemently opposed to it. John Bolton and Alan Keyes both hate the UN with a passion.

Although Newt may have meant well but a sincere patriot would never in any manner speak in positive recognition of the UN but instead would demand the UN be severed from the US altogether

In the Canal Zone where I grew up, any family that misbehaved was given 24-48 hours to pack and leave; therefore, 48 hours is not unreasonable.
