There is a reason that is line one. We all have equal rights, an equal right to respect, and egual duties and obligations. Sadly, the last two points seem to get lost most of the time.
So tell me, in words of one syllable since I am slow, why the conservatives have let the equal rights movement be dominated by the left. Especially the feminist movement. I look around me. Read here, DU, heck even stormfront, though not fond of them. Most of the people I read are women. Smart, knowlegeable, able to do the give and take of political disputes with anyone.
So why have we let the narrative drift to the left as far as womens rights are concerned? Yes, I, like every decent person, think that if you do the job you get the pay. If you stay home and look after the kids you should be respected, not reviled. It is one of the core beliefs of conservatism. That you do what you do.
We lost that.

The “War on women” is a smokescreen.
Liberals are VERY tolerant... unless you are a conservative woman. If you are a conservative woman, you aren’t valid.
It’s as simple as that. You refuse to be a useful tool, so you are tossed aside.
It also seems prevalent on the sensitive left to hurl the very worst invective at conservative women and excuse the boorish behavior because “they deserve it.”
The worst sexists I’ve ever encountered have been liberal men who pay lip service while sleazily ogling and repeating the talking points.

All men were created equal. Women are simply created better. Guess there wasn’t room to clarify in the documents by our Founders.
Name one prominent female conservative who has not been trashed by the mainstream media!
When did women get to vote? Certainly not when the U.S. Founding Documents were penned.
It’s an irrelevant issue used for one group to take wealth from others or to prevent others from competing in business, for government debt, etc. Other issues used in the same way are environmentalism and animal “rights.”
No one is fooled by definitions written by linguistic activists. By its word roots, feminism means for women. It’s exclusive to women.
By its activism and lobbying, feminism is misogamist and misanthropist. It’s been largely used to break working class families and keep them from rising to compete.
As for my perception of a “woman’s place,” women should do all that they can do for themselves and their families. Be healthy. Become engineers, farmers, mechanics in a context of human rights (rights confirmed in our American founding papers). Be good wives. Have children. Use your skills and knowledge to help bring prosperity to your families. Do whatever you can. Do it without Republicrat socialism.
During the 1800s, many American women wrote in favor of “one family, one vote,” and against the antics of Susan B. Anthony & co. against civil war efforts (pretenses at nursing, etc.). Anthony finally left her badgering of the Party of Lincoln behind to travel with the racist Democrat, George Train, and to refuse any speech against lynchings.
BTW, Anthony not only disrupted the work of Union officers in the rear of the battlefields. She and her friends advocated for secession in the meetings halls of New York and instigated at least one riot.
She and her friends also advocated for:
* Public education.
* No-fault divorce.
* Against Christianity and Judaism (see “The Woman’s Bible”).
The left is going for "special" rights which most of us find distasteful.
That phrase rings of civil war, war between the states, or war between the family in this present time (imho). Would bring families together, or bring us to the first sentence. As in the time of our history of the 1860s life is intense.
Operational feminism is or at least was primarily about advancing female supremacism, misandry, abortion rights, and political liberalism. "Equality" was a handy word to throw into empassioned speeches, but in reality feminist equality always meant promoting sex preferences to advance women over men. To feminists, equality meant inequality.
To believe that mid-1960's to mid 1990's American feminists should be viewed as a group that promoted equality is as clueless as believing that the Ku Klux Klan should be viewed as a benevolent fraternal organization. That is not an extreme analogy. The feminist body count due to abortion is many thousands of times higher than that of the KKK.
These days, in my opinion, while plenty of feminist hatemongers can be found in college faculty lounges, and while they still have the power to ensure that less qualified women are hired over more qualified men, their power seems to have waned. Their young female students understand their sick games too well, and refuse to play. Young male students have learned to avoid them. They are slowly melting away.
