Breakdown of Morale in the Ranks

Enjoying Everything that Columbia Has to Offer - Obama Secret Service Suffers From More than Just a Lack of Morale in South America - Breakdown of Morale in the Ranks By Scott Rohter, April 2012

A very interesting but barely covered item in the news this week was from Columbia, South America where twelve members of President Obama’s advance security team were recalled back to the United States for “disciplinary reasons.” Hmmm… Have some members of the Secret Service, the nation’s finest and truest men and women, who are responsible for the President’s own personal safety, and who are supposed to be willing to lay down their lives to protect the President, finally had about enough of him too?

President Obama was attending a Summit of the Americas Conference this weekend in Cartagena, Columbia, on Columbia’s northern Caribbean coast, and just like everywhere else that our young, jet setting President goes, there was an advance contingent of Secret Service agents sent in there ahead of him to prepare the way for his visit, and to ensure his personal safety.

So what actually happened down there in Cartagena, Columbia in the week prior to President Obama’s arrival, to cause an entire contingent of Secret Service personnel, twelve Secret Service agents who were members of his advance personal security team, to be removed from their assignments and summarily returned home for disciplinary action? Well, the details are still a little bit sketchy, but I have never heard of anything like this ever happening before in my lifetime! So what do we actually know?

The twelve Secret Service agents included two high level supervisors. At least one of the agents is accused of employing the services of a Columbian prostitute. There were possibly other agents involved with prostitutes as well. This unheard of misconduct was discovered when a disgruntled hooker complained about not getting paid! The prostitute filed a report with the local Columbian police who contacted the U.S. State Department. All of this information was released by a Secret Service spokesman and was reported originally by CBS News.

According to hotel employees in Columbia where the Secret Service agents were staying, the agents had been drinking heavily all week long prior to the Presidents arrival. The Secret Service spokesman said this only represented a moral deficiency, not an operational deficiency. I would say that it represents both a moral deficiency and an operational deficiency, and a breakdown in morale as well...

Now why would there be a breakdown in morale and a lack of discipline among the President’s highly trained Secret Service personnel? Could it be that they are unhappy about having to protect a man who according to the Constitution and the best available evidence, is not even legally qualified to be our Nation’s 44th President; a man who many Americans view as a usurper, and whose Marxist policies to transform America are not well liked? Does the idea of his forged birth certificate, now proved by the Sheriff of Maricopa County Arizona’s “Cold Case Team”, and not disputed in a New Jersey court room this week by the President’s own defense attorneys, possibly have anything to do with this breakdown of morale in the Secret Service? One can only wonder if this,.. and other possible un-Constitutional acts committed by President Obama are starting to catch up with him, and are having a cumulative effect on the morale of the Secret Service agents who are charged with protecting him.

Maybe Obama should replace the Secret Service with the NBPP. They would be more to
his liking.

I don't buy this. A person of character doesn't give up values because they see someone without character.

This is a bigger problem of leadership.

There is probably a good chance that some of these agents will be dismissed. There is also a chance that they will decide to talk - and all manner of information about the kenyan may come to light.

I worked with the Secret Service in 1987-88 guarding then Vice President George H. W. Bush on his many trips to Iowa for the caucuses. I was a civilian state policeman at the Air National Guard base. They were the heaviest drinkers I’d ever seen in my life, and I pulled two tours in Korea, as well as Fort Hood and Fort Polk. It’s documented that most of President Kennedy’s agents were drunk or hung-over the day he was assassinated. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

It must be tremendously demoralizing to protect a Marxist and avowed enemy of their country.

Breakdown of Morale Morality in the Ranks -- well GeeOpie, now how did that happen?

"According to my opinion, and the opinions of many defectors of my caliber, only about 15% of time, money, and manpower is spent on espionage as such. The other 85% is a slow process which we call either ideological subversion, active measures, or psychological warfare. What it basically means is: to change the perception of reality of every American that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country.
It's a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages.
The first stage being "demoralization".... "

Wow. I’ve heard that about Kennedy’s SS guys too but figured it was how things were back before political correctness kicked in and all. Guess not much has changed.

I sense a full-scale scandal brewing as more stories and ex-SS employees come forward now.

Unfortunately, most people in the US have a very idealistic view of our men and women in uniform. Having worn both law enforcement and military uniforms, I’d say most people would be shocked to know who the protectors are and some of the things they do. I know that sounds like I’m painting with a broad brush, but I’ve seen it firsthand and there are more members of both communities that would make you proud, but please don’t think they’re any different than anyone else.

And, they usually get away with it. In the business, it’s called professional courtesy.

please don’t think they’re any different than anyone else.

A simple, but profound statement. People are people. We all have a sin nature and no one is perfect.

The whole idea of "Limited Government" is to limit the amount of control that some imperfect people might have over your life. As individuals, we are imperfect enough to mess up our own lives -- we don't need another imperfect person to do it for us.

Every time you see someone fall a little short in their line of work, it should reinforce the notion that our government should be small and weak -- not at all like the government we have today, which is manifestly corrupt and tyrannous.

.

This whole "affair" is a world-class Farce ...

Something major is going on ... behind the scenes, of course ...

Are we asked to believe that an "entire" Secret Service Advance Team (all 12 guys) screwed-up ?

That's ludicrous ... and ANY national security professional knows it ...

And ... now ... even "military" guys are getting tagged with this (alleged) affair ?

Sounds like "Wag The Dog" to me ... bigtime ...

There are several possibilities ... and I DARE-NOT discuss them ...
