Obama’s shiny objects

World English Dictionary

zombie or zombi (ˈzɒmbɪ)

1. a person who is or appears to be lifeless, apathetic, or totally lacking in independent judgment; automaton

Obama supporters do not generally have much will. They lack independent judgment. They are automatons. They are easily distracted by shiny objects and Barack Obama has a host of shiny things he uses to distract them from the real issues facing the nation. As he has no record upon which to run, Obama needs these shiny objects and they are critical to his re-election efforts. Among them:

The Buffett Rule

Obama has made and continues to make a big deal out of this. He continual assertion is that it's about "fairness."

"Tax reform should follow the Buffett Rule. If you make more than $1 million a year, you should not pay less than 30 percent in taxes. And my Republican friend Tom Coburn is right: Washington should stop subsidizing millionaires. In fact, if you're earning a million dollars a year, you shouldn't get special tax subsidies or deductions."

Those whose earnings derive from capital gains pay 15%- which is what the law demands. Obama knows that, but this shiny object gets the class warfare fans all fired up over nothing. The mesmerized Obama zombies believe that this $4 billion per year shiny object will eliminate the trillion dollar plus deficit.

Romney's tax returns

Barack Obama demands that Mitt Romney release more of his tax returns.

President Barack Obama has called on Republican Mitt Romney to release his past tax returns, saying that candidates for office need to be "as transparent as possible."

Obama told Univision in an interview conducted at the Summit of the Americas in Colombia that candidates need to disclose their tax records as a way of letting the public know their financial background. It was the first time Obama had made the request personally, His campaign has pressured Romney to release a trove of tax documents going back to the 1990s.

"I think that it's important for any candidate in public office to be as transparent as possible, to let people know who we are, what we stand for, and you know, I think that this is just carrying on a tradition that has existed throughout the modern presidency," Obama said in an interview scheduled to air Sunday on Univision's "Al Punto" program.

As transparent as possible? Hysterical! This is the guy who won't release his college records so we can see exactly who is bankrolling him. This is the guy who wages a war on whistle blowers. This is the guy who continuously blocks FOIA requests. This is the guy whose administration holds transparency meeting behind closed doors. But Obama can depend on his weak minded supporters to focus on this shiny object and ignore all the rest.

RIMMER meets up with CAT in the corridor.

RIMMER: Good evening, you stupid, stinking, festering, gimboid of a cat.

He begins to leave, then realises what the CAT has on the trolley.

RIMMER: Er, you're going to put these cigarettes back, aren't you?
CAT: Are you crazy? This is my all time best lucky find I ever found in the whole of today.
RIMMER: No no no no no. You are going to put these cigarettes back *quickly* before he comes.
CAT: These are mine!
RIMMER: They're not yours -- put them back.
CAT: See this hand? It is mine. See these things? They are mine.
RIMMER: I'll give you a fish.
CAT: One fish? Ha!
RIMMER: Two fish.
CAT: For all these shiny things?
RIMMER: I'll show you how to get all the fish you'll ever need.
CAT: (Tempted) Five fish?
RIMMER: Mmm.
CAT: Five fish? I'll be rich!
RIMMER: You certainly will! Yes, come on!
CAT: All right!
