Yet, there remains in society one group of people who are still mocked, dehumanized, marginalized, castigated, blamed for woes, and subjected to threatened actions that present a clear danger to their lives and futures. If we are to have a truly equal and moral society, if our health care system is to have any chance of caring properly for the least of those among us, to use a Biblical turn of phrase, we need to watch our mouths and cleanse our hearts.

Amen!

the despicable N-word can no longer be uttered publicly without serious social consequences

Nonsense. Black people call one another "nigger" all the time, and as long as they do, nobody else should be mumbling "n-word" as if we were all 3-year-olds. Calling a person a nigger as an expletive is both rude and unworthy of our best nature, but simply refering to the word, as in, "This rap song uses the word 'nigger' at least 18 times," is just basic honesty.

Other than that, the author is completely correct that it's socially acceptable in many circles to use extremely debasing language about disabled people, and of course about unborn children. This is the way we can tell who's targeted for death.
