However, there may be a more fundamental reason we are so consistently lied to by Barack Obama and his allies: they just do not respect most Americans and have very little regard for our intelligence.
Where, one may ask, is the proof of this claim? Barack Obama and his closest advisers have in fact told us they don't think too highly of most Americans.
The tip off should have been Barack Obama's "gaffe" (Michael Kinsley's definition of a gaffe made by a politician is when he tells us how he truly thinks by accident) back in 2008 when he derisively described people who live in small-towns as bitter people who "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them." Ah, yes, ignorant yokels sharing kinship if not genes with the Clampetts.
But his scorn is not reserved just for people who live in rural areas. He has also said that "I'm not interested in the suburbs. Suburbs bore me," so it may be a fair assumption that he does not have much respect for suburban dwellers either (though if the zip code is ritzy enough he may drop by for a fundraiser or two or two dozen).
*break* (edited for space)
He has said we have become "lazy" and grown "soft" over the years. He has mocked Republicans as being too dumb to understand a jobs bill he was trying to pass, so Democrats were going to have to break up the Jobs Bill into bite-sized pieces that were easier to understand.
A leader who has no respect for the people "below" him becomes emboldened to make all sorts of claims, confident that the dullards will not fathom they have been had.

And Obama is just like Biden; too stupid to remember the truth, too arrogant to care.
A parable: Why the scorpion stings -
The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn’t see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.
Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.
“Hellooo Mr. Frog!” called the scorpion across the water, “Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?”
“Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?” asked the frog hesitantly.
“Because,” the scorpion replied, “If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!”
Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. “What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!”
“This is true,” agreed the scorpion, “But then I wouldn’t be able to get to the other side of the river!”
“Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?” said the frog.
“Ahh...,” crooned the scorpion, “Because you see, once you’ve taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!”
So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog’s back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog’s soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.
Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog’s back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.
“You fool!” croaked the frog, “Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?”
The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog’s back.
“I could not help myself. It is my nature.”
Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.
I imagine Obama does a little dance every time he lies. It is his nature.
Obama would find that very flattering. He'd like to think of himself as a tough-as-nails, take-no-prisoners Chicago pol.
Actually, he's more like the teacher who finds himself up in front of a class when he really doesn't know the material he's supposed to teach.
He has a little information and a lot of fashionable attitudes, so he makes do with those attitudes, beliefs, and assumptions and relies more on the politically correct opinions and judgments he has than on the facts he doesn't have.
And like that teacher who doesn't know what he's doing, Obama affects bluster and bravado in order not to reveal just how little he knows and how deep he is in over his head.
Simple: he speaks his father's native tongue. Obama is the natural son of the father of lies.
Obama's natural habitat is the pitch blackness of the abyss, where an eviseral hatred of Truth is as normal as mom, baseball, and apple pie is to us. It's the place where sunshine must never enter, lest the light expose the wretched nature of the inhabitants' souls (not to mention the ecosystem of slime, mildew, and filth).
This "POTUS" belongs in our beloved White House as much as fish are at home in a tumbleweed.
Ding, ding, ding!! We have a winner. This is the comment that I'd been waiting for.
Obama lies because the truth is not in him.
"Who're you gonnna believe, me, or your lying eyes?"
And ditto for Congress. I do not wonder why they are content to function as enablers. They all speak the same language of falsehood, manipulation, and deceit. If Obama is the beast then Congress is the second beast... you know, the one that has two horns and makes the laws (e.g Obamacare).
45 My people, go out of the midst of her! And let everyone deliver himself from the fierce anger of the Lord. 46 And lest your heart faint, And you fear for the rumor that will be heard in the land (A rumor will come one year, And after that, in another year A rumor will come, And violence in the land, Ruler against ruler),
47 Therefore behold, the days are coming That I will bring judgment on the carved images of Babylon; Her whole land shall be ashamed, And all her slain shall fall in her midst. 48 Then the heavens and the earth and all that is in them Shall sing joyously over Babylon; For the plunderers shall come to her from the north, says the Lord.
49 As Babylon has caused the slain of Israel to fall, So at Babylon the slain of all the earth shall fall. 50 You who have escaped the sword, Get away! Do not stand still! Remember the Lord afar off, And let Jerusalem come to your mind.
Ruler against ruler...
Ancient Babylon had the king, Modern Babylon has, well just look at this mess. They'll never get a consensus so...= more of the same.
20 Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her! 21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore.
I guess politicians lie because they have lost (maybe never HAD) the idea that there’s a distinction between the truth and absolutely everything else on earth!
After a couple of unforgettably humiliating and physically painful lessons, my mother and father demonstrated to me that the truth is absolute and incontrovertible. It is NOT conditional; it may not be altered, substituted by anything else, ignored or outdated, etc. I got my ticket punched (so to speak) and advanced into maturity with this basic grounding and without which all other lessons would be worthless.
I dont know how any one calling himself a mature adult, worthy of trust and honor, can get through life if he never had this very basic and indispensible lesson. However, we have just these kinds of people in politics and even in the WH.
