Media have already tried Zimmerman
It seems quite unlikely at this point. I want to believe that our legal system will work and that justice will be served. However, the state versus Zimmerman case has been tried in the media.
The mind readers have decided George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin solely because he was black and that Zimmerman is a racist. The likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the New Black Panther Party have condemned the man, and crowds seem to echo their sentiments...

I'm not sure Zimmerman can get a fair trial on the planet, never mind in Seminole County or Florida.
What we have going on here is public [sentencing] by the mainstream media, black community of Sanford and [people] across the country. Whatever happened to innocent until proved guilty, or is this the government of North Korea, where entire families are thrown into gulags, never to be heard from again?
The media, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and others have already proclaimed him guilty. It is a disgrace that someone has to go into hiding before being arrested, never mind before a trial. I don't believe anyone here crying for justice actually wants justice.
Why don't the Sharptons and Jacksons show up when other people die in our community — white, black, Hispanic, Asian, et al.? Because it doesn't fit their cause — publicity, notoriety, outrage. They only show up when the cameras are rolling.
Shame on everyone for throwing accelerant on the fire. Justice, I doubt it....

I think Corey overcharged hoping Zimmerman would plead out, and a trial wouldn’t be necessary.
As far as I’m concerned, he’s innocent. And so is every other accused person out there.
If this doesn’t get thrown out at the evidentery hearing, it will be a much higher bar that the prosecution will have to meet at trial. All 12 jurors will have to be convinced of guilt. I’m betting there are more honest jurors than most think. Zimermann only needs one holdout.
As far as I’m concerned, he’s innocent. And so is every other accused person out there. Can he get a fair trial? Sure..but it’s not going to be easy. They might actually have to pull in some right wingers with a sense of honesty and justice.
If there’s nobody to pull in, we all need to kiss our tails good-by because there’s no jury system left to protect US when we are unjustly accused. ALL people accused are unjustly accused...until PROVEN otherwise. That hasn’t happened for zimmerman, and it hasn’t happened to anybody on a court docket, anywhere in the country.

Only if they select the jury from people here on FR. As a whole, this is the most intellectually honest group I know. Sure we’re conservatives, patriots, etc. and we definitely have strong opinions. But my fellow freepers seem to be a cut above the ordinary when it comes to education, integrity, and common sense. Out in “the wild” of MSM land George doesn’t stand a chance.
He shouldn’t have to plead out to anything because he didn’t DO anything but I agree with what you said. I just hope I’m alive when the race baiters in this country are rendered irrevelent and one day they will be.....I have to have faith that it will happen.

They are going to want to find the least informed (possibly dumbest) jurors they can find. Isn’t that how it usually works?
No. That’s the point.
Due to one personal brush with the courts, and several friends' dealings with courts... I have absolutely zero faith that justice is done there. Zero. If I ever have to go to court again I am finding the slimiest, sleaziest, low-life, bend-the-rules {expletive} I can to represent me and/or my interests. I will go into court to fight dirty, destroy anyone and anything that gets in my way. I advise any of my fellow freepers to do the same. Don't look for justice, look for survival.
Zimmerman and his lawyer should tell Corey to go piss in the wind. Her case is so weak she’ll never get a conviction, and as an aside I think she’s sabotaged her own career.
If that is true, Corey is a fool. Then again, maybe locals already knew that.
Justice no longer exists in America, and neither does honesty.

If the charging document that was made public is what the State has to base its case on, I'm betting that a judge would dismiss charges on motion after the State makes its case. No jury decision would even be necessary under this scenario.
I can't see how that document suggests the intent needed to justify 2nd degree murder, and with what was written I can see no proof that Zimmerman wasn't acting in self defense, which is the State's responsibility to prove - not his.
This is my non-lawyer opinion of course, and its not my freedom thats on the line so whatever the defense decides, I hope ultimately justice is done.
It might require a lot more than honesty. It might require a hell of a lot of courage. Jurors who vote not guilty risk having their names, addresses, and photos posted on Twitter. The lynch mob will want revenge.
The only safe verdict for the jurors is guilty.

From what I have read that is precisely correct, but jurors get to hear ALL the important evidence and all the arguments, and I don't. Maybe GZ is guilty after all. I would have no problem with an impartial jury convicting him based on the evidence, but this point I don't see how he can be assured of facing an impartial jury anywhere in the country. This is no longer a local case, it is a national case. Even our idiot President of the United States has publicly weighed in against Zimmerman. What good Democrat juror could exonerate Zimmerman for killing Obama's almost-son?
If GZ can't get a fair trial, I think he should be released. The problem with doing that is that if he is released, he will be at serious risk of being killed by the lynch mob.
What's the solution? Plastic surgery and something like the Witness Relocation Program?
Hollyweird has spent at least 20 years making us believe even a little skinny woman can go ninja & quickly hurt or kill many large men but nobody’s supposed to believe Trayvon could put Zimmerman in actual fear of being killed. Defense might need to show the jury “Salt”.

Right. I wrestled with my son when he was growing up, and he started kicking my butt when he was 16, and I outweighed him by more than 100 pounds!
What about waiving the right to trial by jury?
I think he can get a fair trial, if he gets a good attorney. Remember, O. J. was convicted in the press before he went to trial.
For some reason I don't think Judge Joe Brown could hold a fair Trial.

I am not a Floridian, but I happened to be in FL when Angela Corey announced her verdict against George Zimmerman. This, of course, after Sharpton, Jackson, and the Black Panthers had taken the law into their own hands and had pronounced what kind of verdict they wanted. When I saw that woman appear on TV that day, so smug and in my view, preening herself before all those cameras, I felt she was getting ready to make a political run at the expense of a fair trial for George Zimmerman. When she finished, I knew there would be no fair trial. Those who are ginning up a race war to satisfy their lust for power do not know what they are doing. Racism is a paper tiger in 2012 but it is a very powerful political tool for the minions of idiots among us. I pray God will intervene in this situation and that justice somehow can be served..However, with the Black Panthers having all the power they need to place a “dead or alive” bounty, without any consequences, on someone’s head, I imagine George might feel he is safer in jail than out on the streets of America. Yes, we are headed to a place like N. Korea.

Exactly right..And, the jurors who will be chosen probably will fear for their very lives if they do not deliver the verdict the politicians and the media chose for them. Our justice system has been broken for a long time.

This action should carry a legal penalty for it flies in the face of the pursuit of justice. Children in government run public schools are being brainwashed on a regular basis.
I wonder what would happen if somebody like the Heritage Foundation put out a “Wanted:Dead or Alive - $10,000 bounty” poster for Loretta Fuddy, for the crime of misprision of forgery. And then held rallies saying that blood would flow in the streets if she was not charged with the crime.
What do you think would happen?
How do we find out if the same things have happened for the New Black Panthers? For instance, are they on a terrorist list? Have they been visited by the FBI? Have they been charged with the same crime that someone threatening Obma (for instance) with death would be charged with?

The fact that Zimmerman was charged with a crime is entirely indicative that he cannot get a fair trial. No crime was committed according to "stand your ground". This is a dog and pony prosecution to appease race baiting interlopers.
