How old was your kiddo? Obama’s dog tasting days were in the ballpark of six to ten years old from what I have read online. When I was about that age, I refused to eat venison and rabbit.

Curious. What made you refuse to eat venison and rabbit? I can understand the aversion to rabbit if you also kept them as pets. I’ve eaten venison, rabbit, bear, rattle snake, goat, pickled pig’s feet and gator and of course being from Maryland, a lot of raw oysters. I don’t think I’d eat dog or horse unless I had to in an emergency situation. OTHO, if I were visiting a foreign country where dog was eaten, I can’t say for sure that I wouldn’t try it.

Interestingly in many of those parts of the world where dog is eaten, dogs are also kept as pets. They would never think to fry up their pet Fido but raise dogs as food much like we do cows or pigs. Some folks keep pot bellied pigs as pets but I suspect a number of them also eat pork.

To be honest, there are hundreds of reasons why I loathe Obama and his ilk and want him out of a job come November, but his culinary adventures as a kid are not particularly high on my list.

His eating dog meat, and the ridicule that ensued following the revelation in the form of jokes, YouTube ribbing, and dogs Photoshopped going into old Barky's mouth will do more damage to his chances for reelection than gas prices.

Most Americans have a deep, visceral revulsion to eating dogs, and keeping his dog-eating proclivities in their faces will go a long way toward their losing respect for him.

True, but we can’t lose sight of the fact that is another clue of exactly how foreign Obama’s upbringing is. This is not like Sarah Palin’s moose chili.

Maybe I’m small minded, but I prefer having an American president who was raised with Judeo-Christian values. I don’t want some bizarro childhood influencing the Leader of the Free World.

I'm pretty sure it was the 'Disney effect' from a steady 'diet' of Bambi and Thumper as a kid, and I did have a Dutch rabbit as a pet when I was ten or so.

I understand the whole cultural aspect of dietary choices, but the issue here for me is the media. MSM has been trotting out the Seamus story since 2007; at what point were they going to let it go? MSM enjoyed portraying Palin's moose hunting/moose chili as 'rednecky,' but now eating dog meat is part of Obama's multiculti cred? If it took the dog skeletons in Obama's closet to put the Seamus story to rest so can move on to real issues, I'm all for it :)
