Bailout recipient Bank of America has severed relations with an American company because of a reported bias against their industry. McMillan Group International released an extraordinary statement on Facebook regarding the incident:
McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an “account analysis” meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them. He spent five minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last five years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.
At this point I interrupted him and asked “Can I possible save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer what my business.” Advertisement
“That is correct” he says.
I replied “That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a Second Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won’t mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?”
“You have to do what you must” he said.
“So you are telling me this is a politically motivated decision, is that right?”
Mr Fox confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing let for him to say.
McMillan is now refusing to accept Bank of America cards from customers for payment.

Some years ago I was on a ski-lift with a judge who told me the funniest cases he heard were failed bank robbery attempts. One of the amusing one's was a guy who tried to hold up a bank one block from Phili FBI HQs during lunch hour on FBI pay day (for those too young to remember the Feral gubmint used to issue printed paychecks which had to be physically transported to your bank for deposit).

The Bush (43) administration could have stopped this practice from ever starting by not allowing the matricula cards issued by the Mexican government in their consulates in the US as identification. Last I checked, the federal government has the exclusive power to coin and regulate money.

Not everyone; I'm working on [restoring some] state-level constitutionalism by challenging some state statutes. All I got to do now is get it translated to legalese and filed as a suit, probably requesting a Declarative Judgement.
From a business standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense for them to severe profitable accounts from their portfolio to make a “political statement”.
Perhaps my tin foil is a little too tight this morning but I’d be more concerned that they know something we don’t i.e. all U.S. firearms manufacturing companies are gong to be shut down in the near future.
There is no upside to this decision for them. What is really going on?

Yup, and after you do that, give them a call, and tell them why you left them. (But maybe it might not be a good idea to tell them before the final transaction, but I really don’t know.)

When BofA bought Citi I cancelled the Citi card.
About that time, late 2008, I was selling a house and BofA had just bought Countrywide (where I had the mortgage). Wrapping it all up after the sale, minor issues, I talked with customer service and at then end of the call they gave me the usual: “I hope we can do business again in the future?” Our business was settled and the call was pleasant up until this point, when I told the women: “I will NEVER do business again with BofA” ...and this was when I brought up cancelling the Citi card, just for the fact that BofA bought them.
I only do business with a local bank now and with a visa of their name, at least until they get bought up.
