Odd. I would have expected a local FReeper to beat any news service.

Sounds like it left a good size impact crater, hope it came down away from any well populated area. Is Columbia, CA a town of any size? I don’t recall hearing of it before. Is this well inland, east of Sacramento?

Calaveras CAL FIRE said they received several calls about the lengthy sonic boom and have sent spotter crews out to investigate. Reports of fires in the region came into the department, but Sunday is a permissive burn day, so CAL FIRE is not sure if the fire calls are related to the explosion.

Apparently no known impact crater, explosion was heard from the Bay Area to Tahoe. Meteor was green.

Columbia, CA is mostly a state park with a restored little main street that operates as a Gold Rush era town, with a blacksmith, stagecoach, and gold panning. Not very big at all.

That guy cracks me up. The perma-tan... the hair, which gets crazier with each episode... the insanity. He’s got it all!
