The Linksys (Cisco) cameras are pretty good. You can view them on an Android phone.

QSee is good, as long as you can run wire.

Anything wired. You don’t want your wireless cameras hacked. Inconvenient; a pain in the @$$? You bet. But a more secure system IMHO.

“Anything wired” You don’t want your wireless cameras hacked.”

Thanks. Good point. I didn’t think about hackers.

Google X10 security systems. No monthly fees and many choices for home security. My husband set it up. It works.

I have removed Linksys/Cisco from my approved vendor list because equipment purchased did not meet their own spec sheets. 12W vs 36W. Broke my solar power budget. They don't get a second chance with me.

I’ve toyed with home security cameras since the days of the first X10 systems. First, go wired, CCTV, since wireless cameras suck. Second, buy your cameras and CCTV DVR separate. Third, I hope you are familiar with router port forwarding, etc.. to get the remote access to work.

I use the cameras and DVR below and can see my home from anywhere in the world as long as I have 3G or internet access.

I have a 1TB drive which gives me about 90 days of recording.

CIB K404AV500G H.264 4 CH Network Security Surveillance DVR Recording System w/ 500GB HDD.

VideoSecu Outdoor Day Night Security Camera Infrared Weatherproof CCTV Home 1/3” CCD 420 TV Lines 28 IR LEDs Wide View Angle Lens with Free Power Supply A71

Good luck!
