Just saw a FOX newscast showing President Bush doing the bike ride with wounded vets. The interviewer on site mentioned it was a way of being inspirational to them and others. We all know how Obummer would have jumped on it to say how he was really into being inspitational, and would have turned it into a major "I/Me" barf alert. But, being the humble, military loving and respecting person he is, President Bush merely said, "I get inspiration from them". He then turned away and got on with the task at hand - riding with and respecting our military heroes.
God how I miss, despite the liberal social issues, how he brought class and decorum to the Presidency.
As a person bush never ever engaged in the crass thuggery like Obama does.
Regardless of how some might feel about his policies, and their lack of conservative principal, W is a good man.
I have been hearing from quite a few people that would take Clinton back over obama.
God Bless President Bush! What a Great man compared to what we currently have.
I will be forever grateful President Bush was in office during 9/11 and that he took steps to put a structure in place to deal with Global Terrorism. However, my gratitude stops there.
He was wrong about DHS and TSA. He was wrong to allow TSA to become unionized - he was wrong in the power he allowed them to gain.
He was WRONG in not answering his Democrat critics and allowing the sheep among us to be further polluted with Democrat Media Lies. He was wrong about compassionate conservatism and about believing there is honor and good in Democrats - that he could work with them to better this country - he was just plain wrong!
He concentrated on protection from Islamists from without, and he neglected the real danger from the Islamists, Democrats, Socialists, Communists and perverts from within. He was just plain wrong.
And above all things, never vainglorious.

I had a lot of political issues with Bush but never doubted that he was a good man.
Just yesterday they were talking about him sitting in a meeting with severely wounded vets and he told them that he was personally responsible for decisions leading to their injuries and was not going to simply walk away from them.
When is the last time Obama took responsibility for anything?
Cool that you posted this.. I was thinking the exact same thing a few days ago. I wasn’t crazy about the “compassionate conservative” thing, but I DID feel safer and lots of my American brethren had jobs.
You have Bush. Obama is the natural result of Bush and Rove and their “new tone” and other idiotic things they did. Bush is no real conservative, and his insiders know it. He played us. Well, he played some of us. Some of us were nervous and nauseated from early 2001. We got a bit of a conservative right after 9-11, but that soon faded.
You shouldn’t miss Bush. You still have Bush, in a very real way. Enjoy. I would invite anyone who disagrees to peruse the following:

1. I know people that know GWB well, and in one case gave LOTS of money to his campaigns. All of them have said he is an ENTIRELY different person to talk to one on one than he is when somebody sticks a microphone in front of him. The bumbling, ah, er, stuff that he did on camera, which unfortunately was nothing like him one on one, was used by the liberal to define and undermine his presidency.
2. As Governor of Texas, he governed by his own instincts. He started out as president governing by his own instincts. Somewhere during his first term, when re-election began to loom, he started to listen to “consultants” and “advisers” instead of following his own instincts. And that was the end of his effectiveness.
(Oh and by the way, even my great hero Reagan listened too much to advisers during his second term. That's why his second term did not live up to the greatness of his first term.)

Actually, the answer is simple: he accepts the responsiblity when things go right, but blames Bush when things don't go right.
Anyone who does not see the sarcasm tags around the above statement needs to have his eyeglasses checked.

Thanks - many like you understood what I was saying. Others decided to "pile on" with the shortcomings and thereby missed the whole point.
My self - I thought about him too.
And yes, I miss his leadership.
We can't blame anybody but ourselves. We didn't get out there and promote our values enough. We stayed in our little holes. We expected someone to be 'from the government here to help' for our issues too. Obama is the result of votes, and those come from people, people we failed to convince.
Heh. Bush? Obama makes me miss Clinton.

I subscribe to the President’s Facebook page (yes, I still refer to him as President Bush). There are some photos from that bike ride.
He continues to serve after almost 4 years out of office. Compare that to the current occupant if the White House. President Bush loves and respects our troops. The would-be dictator wants to destroy our military and create his own revolutionary guard.
