“You can bet Al Sharpton has a bailout plan when this little war he is so carefully crafting goes awry.

Everyone I talk to is convinced there will be civil unrest when Zimmerman walks. Everyone I talk to is armed and ready”

Your characterization of Zimmerman walking as Sharpton’s handicraft going “awry” strikes me as wrong. I don’t want to say Sharpton wants Zimmerman to walk, but surely his career prospects as rabble-rouser and fire-breather would best be served by more miscarriages of justice. It’s hard to escape feeling Sharpton and Jackson want these things to happen. Whether that’s in service of overturning the evil system and bringing more race equity than could possibly be effected by convicting Zimmerman alone or in service of their massive egos, I’ll let you be the judge.

“The Homer Plessy of the famous Plessy vs. Ferguson case (which established the “separate but equal” doctrine) was one-eighth black and seven-eighths white. Zimmerman is at least one-eighth black and one-half white (or not much more).”

That was the olden days when the “one drop” rule of black blood held. Though I’m sure plenty enough partial and nearly whole black people got away with it, any blackness was construed as total blackness. The unwritten rule these days is “looks black = is black,” which excludes Zimmerman, who overall looks kinda white/kinda hispanic-y.

“Will that apply when it the state rather than the federal government prosecuting him?”

Yes, via the 14th amendment’s privileges or immunities clause. Unless SCOTUS hasn’t gotten around to “incorporating” the 6th amendment yet.

“What if the eyewitness who saw the beating and ran inside to call 9-1-1 is scared off by the mob and won’t appear in court?”

They can be subpoenaed and compelled to testify as material witnesses on penalty of contempt, I believe.

Yes, thats what will happen, Black Panthers will riot—blow up things, kill some white people, Cities like LA will burn. After three day, Obama will blame the radio talk shows and internet—stop the net, declare martial law and cancel the election till 2013 (he will then cancel that to 2016) He will rule by decree—arresting all GOP who do not support him as racists. Most Americans will support the move as it brings peace and stops the violence (he created). OR some may rise up—Some Governors may start session plans—to start a New American Confederacy—Sarah Palin will be appointed president as the fighting starts. This will be the end of the USA as a great power.

Seems AL is more pissed about a white person killing a black person than blacks slaughtering each other with great gusto.
If Al wants to help his people, maybe he should start handing out his own cash instead of bugging hard working citizens.
