We have a lot of returning veterans who already have security clearances. But that would not be the “type” of person that Obama wants to put there.

Correct. These are patronage jobs for the politically correct and intellectually inept.

A long time friend of mine is stuck in a dead-end retail job thanks to the Obama economy and has applied to the TSA multiple times just to get a steady income for his family. They always tell him that even though he passed the civil service test with flying colors, they can't hire him because they don't have the funds or time available to do the background checks.

Accordingly, it follows that if he were the right ethnicity, he wouldn't need a background check.

If they subject these august individuals to a background check, that might somehow get in the way of hiring the one man, or woman, or gender dysmorphic persyn who stops the next 911 or Hindenberg or Titanic disaster.

Surely that’s more important than some piddly background check.

After all, what means more to you, having vetted and trustworthy individuals in the ranks of your overseers, or stopping a 4 year old terrorist from running up to her “grandmother” so she can pack mule a bomb or firearm upon her person while pretending to hug her grammy?

You simply have to be reasonable.

In order to get into any government job (federal, state or local) now days you need to have an “in”, like know someone already there or be a minority (preferably also a woman). Why do you think there are so many black women populating DMV and TSA jobs? Because they’re a two-fer! Government jobs have become the plum jobs everyone is trying to get now days as they offer job security, higher pay than private sector jobs and usually a retirement package (with medical!) that can’t be found in any private company.
