Thursday, May 3, is an annual observance set aside by Congress as the National Day of Prayer. It is a day for Americans to seek Gods guidance and blessing upon America and its leaders. On this day millions of people from coast to coast will pray to God on behalf of this nation individually or in prayer services.
However, before we pray, it would be wise for us to review the conditions that were set by God in 2 Chronicles 7:14: If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and change their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
If My people who are called by My name refers to the individual believer. God wants each of us to humble ourselves before Him, confess our sins, and change our wicked ways.
God does not always hear our prayers. Scriptural reasons for unanswered prayer include sinful living:
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear. ( Psalm 66:18) But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2) Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. (John 9:31) Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be heard. (Proverbs 21:13)

Thanks for posting.
With our shabby treatment of Isreal as of late how sure are any of us that we are still “His People”! Our historically kind treatment of Isreal is the ONLY reason G*D has not harshly judged this country. BUT IS IS COMING!
It absolutely is coming. It will be a total shock to most people. Our financial institutions, banking institutions and moral resolve are all in shambles. One big gust from the Almighty and this nation will collapse like a cheap lawn chair.
God knows the heart of those who seek Him, and those of us who back Israel. We, the believers are His people, not the state of America. It is us who are called to call on His Name, not the unbelievers, although it would bode them well to do the same! If we want to have a better than expected outcome in this election, we should commit to praying, daily. Who knows but that we still might not have a brokered convention and God raise up the RIGHT person for the job? We can do no less than pray.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, but would add a thought to what you say about this election. I read it off of a comment on some news article online, and can’t remember the author’s moniker - something like ‘Cathy M’. She asked: “What would have happened to the early church if it had put its trust and security into the hands of the Roman empire?”
Food for thought. Our citizenship is not here, and our ultimate loyalty is not vested in a vanishing republic and certainly not in its emerging police state successor. All nations are fleeting. Each soul is eternal.
May God grant repentance and redemption to Americans, and may he reward the principalities, powers and rulers of this New World Order with all they deserve.
