Nature is not nice - about 30 years ago we anchored for the night in a remote bay on Chicagof Island in Southeast Alaska, and witnessed about 20 bald eagles tearing apart an octopus who was trapped in a tide pool. They were stretching its legs out, flying around squawking with pieces of octo meat in their talons, along with a huge number of seagulls and ravens trying to get in on the action. It should have been on National Geographic, but we were the only people around.
