San Francisco businesses whose windows were broken by Occupy protesters and whose subsequently boarded-up buildings were spray-painted with graffiti by local hoodlums were advised by city officials that they would be fined $500 a day if the facilities are not put in acceptable condition within 30 days.
Rules are rules, said Otto Lawless, head of the Citys Zoning Enforcement Division. I have to do my job. Can you imagine how decrepit and dilapidated our city would look if I didnt.
Lawless said the affected businesses who feel that the police couldve done more to protect their property in the first place should quit their whining. Vandalism is just one of the costs of doing business in the city. Those who dont want to pay for it always have the option to get out of town.

This is satire????
With the Clown Prince in the White Hut, satire almost writes itself.
Oh, man. You do have talent.
I began to read that, and my BP shot right up...
If this happened in Greece, the government would tax the landowner 25% of the value of the unoccupied, vandalized property. This is not satire.
Mission District Street Art....want some cheese to go with that whine?
Yes it is satire. I had to double check too b/c my blood was beginning to coagulate.
Good one. Ulu hot my blood pressure up for a few seconds.
It probably is satire....and yet, in Houston, Mayor White actually did have a policy in place that penalized the victims of graffiti and vandalism by charging them a similar outrageous amount. Thus proving that truth is stranger than fiction when dealing with leftist Democrats.
Satire, of course, but just barely. In my town, if some graffiti “artist” chooses to deface my property (house, fence, porch, whatever), I have three days to clean it up or the city will come by and do it for me, charging me, naturally, union rates.
“Lawless” What a perfect name for this idiot!
