GenVeg: WTF?
Michelle Obama's Mirror ^ | 5-08-2012 | MOTUS

Have you heard about the GenVeg campaign? No, it’s not a new youth-vote drive. It’s a collaboration between Birdseye and Lady M to promote their frozen vegetables and her No Child’s Fat Behind program.

The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), which works with the private sector and its honorary chair First Lady Michelle Obama to end the childhood obesity crisis, today announced that Birds Eye, America's leading vegetable company, is launching a three-year effort to encourage kids to look at vegetables in a whole new way.

"Birds Eye understands that talking to kids differently about eating their vegetables is an important part of helping to change their eating habits.

And so, apparently, does the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, who wants the Wonce and Only to stop chowing down on unhealthy food in public. So that’s that: more veggies...

and no more dogs. At least not in public.

Having raised 5 children, I could tell them that kids either like veggies or they don’t.....

Who buys Birds Eye vegetables?? They’re the most expensive (along with Green Giant) vegetables at the grocery. Do people on public assistance buy these name brand items??

Gonna catch holy heck here for this.

Of all the things FLMO could be involved in, this is far from the worst.

Let’s face it - we as a nation are overweight, and it is costing us big time through our already socialist health care structure - be honest -and as long as laws aren’t passed or strings are attached, I don’t mind her using her status to use the bully pulpit on this issue.

I think if we criticize her for this, that is a loser in the eyes of the voting public.

Just saying.

Not that I buy overly expensive Birds Eye products but it’s now made it onto my Never Buy List.

I was at a bar this weekend for Cinco De Mayo playing wingman for my friend who was dating a new girl. She was with her friends who were total hippies, my friend a conservative, didn’t know this. Her friends were wearing plaid shirts and drinking PBR at this bar which was a hippie hangout. One of the guys announced to the group, “Hey guys guess what I did”? I went vegan this week and lost 9 pounds isn’t that awesome?” I shot my buddy a “what the hell” look, needless to say he dumped the girl shortly after that incident.

Calories are calories, if you eat 3000 calories a day in green beans you are going to be fat.

If you eat 1200 calories in nothing but meat and dairy you will lose weight.

Vegans ignore things like protein, they think humans are like herbavore gorillas....

What is hillarious is how many Raw food Vegans beleive in evolution, but they will not acknowledge the canine teeth staring them in the face when they look in mirror to brush their teeth everyday.

Humans are Omnivores and cooking food and eating meat are the reason WHY WE ARE SMARTER than the rest of the animal kingdom.

I wish I had a nickel for every pile of squash, beans, or peas I found stashed under the napkins/placemats/plates of my kids when they were growing up.

Believe it or not, I used to live in the "Valley of the Jolly Green Giant" (LeSeuer County, MN). Pretty place.
