Comparing VA/Obamacare

Veteran’s Insights into Government Run Healthcare and the Implications of Obamacare on Everyone Else

You cannot line each system up and make perfect comparisons but you can delineate basic failures within the V.A. system, and many other government programs, and come to the clear conclusion that setting ourselves down this path of dependency on government will do nothing but increase deficits and debt, while making decent free market healthcare even more expensive to get access to.

The author and my USMC Infantry son served together.

I have met him and would say he is truly a 'Marines' Marine'.

We have seen our co-pays for Tricare Life go up this year. And between Medicare and TFL we are now being turned away by doctors as new patients 0’care in action.

They pay the provider peanuts. Hubby’s 2 day stay in the ER for a BP SPIKE, because there was no room available at the small hospital was $25,000+, between Medicare and TFL they paid a little over $2,500, and we had a medicine co-pay on top of that.

Hospital had to eat the rest. Don’t get me wrong he had great care, but the fact they are paying the providers so little it is making it rough to find providers. Something is wrong with this picture.

My father was career Navy and I have heard a few stories about his care!

Not all bad.

My mother still thinks the Navy hospitals were FAR better.

The only people who want government health care are those who’ve never had it.

“The only people who want government health care are those who’ve never had it.”

Except Congress. Their Government-run health care is top of the line.

As the wife of a 24-year Air Force and Army veteran, I KNOW what Gov-run health care is like. We were promised health care for life when FrogDad joined in 1970. Of course, they reneged on that promise, but then the quality of the care received over the years is also another story.

I agree with everything this author says.
In our case, my DH served two tours in Viet Nam..as a result, he is rated at 80% disabled and paid at the 100% rate because he cannot work. Subsequent to this, he has been found to have additional medical complications due to exposure to AO..which is ischemic heard disease....it is acknowledged. I went in almost 2 years ago to get his rating established at 100%. It won’t affect his disability pay and that was fine...I just wanted him to have the 100% rating which he deserved because of benefits he may then be entitled to and because I DO NOT TRUST THIS GOVT NOT TO ROLL BACK HIS DISABILITY PAY TO THE 80% LEVEL DUE TO THE ECONOMIC MESS THIS NATION IS IN..HE PUT MORE SKIN IN THE GAME THAN ANY OF THE POLITICAL SKUNKS IN DC EVER THOUGHT OF DOING!!!!!
OBAMAEUTHINAZIA IS WHAT THIS SO CALLED HEALTH CARE IS REALLY ALL ABOUT.

Probably are. They had the best during WW2 as so many were drafted LOL. The few times I had to use their med facilities they did a great job...took out 2 wisdom teeth that were growing in side ways. Never got the other 2. It is only in the last decade or more we have let our VA care get to be the pits. We seen stories posted about the horrid conditions of military hospitals all to often.

To bad I can’t get a civilian surgery center shut down for not being up to hospital codes. To much demrat political pull. And Memphis is demrat controled lock stock and barrel.
