I teach hundreds of children, and they are constantly changing, as I teach music, all ages, all areas, all socioeconomic levels. In 13 years I have observed Two children who are “overweight”, and One who can be called obese. Perhaps there is an increase in weight amongst American Children, but the insane emphasis that is applied with a bludgeon by the government-media complex is overdone and inappropriate. Now Broward County is giving THREE Meals a Day to School Children, who have already had breakfast when they come to school, and after three taxpayer supplied meals, go home for yet ANOTHER one. This is NOT going to cure “Childhood Obesity”. In fact, it may be causing it!

Listened to a school nurse recently say she checked the BMI of overweight students back to when they entered school K-12..they came into school obese. They did not get that way from what was readily available at school.

Also I agreed with this article by a chef you may recognize and it seemed a good way to educate kids in a way that might also offer a career source with hands on learning of the culinary arts field-an explosion of interest by all ages readily avail. on certain networks. Enthusiasm in a class which could benefit a student in many ways.

I guess you could compare this scenario to the old Fish adage of the importance of the pole, not the fish.
