As it turns out, new research has determined that a judgmental attitude may just go hand in hand with exposure to organic foods. In fact, a new study published this week in the journal of Social Psychological and Personality Science, has found that organic food may just make people act a bit like jerks.

They were like that before they ate the food.

Yes, but like the organic seeds, they needed time to grow and blossom into full fledged jerks. If they drive a Prius it seems to act as fertilizer.

I’ve noticed this, especially in my wife’s friend, who is an organic foods advocate, but I know for a fact she’s a closet comfort food addict. I see junk food bags and wrappers stuffed under her car seats. Hahaha! If I was a mean person, I would really get her on that one....

Does organic food turn people into jerks?
Ted (or is that algore?) was an "organic" gardener.
Was he a jerk before or after he ate from his garden?

"At my local grocery, I sometimes catch organic eyes gazing into my grocery cart and scowling," says Sue Frause, a 61-year-old freelance writer/photographer from Whidbey Island. "So I'll often toss in really bad foods just to get them even more riled up."

Good idea. I'll try that...

Food fetishists are jerks.

Moral superiority doesn't come from the food you eat or the car you drive, whatever they think.

Lack of God seems to drive a lot of it.

Not necessarily, but they do make good fertilizer after the die.

I know lots of people who have gone organic, the ones who were jerks before still are and the ones who weren’t before still aren’t.

I vote reversing the order in this inference...
Jerks have a higher probability of choosing organic foods

Dear Moderator; I sincerely apologize for my inappropriate use of the slang term for human waste yesterday. It was because of all the salad I ate. Oh, shirt, I almost did it again.

Exactly, confusing symptoms with causes is a rookie mistake.

exactly...self obsessed folks ...who make great libs with tight orbits

i would exclude folks who do it for serious health reasons like cancer treatment or diabetes

if you really want to be toxin free then juice juice juice....and eat raw foods mainly ...and fish as your only meat

nothing else...sugar in raw forms like agave and no dairy

it will thin you out and throws cancer a curve ball

but it takes discipline and it’s not cheap really...we are talking a lot of juice

i could do it for a while but not for LaLanne years

you are what you eat but folks don’t need to be so self righteous about it

you are what you eat

I guess that's why, at my age, I can climb a tree like a squirrel, scale a fence like a racoon, swim like a fish, and sometimes just lay around like a vegetable.

This matches my experience with Union Square Market organic farmers. They are unbearably snobbish and elitist. I just silently buy my eggs and GO. Liberals are horrible snobs.

Just yesterday my sister got mad because I said the idea for organic farming in Detroit is idiotic. She assumed I was bashing organic gardening. What I really think is idiotic is the idea of farming organic or otherwise in the toxic soil of Detroit. Its especially true in a state covered with farmland now.

As far as organic gardening is concerned, I use mostly natural fertilizers and pesticides. I don’t go overboard and let the critters eat their fill. If natural ain’t workin, I turn to chemical warfare.
