Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett is threatening to keep President Obama’s name off the state’s ballot in November unless he receives confirmation from Hawaii that it has a valid birth certificate on file for him.
Bennett, who spoke to (Arizona radio host Mike Broomhead) Thursday, said he requested the confirmation eight weeks ago and has not gotten it. Hawaii, he said, does not have to supply a certified copy of the birth certificate, merely send him an email confirming that it has one.
Asked by Broomhead if he would remove Obama’s name from the ballot if Hawaii fails to comply, Bennett said: “That’s possible. Or the other option would be that I would ask all the candidates, including the president, to submit a certified copy of their birth certificate.”
Despite overwhelming evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii, the issue of his birth continues to dog him. Thursday, (Breitbart Big Government reported) on a promotional booklet by Obama’s own literary agency listing him as having been born in Kenya.
If his biography finally comes unraveled our government will be crisis mode. In order to regain trust in the system, wouldn’t the next president be forced to support a special prosecutor who would bring charges against those involved in the Obama-conspiracy?
I’m not predicting that, but it’s possible. I see nothing precluding Arizona charges as well. If I were an official in Hawaii I would not want to rely on the current corrupt regime to protect me from legal jeopardy.

And if all they have to do is say yes, there is a birth certificate (and not have to actually show it), why not just do that?

Anyway, as said before, it’s one think to say he’s a resident. It’s a completely different think to sign on the dotted line and vouch for it. A lot of people support things until their own ass is on the line. Especially true of progressives.
In theory, but in reality I doubt it. I think they'll just ignore the fact that every law and regulation for four years is illegitimate and go right back to what they were doing.

I don't think the bureaucracy any longer cares about 'trust in the system.' They'll just do what is necessary to perpetuate the myth, which is what they've been doing since Nixon ignored a stolen election.
I see nothing precluding Arizona charges as well.
Arizona has no jurisdiction for filing charges for a crime committed in Hawaii.

Not one official in all Hawaii is willing to certify Obama’s Hawaiian birth, not even their new commie governor Abercrombie who specificially said, “There are no birth documents for Obama in the Hawaiian vaults.” The don’t want to go to jail for falsifying by confirming, even. They will stonewall Arizona’s SOS...they’re already doing it by questioning his need for the document. They think by demanding that Arizona SOS’s need for proof that eventually he will have no Arizona law or regulations to back him up. I sure hope the Arizona SOS can find something that backs his ability to call for proof.
Even the DNC Hawaii would not certify to the Hawaiian SOS that Obama was qualified to serve. Nancy Pelosi herself had to sign a fraudulent statement and send it to the Hawaiian SOS to get Obama on the ballot.

They don’t have a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Obama. An affidavit was signed stating that by the man who was in charge of HI elections.

If this news report is accurate and complete (an unlikely miracle in itself,) this guy is showboating.
Up to now, such requests have been answered with, "Yes we confirm that we do have a birth certificate on file," without even a clumsy attempt to provide credible proof, or authentication by independent experts. Caarying about as much value as Nancy Pelosi, with no real knowlege or proof, merely stating that Obama was totally qualified.
It may be simply a desperate attempt at hiding gross incompetence in record-keeping on the part of Hawaii, or the more sinister "C" word.
It's a useless exercise as reported.
I DO believe that the qualifications for voting and candidacy is and should always remain a State function. The request is both legal and reasonable.
