*** PING ***
GO Newt GO! The man who should be President.
I so agree with you, and this is an excellent example of why. He can take an issue and make it simple to understand and logical. I've been trying to figure out why the “Republican Machine” wanted Romney over Gingrich. Could it be 1) looks; 2) able to raise more money; 3) of course, Gingrich's “baggage” will be touted, but that doesn't seem feasible, otherwise they would have gone with Santorum or Bachmann.
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction; it’s not something we pass along in our bloodstream.
It must be fought-for, protected, and passed-along for them to do the same” Ronald Reagan
He was. You’ve just shown that the media can program your mindset, sadly. This same Newt has had all his ideas and data available, for any who would get beyond the media programming. This is the same newt , you’re just now realizing what he stands for while the facts have been available from the start, for those not at the mercy of the media vermin.
Because the Republican Machine is driven by RINOism and Romney is an uber RINO and Newt isn't. Just that simple.
The RNC knows that should Newt become President he will try and restrain government and trim/cut government programs. That would mean (horror of horrors) a reduction in the RNC's power. Can't have that. By promoting Romney they get a guy that will pretty much leave things the way they are or maybe promote a few more poorly thought out government programs.
Think of private equity as capitalism’s rescue squad.
Too bad, but Newt would have ripped this corrupt communists leaning Federal Government to pieces. Romney hasn’t the knowledge or will to do the same. If America gets Romney, only a very small portion of the corruption the communists Democrats will be overturned. Romeny just doesn’t get it.
Obama looks at Bain as a gift from Romney, a way for him to focus his war on Capitalism, without admitting that is his goal. If Obama were a little smarter, and less a leftist ideologue, he would back out of this trap, but he can’t.
Greta line. I just wish it came from somebody who hadn’t attacked Romney for Bain Capital....
Greta = Great
Stupid Party.
As you may know I was a big Newt supporter, and the only explanation I can offer is that Gingrich is his own man... Romney will do what the party tells him to do
This election called for someone that can clearly explain/sell conservatism to a politically bewildered populace, just as the Gipper did.
Alas, the RNC chose to help destroy Gingrich instead... what class he has then to offer his unqualifed support and formidable communication skills to the Romney campaign, a REAL team-player.
If you look back, Newt ONLY went negative on Romney when forced to... this is the same FHS Gingrich that led in Iowa and won in NC. I’m not so sure I could have forgiven Mitt for what he did in FLA, but none of us want it to be Obama... so here we are.
GO GET ‘EM Mr Speaker
Well put
Thanks!
You post nonsense. Newt's Florida campaign was terrible. He bashed Romney over Bain and pushed himself as a pandering moon-base futurist. Had Newt come off of the SC win with a positive, responsible economic and national security platform and stuck with it he might not have dropped like a rock. After SC, Romney portrayed Newt as an unreliable self-seeking opportunist and Newt did his part to drive that message home.
Apparently you think you are the only one not played like a puppet by the media. I see no reason to agree with you on this.
Yeah -- helloooo all you Newt idolizers. Criticizing Bain Capital may not have been the cause of his downfall, but it happened simultaneously. Newt is brilliant, in a patronizingly hypocritical and inconsistent sort of way.
And, yes, his defense is very good. Give me just one reason why I should think he believes it given what he said just a couple months ago.
Newt's campaign debts needed to be paid.
Your Alinskyesque methodology betrays your agenda (freeze the traget and isolate, accusing me of believing I’m ‘the only one not played like apuppet’). So, you came not to praise Newt but to bury him. Are you afraid he might be important in beating little barry bastard commie?
You both have made excellent points. Yes, I agree that Newt is the bigger man to now, after the negative campaigning by Romney in Florids, back Romney. I live in Florida, and out of 9 consecutive commercials, 8 would be bashing Newt, one would be positive. The mute button came in awfully handy.
Reaganite Republican, both Bachmann and Palin (especially Palin) could explain the conservative stand, but I’ve thought they were dismissed by the RNC because they are women. America is not ready for a Margaret Thatcher. I have wondered if this is why Sarah Palin decided not to run. The last 3 times I saw her on T.V. before she announced she wasn’t running, she looked sad/tired/ill/??? She said her family was for her running, and she certainly generated enthusiasm among Americans. This is the only reason I can think of why she didn’t run. I read where she told Michelle “it’s not (her) time yet”. Isn’t that what they told Romney in 2008?
All I can think of with Romney is “Obama lite”.
Thanks
Actually, I was a Palinista from Nov 2008, and wrote about the first Palin 2012 post I’ve ever seen back then-

I decided before most she wasn’t going to run, so I was backing Bachmann until she really fell apart, I jumped ship to Newt when he gathered momentum at hers and Perry’s expense.

Sounds like we took an identical path, interesting
As a defense hawk, I can’t stand Ron Paul- so now it’s down to the default setting I guess lol
And if he hadn’t taken the opposite tack with Bain back in January, and argued the opposite of what he is now, he might well be our nominee.
The paths are similar.
I went for Bachman, then Cain, then Newt. Never could get into Perry.
Sure wish we had somebody better than Myth.
Hopefully, God willing, we’ll keep the House and take back the Senate.
Sorry, should have mentioned... voted for Newt in the SC primary.
Bump for Newt!
In the article he says attacking Bain failed for Perry and it failed for him, and he can’t figure out why Obama thinks it’ll win for him. So in that sense, it works coming from someone who attacked Romney for Bain Capital.
I agree. Romney is not my first, or even my 5th choice, but he is head and shoulders better than Obama. Personally, I feel we have lost the best candidates by loses in the primaries (Palin was my first choice, but she didn't run; Newt; Cain; Bachmann; Santorum; Perry). What bothers me is when people say “I'm not going to vote for Romney”. This is so foolish. By doing that, they are essentially giving Obama their vote. I've tried explaining this to people, and they look at me like I have lost it.
The RINO Party's political identity centers around its ability to "work with" Democrats. This requires that they maintain the fiction that "working with" Democrats is necessary and desirable. The worst thing that could happen for a RINO would be for the public to realize refusing to work with Democrats would be better than trying to "work with" them to implement their agenda less badly.
