Israel is equipping German-built submarines with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles

JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Israel is equipping submarines built in Germany with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles, according to an in-depth report in Der Spiegel magazine.

The magazine also reported Sunday that the German government has known about Israel's nuclear weapons program for decades, despite its official denials.

Last month, Israel received its fourth Dolphin–class submarine from Germany, which is slated to become operational in 2013.

Not much is known about Israeli nuclear weapons. The Israelis wanted to buy Tomahawks from the USA in 2000 but Clinton refused. I think they are now using a variant of the Popeye Turbo missile. Range of 1,500 km. More than enough to hit anywhere in Iran.

Some have suggested this sounds like nuclear war. Which is pretty dang scary - but not too unlikely given the players of Iran, Pakistan and very possibly Mother Russia.

Of course, in Zechariah 14, *all* nations come against Jerusalem, which is a very, very bad idea.

http://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=plague+jerusalem&qs_version=KJV

Zechariah 14:12

And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite
all the people that have fought against Jerusalem;
Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet,
and their eyes shall consume away in their holes,
and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

But the war of Psalm 83 comes before the war of Zechariah 14, so there will not likely be any Arab or Persian armies left to take part in the events Of Zechariah 14.

Many of them tried in 2009(?). They were killing them in the streets and jailing them.

There is a small percentage of Jews in Iran and Christians as well.

The crazy mullahs are setting the stage for Ezekiel 38.

Iran, Libya, Turkey, etc. will all survive long enough for Ezekiel 38.

That’s for certain (not saying you disagree, but for the thread lurkers).

Ezekiel 38 is the war of the Latter Years and Latter Days (vvs. 8 and 16).

Yes, I don’t think this is news.

AFAIK what is kind of news (at least in the eyes of Der Spiegel) is that they now can prove that the German government has known for quite some time while at the same time publicly stating the opposite. The missiles not so much, that has been an open secret for years.

What would they do with 72 virgins, anyway? If they stay virgins forever, it would get real boring having sex with someone who each time forgets everything and cries for the pain of it, and you can’t dump her, because all 72 of them are the same. If they don’t stay virgins forever, do they eventually also get fat and grow facial hairs? Do their mothers come visit, and yell at you for not taking out the trash? What if all 72 ex-virgins are not in the mood, need cheering up and to feel appreciated, or are on the rag, all at the same time? And this is 72 we’re talking about. You call it Satanic, I just call it real stupid. That’s not paradise. It would very quickly become hell. The poor devils would in desperation turn to the “boys like pearls” eventually, and who knows what that would be like? Anyway, why do they believe that all paradise is is one big f@#$-fest? Can’t they also drink beer or something, and thereby reverse the old polka song?

You must mean Ezekiel 39; the Ezekiel 38 attack comes at the end of the millenium, when Israel is living in peace and safety without walls or other defenses.

Note the differences in the condition of Israel between the two chapters. They are definitely not talking about the same war.

Turkey and the African nations may survive for Ezekiel 39, but I seriously doubt that Iran will.

I heard some say it’s more than 72. They regain their virginity and there are banquets with alcohol and excessive food.

In the koran they are called the dark-eyed houris.

Disagree. The Gog-Magog at the end of the Millennial Reign comes from the 4 corners of the Earth.

The Ezekiel 38 war has specific nations attacking and some nations protesting (but apparently not doing anything).

Guess we will find out how it goes, eventually.

Well, according to one European researcher, it’s not Virgins at all. Working on the assumption that the koran was really not in Arabic but Aramaic, it would seem to be *72 raisins*.

Which is hardly more than a snack.

Good for the Israelis!

Especially if the boat is diesel powered. Much harder to hunt, prosecute and fine than a nuclear boat.

Park it within striking distance of Mecca and Medina.

“Park it within striking distance of Mecca and Medina.” Jerusalem to Mecca is only 1200 Kilometers. Israel could hit Mecca, Medina and Riyadh from their home port. I sleep good at night knowing that.

Yes, this has been known for many years already. It is part of Israel’s multi- dimensional package of defense weapons and delivery systems, and is there because of the obvious reasons. If even a small portion of all this is ever really needed, it will result in Alluh very quickly running out of reward-virgins. Perhaps, though, he issues rain-checks?

The Dolphin-class boats have six 21-inch torpedo tubes and four 25.5-inch tubes. These boats can carry a mix of 16 torpedoes and Popeye Turbo SLCM (sub launched cruise missiles). Popeye turbo carries a 440 lb. nuclear warhead, flies at Mach 0.9, and has a range of 932 miles. Four of these boats loaded with nuclear tipped SLCMs constitute a powerful first strike weapon against Iran. The Dolphin-class boats are very quiet and hard to detect. It's unlikely the Iranians would be able to detect them either before or after the launch of their missiles.

nuclear war [...] not too unlikely given the players of Iran, Pakistan and very possibly Mother Russia.

Israel has no enemies outside of Muslim countries and the White House. About 1/4 of Israel's population are former citizens of USSR. There are close contacts between Israel and Russia, and in general I'd say there is an agreement. For example, Russia scrapped the sale of S-300 missiles to Iran. Both countries are ran by pragmatists, and while Putin may have a different opinion on things he understands who in the world thinks in the same way. The USA, however, is ran by socialists with an agenda to change the world.

USSR supported arabs and was anti-Israel. That was due to the divided world. The West had Israel, so that chip was already taken. USSR had to take whatever was left, even if it was not very good (and it wasn't.) Also note that USSR did not have problems with Muslims - nobody outside of Israel had them at that time. But things changed; in Russia, for example, there is no love lost for fundamentalist Muslims after Afghanistan and Chechen wars.

On the other end of the spectrum the USA is now aligning with Israel's enemies. Obama made sure, for example, that a relatively stable and well contained regime of Gaddhafi - who had no beef with anyone in decades - was replaced with AQ and MB who now have all the war materiel of Libya. Wonder what they need that for? Now consider demolition of Israel-friendly Egypt and a continuing attempt to replace Assad in Syria. Assad is not a dove, but he understands that his own hide is at stake and he does not make waves. Israel bombed his nuclear site, or whatever it was, and Assad was silent. He did nothing at all; he knew that he gambled and lost, and he accepted that. He is someone Israel can deal with. AQ, once they win in Syria, will have no qualms, and you cannot threaten AQ personally.

And it’s based in DC with many of its talking heads having British accents. Kinda of a Pravda BBC, though that’s almost redundant much of the time.
