George Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watch volunteer charged with murder in the killing of Trayvon Martin, surrendered to police Sunday and was booked into a central Florida jail two days after his bond was revoked.

Zimmerman's legal team said in a tweet Sunday afternoon that he was in police custody. Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester revoked Zimmerman's bond on Friday, saying the defendant and his wife had lied to the court in April about their finances so he could obtain a lower bond.

About 40 minutes before the 2:30 p.m. Sunday deadline to surrender, the Seminole County jail website listed Zimmerman as an inmate....

I'm starting to doubt that he'll live through this. Probably should've headed for his mother's home country, Peru, when this all started to go south. There is NO WAY he's going to get a fair trial.

He has absolutely no business being in a jail cell, period. Outrageous miscarriage of justice.

You may be right. All it takes is paying off the right corrections officer to be doing something else, and a NBPP plant who is already in the joint for a long time shanks GZ.

Hell, there are probably hundreds of black inmates that would love to have the “street cred” in killing this guy.

The Zimmerman Railroad rolls on...

Can See B.S. "news" provide me with a direct quote? Because I am willing to bet GZ will NEVER be charged with perjury.

As far as the racist Leftists and especially the racist African American Leftists are concerned, George Zimmerman is no different than that serial killer of blacks, Jeffrey Dahmer.

And they want him to meet the same jailhouse fate.

This is a total outrage. But then again, so is Frank Fuster still rotting in a Flori-duh prison cell for imaginary ****....

Also, this is part of the pressure tactics to get Zimmerman to agree to a plea bargain before trial. If he has to stay in jail for a year before trial and through a very lengthy murder trial, there will be great incentive to agree to a less charge. Also, the prosecutor might threaten to indict his wife as additional motivation.

He lied to the judge.

I don’t think he is guilty of murder, or any crime.

But he is stupid.

He shouldn’t be in a position to be having to answer such questions in the first place.

The purpose of bond is to assure his appearance in court. It isn’t a farm auction at the local fairgrounds.

I saw a report over the weekend that said the money in question is for his defense only and can’t be used for bail. So how much money he had available for bail was not incorrect. I thought bail was set based on your flight risk and the crime in question. Not your ability to pay.

He has proven that he is no flight risk. Good people will just keep on sending money.

I look for him to be killed in jail.

Its easier to deal with that than take him to trial.

The account was mentioned in court and the wife said she didn't know how much was in there and that was truthful. All the judge had to do was to say..."get me a number". Sorry...judge had a plan...

Just as bad as Duke!!!

Actually, it’s worse than that. When asked, she said she was unsure of the amount and suggested that they should contact his brother? who was overseeing the account because he would know the amount. NO ONE ever bothered to call the brother. They didn’t want the answer. They wanted an issue.

There is NO WAY he's going to get a fair trial.

If the judge denies him bail, then he is well on the way to denying him a fair trial.

You're right. I believe that this is a situation where his attorney failed him. He should have had all questions about his financial situation directed to him. After all what is he -- just window decoration or a potted plant???
