Dem analysts (including O’Malley) came on TV tonight to explain that Walker’s win is not a problem for Obama in WI this November, because exit polls showed that many of the Walker voters would vote for Obama in November. However, the exit polling tonight was way off. If the exit polls had been representative of the voting, Barrett would have come very close to beating Walker.
That’s why the networks didn’t call the election for Walker sooner.
NBC did a good job of calling it less than an hour after polls closed with only 20% counted. In a way it helped the libs (Maddow, Schultz and O Donnell) on MSNBC stopping them from their silly sounding victory talk.
Unions wasted their resources on this huge defeat while getting the GOP to develop an organization capability to use against Obama in November. This was a disaster for them.
If I was Romney or GOP or better yet Rove and CO, I would run ads in Dem areas of WI reminding them how Obama abandoned them and they lost.
Want to crush the other side?? Then demoralize their voting base while motivating/inspiring yours; although Obama appears to be doing a GREAT job motivating Republican voters against him. If you want Romney to win you have to lower Democrat demographic turnout and it must be done carefully to not backfire.
The people saw the economy, as well as the state debt turning around, and voted their pocketbooks. November? It will be interesting.
