(CNN) -- Last month's Supreme Court decision in the landmark Arizona immigration case was groundbreaking for what it omitted: the words "illegal immigrants" and "illegal aliens," except when quoting other sources. The court's nonjudgmental language established a humanistic approach to our current restructuring of immigration policy.
When you label someone an "illegal alien" or "illegal immigrant" or just plain "illegal," you are effectively saying the individual, as opposed to the actions the person has taken, is unlawful. The terms imply the very existence of an unauthorized migrant in America is criminal.
In this country, there is still a presumption of innocence that requires a jury to convict someone of a crime. If you don't pay your taxes, are you an illegal? What if you get a speeding ticket? A murder conviction? No. You're still not an illegal. Even alleged terrorists and child molesters aren't labeled illegals.
By becoming judge, jury and executioner, you dehumanize the individual and generate animosity toward them. New York Times editorial writer Lawrence Downes says "illegal" is often "a code word for racial and ethnic hatred."

How about fraud. How about thief? That is hat they are. They steal from the tax payers and are frauds as to their right to reside ib=n the country. they commit theft from people by taking jobs they are not qualified to do, and lowerinbg the wages of everyone else.

So what should one call an alien that is in this country illegally? Undocumented immigrant is incorrect. Undocumented worker? Let’s not EVEN go there. Surely they have some documents somewhere and they are invaders not immigrants. They have documents in our welfare and voter registration offices as well as most police stations.
When you label someone a flaming A-hole, you are effectively saying that it’s the individual himself as opposed to something he just said.

Mark my words folks, this game plan of controlling the debate by dictating the terminology used and the meaning of the terms, has been very successful for the left. It works even better when you have spineless, milksop morons like Republicans that are so clueless in a debate they don’t even realize it is happening.
He who controls the language, controls and wins the debate. That’s what NewSpeak is all about. I hate Republicans, they are so stupid.
They are NOT “undocumented workers”. They falsify documentation and get work, vote, get welfare bennies...
And then they wire BILLIONS of dollars back HOME to Mexico.

If you are a convicted felon, you are “branded” criminal, not merely the action you once took and the punishment you served.
Fill out an application for work and you’ll have to fess up (unless you run for elected office).
The girl in charge of the “drop the I-word” campaign [as in Illegal immigrant] went on the O’Reilly Factor on Fox, and he destroyed her.
He just asked her, “If you were the czar, what law would you put into place? Would you allow anyone who came here to stay?”
She filibustered, but had no answer. She would not answer.
O’Reilly commented that she hadn’t thought it through.
I still don’t buy into the red state thing.
The Village “People” may have screwed that pooch one too many times.
