Obama in a Big Hurry to Sign Oppressive UN 'Small Arms Treaty' (Next Month!)
Reaganite Republican ^ | Reaganite Republican

Posted on 07/05/2012 11:16:55 AM PDT by Reaganite Republican

Obama and Holder are enamored of it... Hillary Clinton commited us to it... all they need now is Dear Leader's signature/ratification by
Harry Reid's Senate and the US populace has forever forfeited a significant chunk of it's 2nd Amendment rights.

Specifically, what's all this mean?

If passed by the UN and ratified by the U.S. Senate, the
UN Small Arms Treaty will likely FORCE the U.S. to:

As the despicable Obama regime does all it can possibly imagine to restrict and intimidate us re. our 1st Amendment rights, we simply can't afford to lose our 2nd Amendment rights...
they're almost all we got between us and total tyranny now- not to mention poor AZ ranchers facing battalion-sized drug running gangs armed with AK-47's or worse right in their yard.

What to do?

1) Join the NRA, if you haven't already.. even if you currently do not own a firearm -here-

2) Call your Senator and say don't even think about it... -here-

What a crying shame patriots are forced to fight our own president just to preserve what were once 'inalienable rights'...

My opinion is, he guarantees his loss in November if he signs it, and hordes of people will descend on Washington do protest and PREVENT the Senate from even considering ratification. Signing this treaty IS treason!!!!!!! IMHO

I would imagine the Hiliary;s and The Amateur’s careers are toast for even coming up with this crap! And not to mention all those in Congress that would vote for it!

In the US, the treaty power is a coordinated effort between the Executive branch and the Senate. The President may form and negotiate a treaty, but the treaty must be advised and consented to by a two-thirds vote in the Senate. Only after the Senate approves the treaty can the President ratify it

I'm pretty sure there will never be 2/3rd of the senate willing to consent to this POS treaty. Hopefully we can make it even more unlikely in 2012.

Not even close! It would GUT the 2A in its entirety.

If the Senate ratifies it, this country is completely lost. It will be the final straw. My predictions about martial law will come to fruition very shortly after signing.

IF it passes, every Senator who voted for it should swing. This is a blatant and very obvious circumvention of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution and would constitute treason of the highest order and in the strongest terms possible.

I am preparing my heart, my soul, my family, and my friends for what is coming, folks. I hope you are doing the same.

Good luck getting 2/3 of the Senate to vote for that ...

This is also a great example of why the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed.

It used to be that Senators represented the state governors. They were appointed much the same way that the SCOTUS justices are.

Popular elections mean the whims of a fickle majority are on the table.

Our sentiments were very similar during the Obamacare debates.

Look where that ended up.

People can be bought with both power and money. All it would take is a few billion of promises to each Senator, and our freedom, the very soul of our republic, would be signed away with the stroke of the pen.

” CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL ‘unauthorized’ civilian firearms (yet firearms owned by the government are excluded, of course!)

BAN the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons

Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun CONFISCATION.”

Anyone that tries to follow through with that is only committing suicide.

Infringe on my Rights, don’t dare complain when I remove yours. Sorry but try to take my guns and we will have a war and while you may eventually win against me, is the cost you will endure worth it?

Agreed, this is our last best hope... yet Hillary committed, sound to me like they plan on ramming it through somehow

A call to your Senator can’t hurt, eh-

VIGILANCE, people!

This is true of a lot of ridiculous "treaties," but I don't think Harry Reid will ever have 67 votes to ratify. I find it interesting the #1 course of action recommended by the article is "Join the NRA." Hah!

Ratified by the Senate?

2/3 vote of the Senate?

I don't think so. NRA scare tactics. But that's OK with me. The NRA is on the right side of the law and the Constitution.

“2/3 vote of the Senate?”

Easy. Put the bill in some student loan thing, and use 51 votes or reconciliation to pass it.

Reid can kill the 67 votes pretty simply.

I understand that any “Treaty” must be approved by Congress. Anyone have further info?

Those are the key words here - "will likely." This treaty hasn't even been written. Supporters say that it will relate only to international arms sales, and specifically won't affect domestic firearms ownership. I'm willing to wait and see what the treaty ultimately says before supporting/opposing it.
