Posted on 07/13/2012 3:16:43 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet
Mrs. 2ndDivisionVet has finally wrangled the transfer we were hoping for for several years. Her company transferred her to their Denton, Texas store. We don't know anyone in that area, so we were hoping that maybe someone here at FR would know their way around North DFW. If anyone knows of a house, duplex/triplex/fourplex, mobile home, condo, townhome, guest home or apartment for rent within commuting distance (leass than 15-20 miles from Denton) that would be about $700 or less...
You might want to think about Argyle, which is just to the Southwest of Denton.
I live in Flower Mound, so I am somewhat familiar with Denton County, although I don’t get up to Denton all that much. But I love living here.
Welcome to Texas!
Watch for areas that cater to party-oriented college students - there are two Universities in town. Things will probably be more affordable in the more rural areas to the north and west - east and southeast are going to be in the Dallas suburbs. Gainesville sounds like it would be farther than you would like, but Sanger might be a possibility. With a large pool of renters, you might have difficulty finding something suitable in that range in Denton.
If you zoom in you can toggle back and forth between map and satellite view.
If you click on a property you can drill down to the most recent appraised value and the recent history of market values graphed for the home, the neighborhood, the city, county or the state. In some locales all selling prices for prior transactions and the dates are shown.
What’s the zip code of the store?
That might be helpful.
” I live in Flower Mound,”
There really is a Flower Mound? I’ve been searching for that my whole life.. ;0)
Sorry, that’s a bit distant from me.
Welcome to TX 2DV!
Yeah, but I heard you get around some. :-)
I didn't realize till I looked at the map it was that far from FW.
Welcome to Texas!
North Denton county is very beautiful especially around the Lake Ray Roberts area and there are a lot of small communities around up there that would be an easy commute to Denton (<20 miles). I live in a wide spot in the road called Krugerville just 8 minutes from Denton. Nice, quiet community with lots of friendly people.
I would be happy to help you however I can. Just send me a FReepmail!
nice little town and atmosphere. Good churches. Good location.
Rentals in Denton are a bit high due to the colleges. Lewisville, etc higher. There are condos that might rent in that range in Denton. Sanger and Krum have cheaper rents, about 10 minutes out. Ou might consider a manufactured home as a rental nit. Suggest ou come down and stay at one of the extended stay motels in Denton, and go look. Right now the rental availability is good, but will tighten up as Sept approaches. Good luck
Great news Fred! Gina and I wish you the best. Thanks for everything.
