Skip to comments.(VANITY) Please pray for my sister and family - Stage IV cancer, urgent
Posted on 07/17/2012 12:55:40 PM PDT by the OlLine Rebel
My sister Barb has cancer on the brain now. According to her doctors today, she is in dire need of care. Part of the roller coaster of the last few days (especially for me, because I was dead-set against it) is that she has abandoned regular medicine and has gone in for the "naturopath" route of tons of supplements and the like.
Now we need to confront her and get her to change her mind. The doctors told her husband it is imperative; time is of the essence. Time is exactly a prime reason I'm against playing around with "alternatives".
I'm praying we can get her to take what she needs to give her more time. Her girls need her longer, too.
My mother is already obviously (over the phone) a mess about all this.
P.S.: Please pray for her son Rutger, as well, as they were rear-ended badly just the other day and Rutger is in much pain and having trouble speaking. As if there isn't enough going on!
Prayers going up for Barbara!!
They and you all are in my prayers.
We pray for all those undertaking chemotherapy “chemo. the use of medicines or drugs to treat disease, that the Lord will work out His perfect will in your situation and bring about healing. We ask that The Great Physician will heal all those that have undergone surgery and radiation therapy and that the fire of God will destroy all the cancer cells. We speak peace to all the patients and ask the healing virtue of Our Lord God will flow through every vein, tissue, cell, ligament and that healing will manifest. We believe that Gods desire is manifest in your life. His desire is written in 3 John 2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along. We speak peace to all the families having cancer patients. We speak uncommon provisions to cater for all the expenses needed to take care of the patients. We destroy every generational curses and declare that they will not continue but the blessings of God will overshadow each and every one of you. We are in agreement with Gods word in Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds declares the LORD. So be it, in Jesus Name.
Prayers for Barbara. The natural way is not the way to go for Stage 4. This is . . from experience.
Prayers for your Sister. May God give her healing.
Prayers are on their way!
Prayers for your sister and your family. May the lord look over you all.
We are in agreement with Gods word in Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds declares the LORD. So be it, in Jesus Name.
Amen. I stand in agreement with you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Prayers for Barbara and Rutger, and also for you OiLine Rebel, that you may give good counsel and receive the peace and steadiness in this trial that God can give you!
Our Father comfort and guide this family in a time of troubles. Bless them with Your Healing Love.
We ask this in Your Name,
Prayers have been sent for you and your family.
I am praying for your sister —and all of your family.
Cancer is such a dreadful thing, and apparently, the cure just can’t be found.
Thank all of you so much! Thank God for my FR!
I told Barb what I thought yesterday - I don’t want to be accused of just being a yes-man and not warning anyone and making her “feel good”. But it looks like all of us have to be no-men today.
My most heartfelt prayers for your sister, Barb.
I am going through something similar now with my deeply beloved girlfriend, whose breast cancer has metastasized to her spinal fluid. She has moved in with me so I can take care of her full time, and I completely empathize with you about how scary and heartbreaking this whole miserable process is.
Watching her go though this, and seeing the horrific effects of this second round of surgical, chemical and radiation treatments she is undergoing, I can understand the difficulty of deciding what the best course of action is in terms of treatment.
For the time being, my girlfriend is undergoing oral chemo which is expected to continue indefinitely, but if it fails and more drastic intervention is the only remaining option, I can well understand the choice to forego further medical treatment.
I am giving my girlfriend as much care and love as I possibly can now in the hope that she will continue to believe it is worth hanging on. I pray for restoration of her strength and for her recovery all day every day. But seeing the wreckage of this once vibrant and accomplished woman, I will not fault her if she eventually reaches the point where she decides to just let go and pass on in comfort and love.
If that happens, I will be there to hold her hand when she passes, and I know I will never be the same for having finally found such deep true love only to lose it after only a few short years together.
My heart aches for you, you sister and her family, and my prayers are certainly with you.
Prayers for Barb, you and all of your family....hard hard times.....
Praying for Barbara and her son.
What odds for the effectiveness of conventional medical treatment have the doctors given her?
“Now we need to confront her and get her to change her mind. The doctors told her husband it is imperative; time is of the essence. Time is exactly a prime reason I’m against playing around with “alternatives”. “
First, my condolences and prayers.
Second, she should have tried natural approaches first.
Having said that, it’s her life. If she can live and die with whatever dignity she chooses. I support her choice.
Prayers up for Barbara and her loved ones.
Praying for healing for Barb, and for comfort and strength for all of you. God bless.
It is about quality of life, not quantity, when dealing with this dreadful disease.
And that you know when to motivate her ... and when to support her decision... without adding to her (and your) fear and guilt and pain
Hospice workers can be a Godsend, people she (and you) can talk to honestly
Your post broke my heart. I’ll be keeping your girlfriend, and you, in my prayers.
Prayers for your sister and family.
I have no info now. Perhaps I will hear it from my BIL tonight.
This has all happened so fast. All I know is my parents called me 2hr ago and told me BIL talked with the doctor - my mother is a mess - and dad said something about there not being much time, period; that we need to have an “intervention” ASAP, if you will. So I know little except told to come help.
I am scared no matter what, because I know my friend’s mother had virtually the same thing and died within months of finding it on her brain.
Prayers up, of course. God bless you and yours. BTT.
Thank you most sincerely for your prayers and for your kind expression of sympathy.
Sorry to hear what you are going through... and to the poster of this thread as well. I never take for granted my good health. None of us should.
Prayers up for God’s grace, wisdom and strength. Do you know the actual diagnosis? Would this happen to be a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor?
Sometimes a combination of conventional and holistic therapies work better than either one alone (”complementary medicine”, although it’s not easy to find a doc who embraces both). Prayers and best wishes for your family!
You’re very welcome. God bless you both.
Prayers for your sister, all of your family, and you, as well.
My brother lost his wife to breast cancer through the same mistake. There are "cancer centers" throughout the country where the care provided is not based on any sort of science. One wonders how these "hospitals" get licensed...
Prayers for your sister, your mother and family are on the way. Keep the faith, all will be as it should be.
PS My father died of cancer when he was 53, my Mother died of cancer at 60, my eldest brother died of cancer, my next oldest brother has so far survived cancer as have I. I was 53 when diagnosed and am currently 68. I know what you are going through.
May God hold her in the palm of His hand.
Prayers for her. But in case the worst happens, and before she is unable to answer, ask her who got her onto that seldom successful regimen that may end up shortening her life.
And sue the pants off of them.
Barbara has been on my prayer list for months now, and I know what a jolt this twist is to your whole family. I will continue to pray, and ask that she makes what will be the best decisions for her health, for her quality of life, and for her loved ones. My heart and prayers go out to all of you.
“The natural way is not the way to go for Stage 4.
“What odds for the effectiveness of conventional medical treatment have the doctors given her?”
Conventional medical treatment has little or no chance with Stage 4 cancer. When the doctor sends the patient home or to hospice and tells them to get their afairs in order, the right alternative treatments offer a 50% recovery rate. There are several good Stage 4 treatments, and the choice is sometimes based on where the cancer is located.
Conventional medical treatment has, overall, less than a 90% success rate with all cancers, regardless of stage.
Alternative treatments offer a 95% success rate for early stage cancers, and a 50% success rate for late stage, no hope cancers.
There is a problem with alternative treatments...there should be someone to guide the patient/client. Often a cancer patient, or family members will go ‘alternative’ and not get it right. Coaching is absolutely important. There are many resources for alternative treatments, and it does not mean going to Mexico.
In this case I would look for an MD or DO who does Intravenous Vitamin C therapy at very high doses, with treatments twice a week. Dosage usually starts out at 25,000 mg per treatment, and builds to as much as 150,000 to 200,000 mg. In Australia it is common to go to 300,000 mg.
Your sister and her son are in my prayers.
Prayers up for Barbara, for her son, and all of her family, and for you.
Prayers being said for your sister and family,
May the Peace of the Holy Spirit be with them.
In agreement with your prayer.
Prayers out for Barb that the Lord brings her healing, strength and comfort and brings strength and comfort to you and your family to help her through this.
God bless you all.
Prayers for your sister and nephew’s health and healing.
Thank you so much for your prayers! I am so sorry you are struggling with this for your poor dear girlfriend. It is bittersweet to hear you are so faithful to her. God bless you and her!
