Ann Coulter: OBAMA'S SIGNATURE MOVE: UNSEALING PRIVATE RECORDS

Mitt Romney presents one enormous problem for Barack Obama's campaign: No divorce records. That's why the media are so hot to get their hands on Romney's tax records for the past 25 years. They need something to "pick through, distort and lie about" -- as the Republican candidate says.

Obama's usual campaign method, used in 100 percent of his races, has been to pry into the private records of his opponents.

I know Ann Coulter may have gone off the rails some lately, but these points I think really hit it out of the park. Stay strong on this Mitt!!

Yet ALL of Obomas records are sealed.

Romney should just say "I'll show you my paperwork if you show me your paperwork." I year of tax returns in exchange for his Harvard theses.

That would be great. It would sound fair to the voters, too. They never got to read his theses, or see any of his college records.

People would become quite curious - especially if Romneys request was denied. What is Oboma hiding?.

I’ve had my own disagreements with Ann Coulter during the Primaries. Her guy won, mine didn’t, Ok, Water over the dam.

She’s made a great point this time. And because Mitt Romney is pretty much squeeky clean the Obama Re-election team and their sycophants are going to have a much tougher time in finding dirt. Now they’ll have to manufacture it.

And for anyone on the Romney team reading this. I want you to kick their teeth in, (Rhetorically), and have to gum their food for the rest of their lives. No Mr. Nice Guy, any and all slander, libel or untruth’s need to be attacked directly and the one saying them needs to pay and pay dearly.

That’s the language that those who practice the “Chicago Way” understand and respect.

Romney should just say "I'll show you my paperwork if you show me your paperwork."

I believe that proposition has been put forward before, maybe by someone other than Romney.

Guess how much air time the left loving MSM gave it.

Do it again, only this time have Romney do it. A simple request, simply out of curiosity. They can exchange info "fairly". It's only right the voters know who they both really are, right? Let's play "fair." (voters seem to like that word)

It will be interesting to see if Obama can pick the lock of the famously guarded IRS.

At first I thought Romney should release more than 2 years but now I don't. It's obvious they have sent out Reid to create hysteria because they can't get the records out and they have finally realized Romney's not releasing more than the 2.

By the end of September people will tire of hearing about the tax records.

Not really. Ever since Romney's old man ran for President it's been customary for candidates to release their tax records from the last 10 to 28 years.

I didn't hear where anyone was considered "too rich to show", did you?

Even though you and I and Ann know there's nothing in there that's bad, his abrupt refusal to adhere to custom raises suspicions that maybe there IS something bad in there.

If he really wants to be President and not just run a losing campaign he'll probably need to come across with 2007, 2008, 2009 fur shur ~ that'll give us an idea of how much he lost in the Great Obama Recession stock market crash, and how he minimized his losses ~ that will include any multi-million dollar refunds due him from the federal government.

Otherwise, I guess he doesn't really want to be President.

Democrats are best fought with truth and righteousness ~ quibbling over the subtle nuances of procrastination isn't one of the big weapons.

Romney and his running dog lackeys have NOT offered any sort of quid pro quo with Obama. That means they don't care if he's foreign born, went to school as a foreign student on scholarship, or ran around with 3 social security numbers for purposes of defrauding creditors.

Interesting that such matters don't bother those people.

The Democrats could use Romney’s involvement in the abortion racket against him.......

And their medical records, college records, and college theses. So, where's Obomas paperwork? I know I'm still waiting.

C.mon. Let's do this fairly. A page of Romney's for a page of Obomas. What's so bad about being fair? Can't we handle this in a bipartisan manner?

I’m sure he paid his taxes. If he did not I’d still vote for him over Obama. I know that Romney does not hate America.

Ann makes a number of good points including the sarcasm of picking the lock of the “famously guarded” IRS. The Democrats treat politics as war. Every instrumentality of government, the IRS, the DOJ, the EPA, the NLRB, etc. has been converted to brown shirt Obama shock troops who will do anything necessary to get Obama reelected. The GOP still doesn't know how to wage countervailing total war.

Just to follow up on Concerned’s reply and yours as well. I agree with a lot of what you’re saying but as Concerned says only if Obama releases his. It’s also been a tradition to release college records going back as well and the President hasn’t done this so who’s not following custom?

It’s not that we’re not fighting Democrats with truth and righteousness it’s that we’re not fighting with one hand tied behind our back. We can’t keep allowing Democrats to get 9 points for their touchdowns and only six for ours. Eventually we’ll lose and that’s just the way it is.

And we can’t continue to hide behind “playing fair” or “not sinking down to their level” and other such philosophies as an excuse to not fight hard and a little dirty if need be because we’re afraid to.

All releasing more tax returns does is give fodder to the Democrats.....you do realize that you can ask 10 different CPA’s about a tax question, and get 10 different answers....especially when they are complicated, which the Romney’s have to be....when Obomba releases his college records, etc....then, MAYBE we can talk....until then....I could care less about anyone’s tax returns, UNLESS they really are CHEATING....LIKE little Timmy Geithner! (Romnney is not likely cheating....the IRS would already be after him.)

Just so I follow procedure and do the right thing, I copied the title from the article itself and reposted it without changing it I believe. However I easily could be overlooking somehthing.

Would you please let me know part of the title I may have altered?

Thanks.

You’d think that the guy who was touted as “smartest ever” with the giant ego 0bama has, would be more than eager to at least share his transcripts. My guess is his grades are, at best mediocre, but the real kicker is that he attended, and received aid, as a foreign student. This means that he either is guilty of fraud, or more importantly, a tacit admission that he does not qualify for the office he has usurped since January 20, 2009.

Here's a question for you ~ if Romney suffered some real investment losses in 2008 ~ and I mean Great Obama Recession size losses ~ HUGHMONGOUS ~ then he could carry back those losses 3 years, and forward up to 7 years?

RIGHT?

We definitely need an ordinary tax lawyer on this one, but doesn't 3+7 = 10?

That may be what Harry Reid is pointing to.

It would take the edge off Romney's rep as a GREAT BUSINESSMAN and INVESTOR.

(NOTE: Obama doesn't need to release anything for all of us to now he's totally stupid when it comes to business and human nature ~ man is a complete dolt who has no business in government, or in any job requiring public contact).

The Bain insiders would be telling Harry's friends "Hey, Mitt suffered losses so bad he had to carry them back 3 and forward 7, and it's almost like he didn't owe any taxes what with the refunds and such"

Harry, being the party apparatchik that he is wouldn't hear beyond the tax part ~

Your problem in debating the Obama issues with me is that I was convinced long before 2007 that he was an IDIOT who shouldn't be allowed in public office.

This guy was engaged in property deals with authentic Roma gypsies! You gotta' be one of them, or their slave, to get involved in that stuff. His big buddy the Governor of Illinois, was obviously going to be going to jail ~ and he could rat out Obama and ruin him instantly.

FreeRepublic, in general, trailed me considerably back then. I think the very same Mittbots who tell us we gotta' vote for Romney were telling us then that Obama wasn't the risk ~ that it was Hillary.

No one needs to know Obama's records to know they are all forgeries or done by cooperative Leftist apparatchiks in Columbia, Occidental and Harvard. The man is a living lie.

One of the wonderful aspects of Ann is her ability to “turn a phrase” — in fact, turn it into a hammer. It is a strength, but also has a side that can offend the middle of the road reader that is too delicate for unbridled political commentary.

This column avoids her best heavy artillary — it is reasoned, full of factual history and makes the point well without her smashing furniture.

I love her ability, shown in other other columns, for hyperbolic phrasing that cuts to the bone, but this more reasoned approach is just right here.

Excellent catch! Most telling observation of the Romney campaign today:

Romney and his running dog lackeys have NOT offered any sort of quid pro quo with Obama. That means they don't care if he's foreign born, went to school as a foreign student on scholarship, or ran around with 3 social security numbers for purposes of defrauding creditors.

Interesting that such matters don't bother those people.

The first step to our recovery is to let ourselves see things as they are.

Thanks for reminding us and pointing out what should be obvious...but isn't, thanks to the ministers of propaganda.

Romney just has to say Obama’s a hypocrite and here’s why, and Obama will shut his suck-hole.
