The Lord is the strength of his people
Ps 28:8
The Lord strengthened me
2Tim. 4:17
What a perceptive thought for such a young woman to express on international television in a day such as this!
“Maybe some of the other athletes have talked of their faith after winning and I havent heard.”
I heard a swimmer or 2. I suspect there will be more once track & field events start.
She eats at Chick-fil-A too.
The only person that has a say in this is Gabby herself.
I saw a young lady publically praising the Lord for what he has given to her, not praising herself for the “good things” she has done for God. She was not praying, she was praising his name!
What's your point? Why are you criticizing this young lady's inspiring declaration of her faith in the Lord?
Thanks for this article.
God certainly helped.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13
New King James Version (NKJV)
Define ostentatious and compare and contrast your version of what ostentatious public prayer is versus what Christ was describing when he criticized the scribes and pharisees regarding their style of “public prayer”. He at one episode refered to these folks as “whited sepulchres full of dead men’s bones and other corruption”! Do you think Tebow’s religiously public actions rise to such corrupt hypocrisy? Or “Gabby’s”?
Your criticisms of those who publicly confess their faith are not supported by sound Biblical interpretation. Regarding what Jesus taught, the following could not be more clear:
Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven." Matthew 10:32
The question is therefore, are you ashamed to confess Christ, as your antagonisms towards Tebow & Gabrielle seem to indicate?
You are free to confess or deny Christ, but it is hypocritical to quote Scripture in order to attack those who are not ashamed to make such a confession.
If Gabby says that God deserves credit, who can Awquestion her personal opinion?
Its a good thing there is no link.

The value of the metal in the gold medal is around $650 (gold medals are only like 1% gold, and are mostly made of silver), but each winner of a gold medal gets a cash prize of $25,000.
Beautiful post!
“Since we have the ball rolling, what is your reason for belief that Christs words are not applicable to Tebows actions?”
Why are you trying to put words in my mouth and attribute to me beliefs I don’t have? When did I ever say anything like that at all? Are you one of those people who tries to use superficial knowledge of the bible to trip up Christians? Rebutting statements that someone never made is a tactic frequently employed by that crowd.
All I said is that you’re one of those people who hates Tebow. I’ll stand by that.
Thanks, AU. I didn’t know about the cash payment from the US Olympic committee for a gold medal. $25000 is a lot of money unless the athletes have been living on nothing.
My guess is that if they file as independent businesses, that their expenses to get to the Olympics will eat up far more than that 25 grand.
One of the inequities of our tax system is that individuals can’t take off their expenses and have their income be only their profit.
Another reason to have all taxes be consumption taxes, imho.
