LGBTs call on visible national support Aug 7 to counter Huckabee's CFA day
Equally Wed ^ | Aug 4 2012 | Equally Wed

"Our original goal was to support Starbucks for being so supportive of our community and our rights.

"We specifically chose a brick-and-mortar chain to have visible support around the country on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, in direct response to Mike Huckabee’s Chick-fil-A Day."

In an effort to heighten awareness for all companies and nonprofits contributing to the fight for marriage equality, we’ve decided to rename August 7 as National Marriage Equality Day...

This expansion of focus is the result of the direct encouragement of Starbucks Corporate Headquarters who wanted other equality-minded companies and organizations to share in the appreciation.

...

National nonprofit organizations fighting for LGBT equality...:

Courage Campaign Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Freedom to Marry Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Lambda Legal Marriage Equality USA National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (The Task Force) National Youth Advocacy Coalition (NYAC) NOH8 Campaign Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) White Knot

A partial list of national and international brands that support LGBT rights (feel free to add more in the comments):

Abercrombie & Fitch Absolut Vodka Amazon.com Delta Disney Ford General Mills Google J.C. Penney JP Morgan Kenneth Cole Kimberly-Clark (maker of Kleenex, Huggies, Kotex, Scott, Depends, Wypall) Kimpton Hotels Levi-Strauss Macy’s Marshalls Microsoft Nike Sears Southwest Airlines Starbucks Target Tiffany & Co. This is why we should not cave to conservatives who say, "Just forget the Chick-Fil-A thing":

The LGBTs have no intention of forgetting it on their side.

They are holding this day as a rebuttal to last Wed. and calling on national support to do so.

Might I suggest to those whose “panties are up in a wad” (poor choice of words with this crowd I suppose) over CFA, turn this into something, like, positive, man. Why not start your OWN chain of LGBT-freindly fast food joints and compete? But then again the responsibilities that go with properly running a business are a million times greater than “community activism”.

I see this differntly. I predict that the Chik-Fil-A debacle will disappear in the next week or so.

The cultural radicals and their "moderate" useful fools just got their collective asses handed to them by the bitter clingers. The State Run Media will now want to stop covering the story.

the homo agenda has been intolerant and deployed NAZI tactics for years and still yes STILL WE HAVE DOPES ON OUR SIDE EVEN ON HERE WHO SAY THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THEM.

The homostapo have been intimidating businesses for years, they have sued Catholic adoption charities, they have gone after florists, ice cream stores, photographers, wedding cake makers, newspapers and frigging dopes on here wil still shop at Target, starbucks, homo depot etc and all because some are too selfish to give up a coffee, some furniture, some cheap shoddy looking clothes at Target.

Their kiss butt fest failed, they looked stupid so yet again they throw yet again another baby tantrum and now do this crap.

The homostapo just doesn’t get it because they’re so full of atred and bigotry, they don’t understand we don’t want to know their sex life or how they have their sex.
They don’t understand because they go ont their websites and tell each other how persecuted they are and how they should get intot he faces of people.

AND WE STILL HAVE SOME ON OUR SIDE who are COWARDLY, Hannity, some on talk radio , Romney, Noonan, Hume, Drudge who back these queers because either
1. they’re homosexuals
2. cowards.
3.they know a couple of homosexuals and they’re nice{hate that stupid pathetic ignorant comment}
4.they don’t want to upset their elitist pals up in NY City, and other big northern cities.
5 they only care about their own pocket

There is nothing ‘courageous’ about mocking God and the universal truths the underpin our constitution. There is nothing ‘courageous’ about bullying people and businesses to adopt an agenda that is against their heart felt religious beliefs. These people are tyrants.

They can have Startbucks, and we’ll keep patronizing Chick-Fil-A.

This is why we should not cave to conservatives who say, "Just forget the Chick-Fil-A thing":
When we stood in line at the CFA in Paramus, NJ I had the sense that we were part of something that's gonna be big. Like being at the Washington Monument listening to Dr. King's I Have A Dream speech kind of big. IMHO CFA appreciation day is comparable to Rosa Parks' simple act of righteous defiance.

The Tower of Babel fell apart because it was made of brick and mortar.

Starbucks is going to be a little pissed because they had a 2% day on Tuesday. Time for Dunkin Donuts to have a banner day if they play their cards right.

Yes, it infuriates me, too - that is why I’ve become obsessed with the whole gay agenda’s future fate and keep posting on it. It is the one issue which is repeatedly dismissed by so many who profess to conservatism.

And the gays count on those who say “they have no problem with them”—they laugh behind their backs at them for granting them impunity, and see them as dupes. I do know this for a fact.

the liberal bias crap we have to call our media will get with the homostapo and then have their cameras at various locations and say “wow the crowds are massive, the people have come out for freedom etc” bla bla frigging bla

Jim How about a list permanently on here of companies which give a lot of money tot he left and the homostapo and surely ALL of US on here can get the word out to friends, family, neighbors, work associates etc and not spend out money on their companies/

Yes, there was indeed that feeling. So of course the moderates, centrists, or libertarians or whomever begin immediately to say it should be forgotten and that it does not really matter. Grrrr. infuriating.

Marriage Equality Day on August 7?

At long last, Billy Bob can get married to his pet sheep.

I’ll admit I tried Starbucks once in a great while. Their regular iced coffee, not the overpriced fancy stuff, is good. It kinda tastes like an iced Cuban cappucino I had at one the bodegas in Ybor City. Otherrwise I’ll stick with Dunkin Donuts’, that stuff hits the spot on a day like today ;)

You know there is a sense too that Starbucks didn’t really want the attention of itself. As in:

“This expansion of focus is the result of the direct encouragement of Starbucks Corporate Headquarters who wanted other equality-minded companies and organizations to share in the appreciation.”

To me, it sounds like Starbuck’s was saying, “hey, don’t put the spotlight on us, make it general”.

Good to see a list of companies to avoid. Those companies obviously want the radical leftist gay fringe hate mongers as their customers more than they want normal mainstream Americans. Let their bottom line suffer for a radical agenda of deviancy.

Same as me, years ago I never cared about them but after the way they have gone into a NAZI machine and intimidating folks, etc then I took more notice and the more I find out the more I am determined now to never give in to them, hell I’d go to prison before I ever conform to their mental sickness.

What gets me is supposed conservatives even a couple on here who stae they have no problem with them, after all the issues and lawsuits and changes in laws the homstapo have gone .
There are still folks which ignore this, still say no problem with their agenda.
I can’t stand cowardly people, we all need to speak up and not whisper our views or keep them to ourselves.
Why the likes of Hannity , some on talk radio etc stay silent pises me off to no end.

They’re cowardly silence has helped the homosexuals and they will advance their agenda until people get a clue and speak out.

There are so many companies on the list, I don’t think they will be able to make a visible, dramatic show of support on August 7.

That there are so many companies on the list demonstrates the headway the LBGTs have in the culture war. It will be a disadvantage to them in this specific instance only, as their supporters will be spread thin among many different companies, it will be difficult to make a visible, dramatic show of support.
