Gay activists counter Chick-fil-A with Starbucks appreciation day [Yawn!]

Gay marriage activists are planning to swarm Starbucks on Tuesday in an attempt to counter the record sales from last week’s Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.

The chicken chain enjoyed a surge of support during the Wednesday event, dreamed up by former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee after Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy went on the record backing the “biblical definition of the family unit.”

A follow-up protest from Chick-fil-A critics on Friday, which was dubbed Same Sex Kiss Day, was more subdued.

Advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights are trying again Tuesday with National Marriage Equality Day, initiated by Equally Wed, a lesbian and gay wedding magazine. So far, nearly 28,000 people have signed up to attend.

The event was originally called National Starbucks Appreciation Day in honor of the coffee giant, which recently threw its support behind efforts to make gay marriage legal.

But several other holidays exist with the same name, including one created by gun rights groups. Starbucks’ corporate offices had nothing to do with those events nor with Tuesday’s planned gatherings....

Starbucks is over-roasted and over priced. Mickey D’s coffee is better and cheaper.

I’m sorry, I must have missed the conservative politicians who kept Starbucks from getting permits because of their CEO’s comments.

We do straight morning coffee, but that’s about it. During the winter months I enjoy those International Flavor coffees on occasion. We have (at least I think we still do) a espresso maker but haven’t used it for years.

But that frappe sounds good. I think my wife would enjoy it as well. What’s the ratio ice to coffee?

A friend of mine's (Army officer) service from Starbucks. I've never had a problem with them.

After being unconcealably defeated the homosexuals are organizing a do-over calling it “appreciation day” as a means of stealing the success of the pro-marriage event.

The usual MO of the MSM is to simply not cover bad to them stories.

How many of the MSM are participants in the homo-agenda?

If so, why don’t they stop playing homosexual music in their stores? One more playing of a woman singing “Lili Marlene” and one more playing of a guy singing “Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair” with “he “ instead of “she” and I’m going to vomit into my green tea lemonade.

“And we-e-e shall be-e-e-e as one . . .” Barf!

Our local Starbucks is clean and the service is quick and friendly. I like their coffees. That said, they are expensive! I can make it myself at home for pennies.

We also have a local coffee shop I love to patronize and his prices are much more reasonable.

this is about screwing around the search results. The homosexuals are doing an “appreciation day” in order to obfuscate the google results.

More subdued? How about "non-existent". I knew it was, as you said, "epic-fail" when I saw absolutely nothing on my t.v. about it. There were no pictures, no film, no interviewing "all" the people who showed up. If it had drawn any kind of crowd, you know that the "gay movement's" friends in the media would have been covering it 24/7. Instead, crickets.

Sheesh....does this mean I have to go spray paint graffiti all over the nearest Starbucks now?

Wait a minute, I have an idea. I’ll just go to Starbucks and not kiss anyone.

I remember when the Iraq War was going on, my local Starbucks was collecting bags of coffee from people to send to the troops at Christmas. You could pick the blend (I chose the Christmas Blend ‘cause I like the hint of cinnamon), and write a greeting on the bag. They shipped all the coffee.

They remind me of the governor’s son in Oh Brother Where Art Thou:

“We could get us our own little midget.”

:-)

BTW, not that the gloves are off, we’re done with Starbucks. Permanently.

One way we cut back on daily spending was making coffee at home. Lots cheaper. I go to Starbucks on road trips now but consider it poor stewardship to spend my money there when I can make it at home.

Thing is, Starbucks only wants to openly support minority groups if it doesn’t cost them customers. If this homosexual marriage thing leads to a broadbased backlash by the general population against overtly supporting homosexual marriage, companies like starbucks will abandon it.

Virtually all large companies are in business for a singular reason: to make profits. Any cause that damages that will be abandoned in a new york minute.

Guaranteed to fail!

Not even time for George Soros to start handing $200 to people to go to Starbucks.

Or maybe people will be outside Starbucks with money to give out if they buy coffee at Starbucks...

Will not hurt to have George Soros focus on Starbucks sales rather than the November elections.
