Gay activists counter Chick-fil-A with Starbucks appreciation day [Yawn!]

Gay marriage activists are planning to swarm Starbucks on Tuesday in an attempt to counter the record sales from last week’s Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.

The chicken chain enjoyed a surge of support during the Wednesday event, dreamed up by former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee after Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy went on the record backing the “biblical definition of the family unit.”

A follow-up protest from Chick-fil-A critics on Friday, which was dubbed Same Sex Kiss Day, was more subdued.

Advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights are trying again Tuesday with National Marriage Equality Day, initiated by Equally Wed, a lesbian and gay wedding magazine. So far, nearly 28,000 people have signed up to attend.

The event was originally called National Starbucks Appreciation Day in honor of the coffee giant, which recently threw its support behind efforts to make gay marriage legal.

But several other holidays exist with the same name, including one created by gun rights groups. Starbucks’ corporate offices had nothing to do with those events nor with Tuesday’s planned gatherings....

“More subdued” is to the Chick-Fil-A protest what a graveyard is to a rock concert.

Absolutely - and this backing off (as Starbucks seems to be trying to do)) may happen in more instances than the rainbow agenda is prepared for. Money talks. Really, its about time they stopped having so much prima dona power.

The National Association of American Anglo, African, and Asian Anonymous Heterosexuals will sponsor a counter-protest at all Starbucks locations.

NAAAAAAH will be sponsoring a “Same Sex Piss Day” which will demonstrate solidarity with Chic-Fil-A by having men and women only use lavatories designated for their same sex.

Come out to Starbucks and show(er) your support!

Here’s one problem with this: Chick-Fil-A’s food tastes good. Starbuck’s coffee tastes like crap!

At our local coffee shop, Starbucks is derisively referred to as the BBCC (Burnt Bean Coffee Company).

Here, let me get down to their level for a moment.

“Yeah, oh yeah? Copycat, copycat, where you get your coffee at?”

I feel so much better now.

I use about a cup of cooled coffee to a cup of ice. You can experiment to get the thickness you like...when I throw in some ice cream I use a stronger brew but only 4-6 ounces ( be sure it has cooled though other wise you end up with watery cool stuff

But last week they hated Starbucks because they are an evil corporation that makes MONEY. Oh well, it’s not like any or no business at Starbucks is going to hurt CFA in the least. Protesting fast-food chicken sales by buying fast-food coffee...yes, that’s IT!

OK, thanks. For some reason I had the idea whole beans (or crushed first) were being used. I see you’re using cooled, percolated coffee. Thanks.

I might go for the chocolate ice cream, but my wife has a problem with chocolate. I’ll not mention that to her.

A follow-up protest from Chick-fil-A critics on Friday, which was dubbed Same Sex Kiss Day, was more subdued an EPIC FAIL.

Fixed.

she could always try a dollop of vanilla....unless its the ice cream itself. Just be sure you use a good strong brew if you want coffee flavor...but otherwise your favorite brew

For perspective, Starbucks has about 13,000 stores in the US. (Yeah, I know. It just seems like more.)

I saw a great “Guns & Coffee” pistol-packing Starbucks mermaid logo created for the 2A appreciation day. Will the tolerant gay day crowd tolerate that image?

Hey, you gotta give the marketeers at Starbucks credit. They have convinced a large piece of the American public that extra-bitter, overly-roasted coffee is not only tasty and good, but it is worth a 75-100% upcharge from the coffee that you can get in half a million coffee and donut shops in the rest of the country.

Donald Draper couldn’t have done better himself!

No, vanilla is fine. She just has a problem with chocolate. We drink Eight-0-Clock Italian Roast which is as strong a coffee as I’ve found. I doubt it will be too weak for a frappe. Thanks for all your help.

Or......wait for it..... Perhaps a CFA coffee...? Would be hilarious if CFA’s coffee sales spike....

Our CFA actually offers FREE coffee from like 5 to 8 am or something...
