Fox News Shep Smith, the host of the cable news channels primetime "Studio B," seemed to take issue with the controversial Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, which was created by former Gov. Mike Huckabee -- a fellow Fox News anchor -- and turned out to be one of the companys best days regarding sales.
Smith, who has stated that he supports marriage equality in the past, was able to cleverly slam the fast-food chain and the politician without directly mentioning them, Mediaite reported.
"Its National Badminton Day," he said on his show. "Lets forget National Day of Intolerance. Lets just stay with badminton."
Smith did not go on to elaborate on his comments.
Comments on the far right-wing site Free Republic were typical: Commenters made not-so-subtle references to longstanding rumors that Smith is gay.
"Poor Shep. Americans caused him to smear his eye liner today," was a typical comment."Shep is a$$ loving tosser. Who cares what he thinks? That little faggot is one of the main reasons I quit watching FOX," another wrote.
Smiths sexuality has been questioned for years. Kevin Naff, the longtime editor of the Washington Blade, alleged that Smith hit on him at gay bar in New York City a few years ago.
"Smith once chatted me up in a New York City gay piano bar, bought me drinks, and invited me back to his place," Naff said, according to an account on the blog site Pams House Blend. "When I declined, he asked me to dinner the next night, another invitation I politely refused. We sat at the bar chatting and drinking martinis until 3 a.m., our conversation interrupted only when he paused to belt out the lyrics to whatever showtune was being performed,"
In April 2011, Out magazine published its "Power 50" list that ranked the most powerful gay men and lesbians. The publication placed Smith in the number six spot and featured Anderson Cooper, then still in the closet, and Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, who has never formally come out.
After President Obama announced his support for gay marriage, Smith said on his show that the president is on the "right side of the 21st century." He then asked his colleague Bret Baier if the Republican Party would campaign against marriage equality "while sitting very firmly, without much question, on the wrong side of history on it," according to the Huffington Post.
Smiths comments seemed to deeply upset conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh as he condemned the broadcaster for his remarks, the Huffington Post pointed out.
"Shep, where has the issue won?" Limbaugh said. "Where has the issue been victorious, Shep, outside your house? Where has the issue won an election? What state? Tell me where its happened."
Shep married Virginia Donald in 1987 but divorced in 1993. They had no children.
Only typical since the pro-gay crowd migrated to that pro-gay cesspool for zotted misfits.
Straight as Anderson Cooper
“He’s gayer than a barbershop quartet.”
Whoa, there! My uncle sang in a barbershop quartet. If you called him gay, he would have beaten the living daylights out of you. LOL
When did barbershop become popular? And what was that decade called?
Shep may or may not be a homo. He is unquestionably a left wing zealot whose very limited talent is better suited for Current TV than a major network.
Abba - Fernando
Shep is from WSVN in Miami home to Rick Sanchez as well as many other leftist drama queens. I interned there for a bit at Channel 7 back in the 90s when Shep was there...he was funny as hell but everyone knew he was gay.
I stopped watching FauxRomney quite some time ago.
What has been seen... cannot be unseen.
I didn’t mean to imply that he isn’t a homo. My point was he is a left wing clown with very little talent. He certainly is not an impartial reporter of the news.
LOL. Point taken.
My uncle was a big burly Marine, fought in World War Ii, had at least one medal that I know of. He sang in a quartet for years, almost till the day he died. Made a few extra bucks performing at nursing homes and senior citizen centers. He was good at it too. I on the other hand sing like a rusty gate.
Certainly not - - he's an entertainer.
The morality of these homosexuals-—for centuries-—has always reduced human beings to the level of the sewer and destroyed every civilization which celebrated the evil acts which always included pederasty.
Shame on Shep for advocating such degrading actions-—and trying to glorify such dysfunctional, unnatural acts for “children”. Sure —if he had any sons—he wouldn’t want them degrading and debasing not only their own bodies, but that of others—or would he join them. Such a sick, pathetic, EVIL worldview.
Shep—The Founders said civilization would collapse without Virtue. Sodomy is a Vice. It was always illegal in the US until Marxists judges removed the laws to destroy our civil society. Think again— what ugly acts you stand for and repent. They lust for the young beautiful boys-—in all homsexual cultures whether Japan, China, The Greeks/Romans/Persians/Celts/ American Indians—Tibetans-—it is ALWAYS about the BOYS!!!!! It is a learned behavior.
Anyone who supports homosexual “Rights” is supporting child abuse and pure evil.
Is he still on?
