Obama Smear Campaign On Mitt Romney Continues
Political Realities ^ | 08/08/12 | LD Jackson

Posted on 08/08/2012 3:43:23 AM PDT by LD Jackson

Just when we thought the smear campaign against Mitt Romney could get no worse, it does. I am almost at a loss for words to describe the lies that are now being told about Mitt Romney. Ridiculous and despicable are the only terms that really come close. First, we have Harry Reid and his lies about having a source who told him Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes for 10 years. Reid says it is up to Romney to prove the allegation false. That was bad enough. Now we have Priorities USA, a Super Pac supporting Barack Obama, publishing an ad that tries to tie the GOP nominee to the death of the wife of a steel worker who lost his job when Bain Capital closed the steel plant where he was working. You can read more on the story at The Lonely Conservative and WyBlog. I am including the ad in its entirety so our readers can see what Mitt Romney is being accused of.

Please visit Political Realities to see the ad.

The real story of the Joe Soptic story basically goes like this. Bain Capital acquired GST Steel in 1993. In 1999, Mitt Romney let Bain Capital to run the Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Even though he remains CEO of Bain Capital, Romney has no dealings with the day-to-day operations of the firm. In 2001, GST Steel is closed and Joe Soptic loses his job, as well as his healthcare insurance. His wife still retains her healthcare insurance from her employer. Romney formally leaves Bain Capital in 2002. It is that year, or maybe a year later, in 2003, that Joe Soptic's wife loses her job and her healthcare insurance. In 2006, she was diagnosed with cancer and passes away.

As any discerning adult can see, Mitt Romney had nothing to do with the death of Joe Soptic's wife. I feel for the man, I really do. I am sorry he lost his wife, but the blame for her death does not lie at the feet of Mitt Romney. I would even go so far as to suggest Joe Soptic is not doing his wife's memory any favors by using her in such a dishonest way.

If the Obama campaign was acting in a responsible manner, they would have already distanced themselves from Harry Reid and his lies and accusations against Mitt Romney. They would have already been in the media, explaining how they disagree with the ad published by Priorities USA. But, as we all know, that isn't how Obama works. They are throwing the dirt out for all to see and hoping enough of it sticks to Mitt Romney and persuades enough voters in November.

It doesn't matter that the accusations about Mitt Romney are false. The real story of the death of Joe Soptic's wife doesn't matter to them. The only thing that matters is smearing their opponent into nonexistence. Given the dismal record of Barack Obama, it is their only hope of winning the election. Given the events of the past three years and how Barack Obama has "managed" the economy and our liberties, God help us all if they succeed.

Well one of Romney's PAC is putting out 25 million in commercials about Obama so I am sure Romney will get a few digs in too. It is an election where only one wins so Romney fight back if you want to win.

Mr. RomneyCARE has spent years defending his Obama
on TARP, on the missing BC, and on his evil intents.

WHEN WILL MR. ROMNEYCARE speak up?

When there is a conservative to attack.

Watching the news the past few weeks I’m starting to wonder if Romney is even in the United States. Obama speeches get run, panels discuss the o-surrogates latest despicable acts but we never see Romney himself doing anything at all. Is he actually campaigning or is there just a blackout? You want to stay classy so u have the support of all if you win, but it appears only one team is on the field.

All non-conservatives are on their knees to Mr. RomneyCARE.

When he hides, it is "WONDERFUL".
When he is protected by his wife, it is "WONDERFUL".
When he invents death panels, it is "WONDERFUL".
When he is imposes gay marriage, it is "WONDERFUL".
When he is attacks the boy scouts, it is "WONDERFUL".

Whatever Mr. RomneyCARE wants, the GOPe is on its KNEES.

I don’t like Romney, and never did, but it is what it is and I will hold my powder until the convention is over. I can only hope that Romney is doing the same. My greatest fear is he will be the same as McLame and throw the election.

Once again the GOP picks a wimpy liberal. He needs to fight and fight hard if he wants to win this thing. There is something to be said about how he will fight conservatives but not Obama. Something is not right. I think it could have something to do with the fact that Romney agrees with Obama on many issues like abortion and gay marriage. He also agrees and likes the Health care too since he started the entire thing. How strange that we picked a guy who birthed gay marriage and Romneycare/Obamacare. Never thought I would see the day.

And Obama’s favorite Freeper checks in!

You have to wonder if you didn’t send the ad ideas to them.

Hi naps.

The GOPe also picked Obama's staunchest defender.

Mr. Romney WAS SOLIDLY for Obama in 2011

Mitt Romney Sends Leftover Pizza to Obama Chicago HQ
After spending the day in Chicago fundraising, Mitt Romney
sat down with small business owners at Gino's East,
a pizza joint famous for their deep-dish pizza.
In fact, Romney himself tweeted a photo of a
delivery boy heading out with the loot, writing,
"Great deep dish at @ginoseast.
Sending the extra slices to @barackobama and his Chicago HQ team."

Romney: "Obama was born in the United States"

Romney: "Obama Doesn’t Need a Birth Certificate"

Romney: "The citizenship test has been passed"

Romney - the Magic RINO:
"I'm not running as the Republican view
or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.

(Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn't make any sense at all.""

“Once again the GOP picks a wimpy liberal. He needs to fight and fight hard if he wants to win this thing. “

Obama runs stupid ads that make him look worse to the public, and the fact that Romney didnt blow all of his money before the convention on every subject under the sun to keep you entertained, must mean he doesn’t want to win?

Romney stays on message while Obama looks desperate, because HE WANTS ROMNEY TO DO WHAT YOU ARE SUGGESTING.

With all due respect, Obama's ads are chillingly good.

Mr. RomneyCARE has no chance which is just what the DNC/MSM want.

“Something is not right.”

More people need to wake up and realize our presidents are selected by an oligarchy and not elected by the people, and I’m not talking about the electoral college.

All of those “wacky” conspiracy theories about the CFR, Trilateral Commission, and Bildebergers running the show behind the scenes do not seem so far fetched now considering the last two clowns the GOPe has selected as presidential candidates.

There is the mother lode of jan-u-wine, loamy dirt available on the anointed one. Start shoveling it, Mitt.

Of couse they are!

I’m sure you guys at the DU are just pleased as punch.

Meanwhile out of the basement, they aren’t doing anything to move public opinion and bankrupting Obama. Which is really bad because it means you will have to pull out another check for the guy.

Ok, whatever. You got a jpeg for every situation.

None about Obama. Which is weird because you want to come across as this “I’m just against all of the socialists running” robo-poster, but you have not one sarcastic image of him that you post on every Romney story regardless if you even bothered to read it.

No wonder Mr. RomneyCARE loves your groveling
