A high-ranking Mexican drug cartel operative currently in U.S. custody is making startling allegations that the failed federal gun-walking operation known as “Fast and Furious” isn’t what you think it is.

It wasn’t about tracking guns, it was about supplying them — all part of an elaborate agreement between the U.S. government and Mexico’s powerful Sinaloa Cartel to take down rival cartels.

During Bush, the Mex govt was actually involved with it, unlike F&F, and there was actually a way to track the guns, again unlike with F&F.

The US government has been involved in getting drugs into this country for decades. Remember Bo Gritz?? Read Bo's letter to then VP George H. Bush about his discovering the US gov's involvement of drug smuggling out of the golden triangle.

So who ya gonna believe, a vicious, corrupt, murdering international criminal...or this Mexican guy?

Neither. With all the hype from Mordor over American guns being run into Mexico, and the need for more gun control in the US, it was clearly an attempt to undermine the 2nd Amendment.

“Was a type of “Fast and Furious” all over the Bush Admin?”

Somewhat, but not really close.

The Bush operation was named, “Wide Receiver.” The idea was to provide straw buyers with guns that had implanted tracking devices and trace the weapons into Mexico to their ultimate buyers. Agents followed the guns after they were sold and U.S. authorities coordinated with Mexican officials. The operation failed when some of the tracking devices failed, aircraft used to follow the traffickers ran out of fuel and didn’t have backup, and some of the tracking devices were found by the traffickers. All of these foul ups allowed some of the guns to get across the border. Hence, the Bush administration terminated Wide Receiver about two years before Obama implemented Fast and Furious.

Fast and Furious differed profoundly from Wide Receiver in that: 1) no tracking devices were installed in the guns that were walked; 2) NO effort was made to track the straw purchasers after they picked up the guns; and 3) the Regime made NO effort either to inform or coordinate with the Mexican authorities. IOW Wide Receiver was a fouled up good faith effort to run down gun trafficking conspirators while Fast and Furious was simply an operation to send guns across the border to be used in crimes and use those crimes to support attacks on the Second Amendment.

a spokesman for the Chihuahua state government in northern Mexico who said U.S. agencies ”don’t fight drug traffickers,“ instead ”they try to manage the drug trade.

No doubt about it IMO. All the way back to Bush.

Kind of explains how all these politicians running the show, retire as multi-millionaires.

Bush was an idiot and likely part of this plan...Hundreds of weapons were lost in Bush's reckless scheme. Of course many believe this was probably a pay off/cooperation with one or more of the cartels.

The Bush boys even shared intel with the corrupt in the Mexican government, knowing damn well many of whom had direct ties to the cartels.

I see Bush did it so its ok that Obama did it?
Not that what the Bush Admin was the same thing. Someone correct me if I am wrong but that was a real gun tracking opperation?
Whereas F&F , under Obamahood and his merry man Eric the Holder, had no intention of tracking the guns.

The only thing we know for sure - it wasn't about tracking guns..

It’s more than a WoD thing. Taliban use it for funding. They also like to come out in force to defend the crops when we destroy them. This could initiate direct combat instead of insurgency operations. Yet we don’t apply the pressure and try to play the game by the enemy’s rules.

The claims seem to fall in line with statements made last month by Guillermo Terrazas Villanueva, a spokesman for the Chihuahua state government in northern Mexico who said U.S. agencies ”don’t fight drug traffickers,“ instead ”they try to manage the drug trade.”

Now I know this will appear as ‘breaking news’ on every channel, any minute.

Don't hold your breath. I believe many in D.C. are up to their necks in this, and have been for many years.

IIRC both DC and CHicago are top of the “drug use” list. They don’t want to stop their own source.

Maggie, did you see this thread? Don’t we know information on money laundering, drugs and produce flow as payment to Mexico.

They looked the other way during WW II, as well.

Luciano was helping with the invasion of Sicily, and his underling, ILA boss Tough Tony Anastasia kept east coast docks free of Nazi sabotage after the converted luxury liner/troopship “Normandie” mysteriously burned and sank in NY harbor.

The fact that Charlie Lucky also ran the biggest heroin smuggling operation in the world at the time from his jail cell in Dannemora was given a wink and a nudge by the OSS and ONI.
