The Dirty Little Secret of Liberalism
Off Grid Blogger blog ^ | August 10, 2012 | Off Grid Blogger

Posted on 08/10/2012 3:24:55 PM PDT by grumpa

Rush Limbaugh opined on his radio program today how difficult it can be to get liberals to understand how wrong they are. I have been thinking about this problem for some time, and have written variations of how to explain the errors of liberalism. My goal is to analyze and explain political theory in a way that leads not only to truth but to its application for a successful society. I’m sure I will find better ways to express these concepts, but this short blog is the culmination of years of thought on the subject.

The dirty little secret of liberals is that while they are hiding behind respectable fronts of “compassion” or “fairness,” their policies actually lead to the opposite! What they really want is the destruction of institutions that promote true compassion and fairness—including the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Rule of Law, natural law, the Bible, or traditional values. Their goals are tyranny and cronyism—ultimately the obliteration of anything that gets in their way of their lust of power. History proves that the liberals’ march toward statism ultimately will find nothing sacred, even life itself.

Our thesis is that the utopian perfectibility that liberals crave is detrimental to society—indeed, not even possible by government edict or by any human effort. Liberals are deceived in thinking they are working for good. We argue that the left’s banner upon which they claim legitimacy—that they are compassionate—is false. The welfare state, while well-intentioned in the minds of the uninformed, institutionalizes indolence and poverty—and is thereby immoral. The result of the welfare state is not virtuous charity; rather it is theft from one group to benefit another group in order to keep the latter on the dole for political votes.

Thus liberalism is the least likely system to honor the inherent worth of the individual—and the most likely to harm the most vulnerable in society such as the expendable elderly and the innocent unborn. Liberals’ profession of tolerance is hypocritical as liberals certainly do not tolerate opposition to their errant views. Indeed, the further left a society progresses the more it is intolerant.

While liberals may be moral and well-intentioned in their own lives, their views are not consistent with what is good. In actuality liberals are working to tear down or distort everything that is good and elevate what is evil—including in art, music, culture, business, politics, science, sexuality, education, truth, beauty, justice, morality, and logic. So ironically liberalism is neither moral, compassionate, tolerant, nor effective.

Liberalism has everything turned on it head. It punishes achievement but rewards failure. Liberal thought is often opposed to objective moral values, is opposed to a moral authority above itself, and is thus opposed to unalienable rights from God. Its theories are divisive, promoting envy and covetousness among groups of people.

Biblically ordered liberty is moral. But liberalism in any form (progressivism, socialism, social democracy, communism, state capitalism, regulationism, Islam)—and all other forms of aggressive utopian statism are forms of tyranny, which is immoral. All forms of nanny statism have as their root the need to control other people by edict rather than by conscience.

Christian capitalism is the most moral, leads to the most freedom, and produces the most economic benefits for society, and serves as the foundation for true compassion and virtuous society. Statism is inherently inefficient, produces little, takes resources from the productive economy, and is therefore detrimental to growth and the welfare of its people. Interference into business by the state or confiscation of profits usually makes it more difficult to both employers and employees to earn success. Its reliance on big government leads to reckless spending and inefficiency of resources, teaching lack of discipline by example, leading to ruinous decline of society.

Most folks can’t grasp that there is a powerful force behind liberalism, socialism, communism; et el.

That “force” is called by some: Lucifer.

Most don’t think he is real and that he has, and leads, a huge human and demonic organization that is setting up the world for the coming tribulation.

Actually its quite easy to explain...

ALL givernment is Mob Rule by mobsters.. all of it..
Its about how (or even IF) the mobs are controlled.. thats the problem..

Democrats(liberals) want the givernment to be controlled LESS..
Republicans want the givernment to have MORE control..

What most forget is we have three givernments here (federal, state and local)..
The same exact problem exists with all of them..

This compounds the problem.. even if you get one or two of them in control another can be out of control..
The nightmare is if all three are out of control.. like NOW...

Note.. THERE now that was easy wasn’t it?.. (go back to sleep)..

The Holy Trinity of Liberalism is Abortion, Secularism, and Income Redistribution.

For Liberals, Politics is their religion. Liberals say it’s all about “Fairness”, but as this author points out, it’s really just about Power.

In principle I agree with almost everything in the essay. IN particular that notion that welfare is not charitable. Charity is an act of the individual not of an organization. When an individual is compelled to pay for the welfare of others, it is compulsion, not an act of charity. But many on the left seem to think that paying taxes satisfies their need to be charitable because, sometimes, it goes to those less fortunate.

But I am concerned about this statement: What they really want is the destruction of institutions that promote true compassion and fairness—including the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Rule of Law, natural law, the Bible, or traditional values. Their goals are tyranny and cronyism—ultimately the obliteration of anything that gets in their way of their lust of power.

While there are a few liberals—especially those who hold some degree of power now and who want more—who are driven by the lust for power, I don't believe that is the case for the average liberal. I am not sure that "You are driven by your lust for power," is a particularly good way to begin a meaningful dialog with a liberal. I would argue that the real debate is about how to accomplish the actual goal of providing for those in need. I believe that the majority of liberals with whom I have dealt really do want to do something good, but they are simply mistaken that giving through the government is the answer.

Bringing light to the darkness seldom succeeds when it begins with an insult.

I hate to break it to you, but none of this has been a secret to any thinking person for, at least, the past 40 years.

That was my thought as I was reading the essay.
The author didn’t start from a basis of the spiritual battle and was trying to explain everything within the human and humanist domain.

You’ll not arrive at a full understanding unless you start from the right premise.

Yeah, a demonic worldview can prove a bit impervious to the arguments of truth.

Their problem is their inability to recognize the consequences of their actions. If something goes wrong, it’s always the fault of something else. What’s important to them is the intentions. They think they know what’s good for themselves and everyone else, and the means to get it are unimportant as long as the end is reached. What a wonderful world it would be, if everyone shared everything, if no one disagreed, and the idea of morality replaced by just whatever feels good. Who has the power to bring that about? Why, government, of course. Government can force their idea of utopia on everyone, without the need to convince them first. For their own good, of course. You can’t separate the end from the means, however. You can’t get anything except fascism by using fascism.

Liberalism has a creepy resemblance to a disease called Toxoplasmosis.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasmosis

The way the toxoplasmosis protozoa life-cycle is supposed to work requires that rodents infected by the protozoa be eaten by cats. But because rodents don’t want to be eaten by cats, they are naturally repelled by the smell of cat urine and the appearance of cats.

So the protozoa performs a unique trick. In the rodent’s brain, it can detect the chemicals produced when the rodent is afraid. Then it emits enzymes that make the rodent’s brain produce dopamine, that stimulate the pleasure center of the brain.

In this way, instead of being repelled by things it is and should be afraid of, the protozoa retrains the rodent’s brain to be attracted to them. So the rodent is attracted to the smell of cat urine, and the presence of the cat that is going to destroy it. It will even run towards its destroyer, because doing so feels good.

Importantly, the brain of a rodent, in many ways, is not very different from the brain of a human being. But why does this matter?

Because it is estimated that because of cat feces and undercooked meat, some 11 million Americans have the toxoplasmosis protozoa in their bodies.

So how does this relate to liberalism?

Think of the hostile people in the world who want to destroy America. Why are liberals attracted to them and do not want us to defend ourselves against them? People they should be at least somewhat afraid of them, but instead they are attracted to them, and seek to give them aid and comfort, even encouragement to attack us.

But even just in the US, why are liberals so opposed to things that are patriotic and conducive to prosperity and abundance, and are attracted to things that hurt themselves and others? Why do they seek to replace freedom with tyranny, wealth for poverty, civility for bitter racism and sexism, and success for lower mediocrity and failure?

Instead of being filled with kindness and love of their countrymen, why are they filled to overflowing hatred and envy?

And why do they abuse themselves so, with things like drugs, unwholesome sexual behavior, and an underlying current of murderousness to the unborn and the elderly?

While some liberals are no doubt naturally that way, what if the very core of their substance comes not from them, but from a protozoa?

Liberalism requires the emphasis on the emotional, and hatred plays a very important role for the left.

That evil like that emotional hatred we see from the left, can be identified by the negativity it creates is no coincidence. Neither is the fact that power, and to seek to have and increase power over others is evil. As well as the wholesale rejection of religion, and specifically Christianity, is no coincidence.

Very powerful forces are at work behind the scenes, let there be no doubt. Morally weakening our culture over the last 50 years has led to this, and that trend is accelerating. How else could we have elected Obama?

Because everything about Progressive Liberalism can be explained by the infantile. Given control over others, an infant will generally become tyrannical. Given the choice, infants choose friends,... cronies. Natural, when you are an infant, not an adult. Infants are completely emotional, yet incapable of rational decisions.

The similarities are pretty eerie. What else could compel liberals to be both personally and nationally self-destructive? Such behavior is irrational.

I was rather horrified in learning that when both North Korea and Iran were redoubling their efforts to create ICBMs, the response of the Democrats was to redouble their efforts to stop all forms of US missile defense, canceling several effective and promising systems. Their pathetic rationalization of why?: Because being able to defend ourselves from enemy missiles would be “provocative”.

And yet people readily dismiss suggestions by some that Democrats are actively trying to destroy America. Why? Because it would be insane for them to do that.

But what if they truly are mentally ill, under the control of some brain parasite, their moral compass turned upside down by microorganisms in their brains, forcing them to do things no sane person would do?

They’re all so in concert, it seems no coincidence to me either. What they don’t realize is that ultimately, no one is their own master; we all march to the beat of a distant drum. In that sense, they’re unable to see the motivation behind their own actions, because they refuse to look that far.
