VA Dem Doug Wilder at Romney Fundraiser

A potentially large change of events as former Virginia Governor Doug Wilder appeared at a Romney fundraiser today. This came after his criticism of Joe Biden for his "chains" comments the other day. According to Pajamas Media, Wilder (D-VA) was a surprise guest and was introduced by current Governor Bob McDonnell at the fundraiser in Richmond, VA.

Wilder had said that slavery was not something for Biden to joke about:

There was a fund raising event at the downtown Richmond Marriott this evening that included $5,000 a plate dinner featuring Paul Ryan and Bobby Jindal. If Doug Wilder was there, this is Hugh.

It will affect dramatically affect independents and demoralize the marginal Dims. I will learn more later. Nice coup by Governor McDonnell.

Huge! Wilder is still very well respected in Virginia and could have won a second term as Governor if it was allowed. He has lost some edge recently due to his time as Mayor of Richmond and the failure of the Slavery Museum that he was in charge of.
