Who in their right mind would believe Obama and pals?
"Thanks for the note" -- but no thanks.
That was the response Friday from the Romney team after Obama's campaign manager tried once again to wrench more tax documents from the Republican president candidate, this time by offering to refrain from criticizing Mitt Romney's transparency if he agrees to release five more years of returns.
Romney campaign manager Matt Rhoades wrote a brief email to Obama campaign manager Jim Messina dismissing the offer.
"Thanks for the note. It is clear that President Obama wants nothing more than to talk about Governor Romney's tax returns instead of the issues that matter to voters, like putting Americans back to work, fixing the economy and reining in spending," he wrote. "If Governor Romney's tax returns are the core message of your campaign, there will be ample time for President Obama to discuss them over the next 81 days."
This is one of those head slap moments. Obama wants Romney to release more tax records and they double pinkie promise not to bring up his taxes anymore.
I'm sure after scouring his taxes they will all of sudden say 'Hey! I guess Romney DID pay his fair share. We'll actually talk about my failed economy now'

Liberals think Obama only lies to everyone else.
Obama ALREADY knows what is in those returns, you can bet.
If I were Romney, I’d be saying “I’ll show ya mine, if you show me YOURS!”. But, I’ll bet he’s saving that for the first debate.
Anyone who doesn’t think Obama has already looked at Romney’s tax records hasn’t heard about Jack Ryan’s divorce records. Now, they just need to come up with a cover story for releasing them to the public. Maybe a rogue IRS agent?
Did you know that if your hand is larger than your face you are more likely to get cancer some time in your life? Go ahead, try it!
This is by far the worse Presidential campaign I ever saw by an incumbent.
Romney doesn’t trust Obama?...Neither does more than half of America!
It is refreshing to have a GOP campaign that fights back.
Zero campaign looking pretty weak about now. Keep up the agressive assault, never let them off the ropes.
I've seen highschool Student Body Presidential campaigns run with more substance by an incumbent.
"If you re-elect me, I'll shorten the school year, extend the lunch period, make sure everybody passes all their classes, shorten the school day and make spring break an extra week longer. Tests and homework are to be outlawed if you re-elect me as your Student Body President."
The only blood I’ve been seeing is Obama’s and it’s mostly been self-inflicted. I keep wondering how in the world these people ever got Obama a win over Hillary.
“Throw away your gun and we will fight mano-o-mano!”
“Okay.” (Throws away gun)
Bang! Bang! Bang!
“Hey! No fair! You shot me!”
“I shot you because you stupidly threw away your gun! Stupid people deserve to die!”
Nice point of reference there. You are correct.
Toothy grins and subterfuge bested Hillary, right after the black fact which took her out among her super delegate electoral voters. Yikes.
I trust President Obama -- to do and say whatever he considers likely to help him to get reelected. Whether what he does harms the nation and whether what he says it is true or false don't matter to him.
Put him on the defense, do not respond to his offense
I would say refer to the IRS having had Romney's tax returns all of his life, with no problems noted
However, democrats have been known to pervert the IRS into a political weapon
But .. what about the ad run by the Obama camp the evening of the day Romney talked about paying 13% taxes .. but the ad said 14% - so where did the ad people get that number ..???? The IRS ..?? If so, the Obama camp just committed a criminal act.
I doubt anybody in the media has the guts to call them on it.
Romney thinks that Obama is merely a very nice Black Man ... who merely needs an MBA-brush-up course at Harvard ...
You don’t really believe that do you?
I have never spoken to Mr. Romney but I have spoken to Orin Hatch whom I would expect to say the same thing “in public”. But in private he told me that Obama was the worst thing that ever has happened to the office of president of the US. That he is a communist who wants to tear this country apart so he can put it back to gether in the image of communism.
If Hatch knows this and will even verbalize it to me a total stranger then all the Republicans know it, heck that means all of Washington DC knows it.
These people want some independents to vote for them, heck Romney might even get some black and Hispanic votes, but not if calls Obama what he is. In politics you can’t go calling a spade a spade or you lose.
