The Coming Turnaround in 2012
JEFFHEAD.COM ^ | 17 August 2012 | Jeff Head

Posted on 08/17/2012 9:51:02 AM PDT by Jeff Head

In order to defeat Barack Hussein Obama in November of 2012, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will need to garner support from as broad a base as possible, within the constraint of the fundamental moral and republican principles that lay at the root of our Republic and its constitution, upon which this Republic has thrived for well over 225 years.

As this list shows, in the most important election of our life time, where the failed big government, statist policies rooted in socialism and marxism represented by Barack Hussein Obama which are not only failing us, but destroying us, are pitted against the Hamiltonian and Jeffersonian constitutional republican principles of the Free Market, individual liberty, state's rights...it appears that Romney/Ryan is finding that support.

Look at this list and see how broad a spectrum they span and understand, that in today's world, with today's society, that span is necessary (again within those fundamental constraints) to decisively win and govern our nation.

List of Notable Endorsements for Romney/Ryan:

Sarah Palin
Rand Paul
Rick Santorum
Michelle Bachman
Herman Cain
Mitch McConnell
Darrell Issa
Mike Huckabee
John Bolton
Nancy Reagan
Jim Demint
John Lehman
Condoliza Rice
George Shultz

Geroge W. Bush
Bob McDonnell
Newt Gingrich
Rick Perry
Christine O'Donnell
Rudi Guliani
Dick Cheney
Nikki Hailey
John Mccain
Marco Rubio
Jeb Bush
John Portman
Paul Palenty
John Huntsman
Chris Christie

Critical Romney/Ryan Endorsements

The Romney/Ryan Vision of America

Romney/Ryan intend to cut Federal Regulations, cut Corporate and individual taxes, eliminate unnecessary and burdensome federal waste and programs (like ObamaCare), cut Federal Spending and Programs, reform necessary programs, embolden and allow private industry to rebuild the Free Market, stop using the Federal Government to abjectly interfere with and infrinfge on Institutions, Businesses amd individual's Free Speech and Religious convictions, established a blanced budget, put in place a plan to eliminate America's shameful and massive 16 trillion dollar debt, get out of the government ownership of large segments or corporations within the free market, support the Defense of Marriage Act, nominate strict constitutionalists to the bench in general and the Supreme Court in particular, ensure ISrael is defended and stop Iran's nuclear ambitions, bolsters America's military defenses, defend America's borders, stop extending citizen rights to criminals who have violated our soveriegnty, send illegal alines back home to get in line like everyone else for entry into this country, develop America's vast energy reserves including oil, gas, coal and nuclear, hold China and other foriegn governments to task for their unfair, government subsdidized trade and monetary polcieis, open up federal lands for energy exploration, move towards American energy independence, and re-emphasize the traditional moral values at the heart of our liberty and Constitutional Republic.

See all of the Romney/Ryan positions on the issues at the following site:

Mitt Romney on the Issues

These actions will create, in relative short order, a massive turn around in America's economic situation producing a literal hiring bonanza. Suc a turnaround will probably start with the enrgy sector, but extending from there. As with Reagan, the difference will be so marked as to lead to a complete laandslide election in 2016 as Americans vote for their own prosperity and freedoms which will so amply be on display at the end of the first four years of a Romney/Ryan administration.

Then imagine, after eight years of the same, another eight years under a Ryan administration advancing and strengthening the same principles and values and re-establishing that "Shinging City on a Hill," envisioned by Ronald Reagan.

The Obama/Biden Vision of America

Contrast this the Obama administration and its progressive/socialistic/marxistic policies of no budget (much less a balanced one), continuing/endless massive deficits and debt growing at a faster rate than any other administration (or two and three administrations combined) in history, 16 trillion dollars in current debt (enough if single dollars bills were stacked on top of each other to reach to the monn and back..TWICE!) - another 6 trillion the last four years by Obama alone, the destruction of the free market, massive failed stimulus plans where tax payer dollars were used to pay back crony supporters of the Obama administration, the longest and highest sustained un- and under-employment rate since the Great Depression, embarrasment abroad as American allies are pushed away and embarassed openluy while America's enemies have been out and out supported and even embraced, an absolutely porous national border, a debilitating energy policy that is intent and with a will driving whole sectors of American energy production out of business, the trampling of the rule of law by an executive who is literally over-riding congress and ruling by executive fiat (reference the DOMA, unilaterally granting legality to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, over-riding Welfare regulation established by Congress in law, etc., etc.), illegally running guns to Mexican Drug cartels in the hopes of more gun violence so new gun laws can be imposed and where American law enforcement agents have been killed by those guns and the whole thing sought to be covered up by the Attorney General and the President. See:

MURDERGATE: Eric Holder and Fast and Furious

Consider that more American are now on Welfare than ever in history, more American now live in poverty than ever in history, more Americans pay absolutely no tax for their own support than ever in history, more Americans are now under or un-employed and for a longer stretch of time than ever before in American history, more American businesses have moved off-shore to escape excessive regulation and tax than ever before in American history, the Corporate taxes in America are now the highest in the entire world. Then, consider the following list of disgraceful and dispicable "firsts" for any President in American history:

Obama's Tragic "Firsts" As President

Since there is absolutely nothing in his record during the last four years to run on, either financially, economically, job creation, foreign policy, the borders, etc. to point to and run on...the Obama administration has descended into one of, if not the, most negative and vitriolic campaigns in American history. He is telling his crowds that the republicans want dirty air and water for their children (meaning those people he is talking to), that Romney wants children with Downs syndrome to "fend for themselves," that the Romney/Ryan budget will harm the eldrely by robbing them of their medicare...when the actual truth (which is out there for all to read if people will just do it on their own) is that the Romney/Ryan plan protects anyone age 55 or over and leaves their plan intact, while overhauling the plan for younger citizens to privitize portions of it so it can become profiatable and sustainable so that there is a medicare program in the future, rather than letting it go bankrupt. In fact, worse than that, Barack Obama himself has raided the Medicare fund for over 700 billion dollars to help fund OBamaCare, thereby hastening the date when it would go bankrupt. But he does not mention that.

Obama and his campaign have actually accused Romney of being responsible for the death of a woman whose husband was laid off from a steel plant that Romney's company tried to save. But he was laid off two years after Romney left the company, and six years before the woman died...and the woman had her own health insurance through her place of employment even though the man had lost his. Such unbelievable out and out lies are all the Obama campaign has to sustain itself. Another one is, that somehow, even though he was a governor, and even though this is his second Presidential campaign and he is a very well known person, the Obama "team" is claiming that the reason Romney will not release more than two years of his tax returns (which is two years more than the law requires), that Romney is a felonious tax cheat and paid no taxes those other years...even though there is not a shred of evidence to back up such a claim, and even though the IRS would have long since found out if someone so prominant had not paid any taxes. Such claims are pure theatrical, malicious lies and distractions to keep people from talking about Obama's record...the essence of which he is trying everything he can to avoid talking about.

Sorry, Barrack Hussein Obama...it is not going to work. The American people are awake, and when it comes to America, her prosperity, her liberty, and her goodnes and greatness...with the help and grace of God, and without any thanks whatsoever to you and your ilk's absolutely failed policies, we know that when this thing is turned around, we will be able to bow our heads, and thank God and know, that with His help...YES WE DID BUILD THAT!

The Answer in 2012 - AMERICA AT THE CROSSROADS OF HISTORY

What a contrast between these two visions of America!

One is traditional American and focused on the Free Market (emphasis on "free") and on initiative, responsibility, accountability, self-governance, true compassion, and traditional American values. The other is focused on statism, compulsion, irresponsibility, and the will of a very few elitists deciding how the rest of us should live.

The hard truth is that another four years of the rapid and escallating descent into ruin that is being not only led, but encouraged, by the Obama administration could put the Republic in a place where it will be difficult, if not impossible, to recover from it in any single generation...if we can recover at all.

Is this what Americans want for themselves, their children, and grandchildren? The stakes could not be higher...literally the future of this nation and the future prosperity of our children and grandchildren. In November 2012, Americans will have a choice, and they will get to decide which of these visions they want for themselves, their families, and future generations.

God grant, that as with 2010, when a referendum on Obama's performance in his first two years produced the largest turnaround election in the history of U.S. mid-term elections, that the American people will stand and put an end to this tragedy and dispicable record and produce an even greater turnaround in 2012.

This election and the differing principles posted by the nominees stances on the critical issues of the day, has the makings for a pivotal election unlike any we have seen in our life time. Reagan-Carter comes the closests...but Carter, as hrrific and atrocious as he was, was nothing compared to Obama.

This is the mindset of those who pull Obama's strings:

"the soul...it must be broken...and the man is yours, you won't need a whip, he'll bring it to you and ask to be whipped...Make man feel small...kill his aspiration...kill integrity...you stop all incentive to....excellence...just say that reason is limited...suspend reason and...anything goes...not judgment but public polls...no individuality will be permitted...kill the individual."

Not so fast...

I spoke with a commerical banker and via Dodd-Frank they are scared of writing loans because they do not know if they will violate regulations that haven't been written. So does it repealed ASAP? One would hope...

In another conversation with a noted American that I cannot name, we discussed "the turnaround". Again it may take time was their answer (and not investment advice here) those in on the front of it might do rather well if they are willing to take the risk.

Obama and company have so FUBAR'd so many sectors of the economy and the way even goverment operates, I am skeptical of a massive turnaround on a dime, and I don't think we should get peoples hopes up only to have them dashed and hammer Romney/Ryan in the mid-terms.

I am not skeptical of "Capital" going off strike after 1/21/2012 however....

Agreed that it will take time...but if they jumpp start everything with energy in a big way, and quickly move to remove oppresive regulations and lower corporate taxes as they promise...I believe it will occur much more quickly than we otherwise might think. A LOT of businesses are sitting on investments and waiting to see if Obama goes away...if he does, and if Romney shows the signs of doing what he promises, they will open the coffers rapidly.

What's so chilling about this little snippet is that it precisely reflects the intent of the monsters in and beyond the white House. My corollary to this is that it is nothing less than a reflection of the will to power - the desire to rule and ultimately, to kill without conscience or consequence. This is the spectre that haunts the modern world.

People here in America have no idea just how precarious their existence has become. No idea at all.

It will take a decade(s) to recover, the economic numbers are just horrendous both here and globally. Japan, Europe, US are all bankrupt from Eurosocialism and Keynesianism.

Certainly Obama must go, but Romney is not a god.

Jeff, this race is much more like 1940 ~ Roosevelt vs. Willkie ~ than any seen since.

The key to winning, as always, is to get your party base to TURN OUT TO VOTE for you. If you can do that you will almost always beat the other guy.

If you can't, you lose.

So, is there some reason Republicans should vote for a Democrat that we don't know about? Must be a secret here.

The only real polls that count are the voting.

I am speaking of the ones who created the largest mid-term turnaround election in history in 2010.

The people who ensured that their Governor, who was doing exactly the opposite of what Obama prescribed, remained in office in Wisconsin by a larger majority than the elected him there in the 1st place.

Thoes people...those Americans.

I disagree. I think it is much closer to Carter-Reagan in 1980.

In that case the base did turn out, but a whole bunch of people crossed over and voted against Carter who was messing up so bad that the impact was felt by all Americans...and most of them responded accordingly. Those folks who were democrats became known as the "Reagan Democrats".

As bad as Obama's record is. As many peope, even people who voted for him initially, as have been hurt by his policies and his refusal to not only back off away from them, but to double down on them after the 2010 elections...given that hurt that is being felt across the nation, I believe we have the chance to see the same thing happen in 2012.

Three months will tell us.

Good to see you on the thread!

People here in America have no idea just how precarious their existence has become. No idea at all.

You know that I'm not much of an optimist anymore, but I am actually beginning to see a bit more of an awakening (of sorts) over the past year or so. Certainly not the type of numbers necessary, but at least some of the fog seems to be lifting a bit. At this point I suppose that I am grasping at straws, but at least I am seeing some small steps in the right direction!

Read “The Forgotten Man”. Amity Shlaes talked about the 1940 election. Willkie was running the 1936 race again yet FDR had already moved away from the New Deal and started to talk about the coming World War. In fact, the Schechter brothers came out in support of FDR.

Yes, I agree - there are signs of an awakening. The turnouts at Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day took everyone by surprise. The truth is that there's a growing sense of "fed up" with all this statist nonsense, this bullying political correctness.

BTW, check out the last entries in the killers without conscience thread. I've posted some chapter headings. BTW, you're on the editorial board. Manuscript headed your way once it's got to that point.

Reagan had the votes before the primaries were run ~ he'd succeeded in slicing off a faction from the Democrats on a more permanent basis ~ the Deep South white folks (who'd voted for Nixon two times before), and part of another faction called Roman Catholics. I think that one involved mostly the Catholic business class people, but he did it.

Caught the Democrats flat footed.

The winning margin came from INCREASED Republican turn out though.

The next big race where the winning candidate depended primarily on increased turnout of the existing base was Obama v. Hapless ~ as we recall Hapless got fewer votes than Bush, and barely more than Lurch!

That was simply pitiful.

The GOP-e failed to notice that somebody didn't show up to vote in 2008 ~ namely a huge chunk of the Republican base. They should have examined the entrails (Augery is an art suitible to politics) and figured out who had to be ENCOURAGED to show up in Republican voting contests.

Then, next thing you know, the Kook squad in Virginia rigged it so only Ron Paul and Mitt Romney got to run!

That pretty much carved the heart out of the Super Tuesday Primary series. Virginia saw a record low number of voters in that one.

Besides having to make up for Obama's 10 million vote lead last time, the Mittbots have to figure out how to get the 10 million people they discouraged from voting at all to show up and vote for a guy they don't like, and then see if they can get over 50% +1 vote in the Electoral votes.

Despite what the pollsters are telling you about relative popularity, the most important figure is the folks who will actually vote this year ~

The RNC chairman during the 2010 blowout was, of course, immediately fired by the GOP-e because of that victory. A Mittbot was put in his place, presumably to take us back to a situation where we will always lose.

This has given me pause for even beginning to think the Republican party pros know what is going on or how to win elections.

Outwardly, yes, but the demographics have changed dramatically in 32 years, as well as the number of people on the dole. So the number of "Romney Dems" will be limited; however, I am not predicting an Obama win. The tide does seem to be turning.

This election is going to be a test for all of us. On the one hand, no one here can really abide Romney, and many are tired of having to accept the squishy establishment Republican as “the least worst” option. If enough of the base take this view, then Obama and those holding his puppet strings will indeed take the opportunity to dismantle the last remnants of the old republic. And then our choices will be much less appealing than they are now.

Further, stopping Obama is merely in the “necessary but insufficient” category. Even in ousting this administration is simply buying a bit of time to begin the real work of restoring liberty and prosperity and the rule of law. That’s a daunting task, and worse, it’s not really all that exciting or fun; it’s just hard work. But we retain powerful, resilient structures and cultural requirments for liberty to prevail; this can be done, the only question is if we have the willingness to act.

Libertarians and conservatives have focused for too long on their differences, and it’s time to put that aside for brief truce. We agree on limited government, the fundamental right to arms, the oppressive over-reach of seventy years of commerce clause lawlessness, economic liberty, personal responsibility, the list goes on and on. One hopes that we can stop the slide, and that we’ll have a Republic to squabble over in the coming four years.

It’s not true! I just read somewhere, (maybe “Twitter”? “My Space”, or one of those sites.)that it’s not true, and it’s also not true that one of his daughters turned Democrat! It was on either her own, or her Dad’s account, that she denied she went Democrat. She also debunked the rumor that her Dad was going to speak at Dem. convention. I was trying to see if it was true, I was wondering what happened to him! But by his daughter’s own words, he is not speaking there, and she’s not going Democrat, herself! If I’m wrong, I’ll go back and read again. This is just a rumor, and has been debunked.

Well, Huntsman supported Romney with these words after he dropped out of the race:
"I believe it is now time for our party to unite around the candidate best equipped to defeat Barack Obama. Despite our differences and the space between us on some of the issues, I believe that candidate is Governor Mitt Romney. This is the most important election of our lifetime.”.

Here's where he said it: Huntsman Endorses Romney

So, I find it highly doubtful at all that he would speak for the Dems...in fatc, this is the first I have heard of it. Can you source such a claim?

Amen to every bit of that...but I believe, if we are successful in getting a strong House and Senate...and not just in numbers, but in the quality of the new resp...Tea Party reps, then I believe there is a good chance that Romney will surprise us all.

He will want to do what that majority indicates. He will “go along,” because it will not only be very hard to stand against, but because his own business policies will be able to be applied and make a big difference in the turnaround...which he would then get a lot of credit for, and be elected to a second term.

At least I hope and pray that is the case.

Romney/Ryan will...eliminate unnecessary and burdensome federal waste and programs (like ObamaCare), cut Federal Spending and Programs,

Will believe when seen. Lots of standard political promises in the list.

"Repeal & Replace" is not eliminating ObamaCare and I believe this is a sign I've seen Romney campaign behind.

If it is repealed, then it is off the books and done. If it is replaced with a different plan...and that is the key, a different plan altogether and not a revised plan...then the deed is done.

That will depend more on the House and Senate than it will on Romney however...it is their job.

That is why we simply MUST vote in a strong majority in the House and Senate...and not just in numbers, but in the type of Reps. They simply must be Tea Party types who are going up there to clean house, take no prisoners, and not go along to get along.

If we do that, they will bring Romney along and he will come because a huge turnaround will be happening, very positive for the whole country...and he will want to be seen as a big part of it. And if he does...then rightfully so and all the better.

One thing is for sure..with Obama in there as President, these things will not happen.

No question. The down-ticket races are, in many ways, the more important issue this year. Capitol Hill needs to be fire hosed, bleached and fumigated!

Two words - Senate and filibuster. The Democrats are going to spend the next four years doing what the Republicans have spent the last four years doing - ensuring that the guy in the White House is a one-termer. Romney/Ryan will have a hard time accomplishing much of what you’re hoping for.

All depends on the numbers my friend, and the size of the victory we pull off. We shall see.

Thanks for the link...am looking at it now.

If true, and he does this, then Hunstman has gone truly off his rocker.

OTOH, he was Obama's Ambassador to China, and if he were to get up there and talk about his experience in China and then say, that although he "likes" Barrack Obama, he will be endorsing and supporting Mitt Romney for president, it could have a wholly different effect.

...ok, read it now. Huntsman has not confirmed any of this and it's been a week since the report. The sources are unnamed (always leary of that), and Hunstman's daughter is apparently going public claiming it is all a lie.

So, I am unconvinced, and I will believe it when I see it, or Hunstman himself confirms it...in the mean time, he has not retracted his endorsement of Romney, and by the wording, it would be a hard one for him to do.

Yes, Chick-fil-A was an eye-opener for sure. (We drove about 45 minutes to the closest location but couldn't eat because the place was mobbed and we couldn't wait 90-120 minutes based on our schedule.)

If you recall I've mulled over the effect of the “push-push-push” for the past few years. It was either just going to grind everyone down and completely de-sensitize the populace with a daily dose of low-grade tyranny, or it was going to ultimately wake people up. The pressure of the jackboot on the accelerator pedal was the main variable at play. From my perspective it seems that the daily grind was working “well” (from their perspective) for quite some time. When they crossed over into hammering hard on religious liberty issues, I think that was the point that a lot more awakening has occurred. (Combined with the crumbling economy that can no longer even be spun into anything palatable.) Too little, too late? As you say, we will soon find out.

I'll check those KWC posts later this evening, thanks. Also, looking forward to anything that I can do to help with the manuscript, you know where to find me (very glad to hear that it is moving along!).
