Akin: Hyenas in the GOP ignore medical science, eat their own
Rightly Concered Blog on American Family Association ^ | 8/22/2012 | Bryan Fischer

Posted on 08/22/2012 7:43:13 PM PDT by JediJones

The slavering, slobbering hyenas in the Republican party, by tearing at the flesh of their own senatorial candidate Todd Akin, are doing their best to blow their shot at taking control of the Senate. By eating their own, they are consuming themselves. And they seem too brainless to know it.

If he loses this race, it will be the fault of party poobahs, not Todd Akin. One of the party leaders actually suggested last night that the GOP try to run a third-party challenge to their own candidate. That would be a certifiably guaranteed way to forfeit victory to the opposition.

Akin’s words, for which he apologized even though he had no need to, were right. He was entirely correct to say that pregnancies in cases of forcible rape are rare.

He did not, by the way, say that pregnancy was impossible in rape, just rare.

How about the New York Times, the Bible of [left-wingers]? “Lowering Stress Improves Fertility Treatment.”

Said Dr. Domar, “If you’re really stressed out and depressed, the body seems to sense that’s not a good time to get pregnant.” Hmm. Sound suspiciously like the body shutting down, no?

Todd Akin uses one word that was grossly misinterpreted by his enemies, and the members of his own party throw his carcass to the jackals.

Now that Akin has decided to stay in...as he should, ignoring the hysterical bellows and the pitchforks, the ruling class Republicans will have to eat some crow and reverse themselves by resuming support for Akin’s candidacy. Certainly they cannot be so stupid as to commit hari-kiri by withholding help because they’re in some kind of snit. Can they?

The lesson from all of this: if you’re a Republican, and you want a friend in the party, you’d better buy a dog.

whew, a peer reviewed medical journal doing a specific study on rape and conception. The American College Of Obstetrics and Gynecology can stand by Akin.

What a bunch of nonsense. Akin is a clueless political hack who cannot articulate a reasoned pro life position and is completely incapable of winning a state wide election in Missouri.

He is joined in his quest for loser immortality by others who aspire to being beaten by one of the worst Senators to ever trod the floors of the Upper Chamber. Missouri has plenty of true Conservatives who can carry our banner proudly and high. We don’t need to back this moron.

This guy is a far bigger idiot than Akin. At least Akin sounded sincere and heartfelt in his ignorance of science - and even admitted so.

A dog would be a better candidate than Doorstop Akin... Hey you American Family Association, either get on board for a win or keep gumming “legitimate rape” with Akin and sink to the bottom of the sea.

I don't understand this guy's logic, or Akin's for that matter, the "oh woe is me" mea culpa. Akin did this to himself, nobody else did it to him, he was asked a question that is pretty much standard for any pro-life Republican running for office. Even worse, Akin is hardly a neophyte, he's a career politician, been in politics since like 1988 or something like that, a long long time to learn to apply a filter to what you're saying.

He blew it, plain and simple. Not everyone is cut out for prime-time, my only hope is that Akin doesn't say any more audacious nonsense for the rest of this campaign season.

Now c'mon, surely Bryan Fischer is a well educated physician, most likely an OB/GYN I'm guessing.

"Fischer has an undergraduate degree in philosophy from Stanford University, and holds a graduate degree in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary."

Oh, nevermind, whoops. Anyone writing an article in defense of Akin at this point, especially such a shoddy written article, is only doing the left a favor to keep on linking the attacks to other Republicans.

Akin is now a national hero for courage under witless criticism. He has emerged now as a hero to millions. He will be loved and revered for countless decades as Senator Akin and as a fearless Marine and American for life.
You folks that want to criticize his correct statement — do you want to kill the baby for that alleged “rape” in the back seat? Is that what you want?

>”If he loses this race, it will be the fault of party poobahs, not Todd Akin”<

If Akin had kept his ignorant mouth shut, the discussion would center around Obama’s failed Economy and Slow Joe's Circus Act. Now we may lose a slam dunk chance to pickup a Senate Seat and other Republicans Races are in jeopardy including getting control of the Senate. We may have to rename Akins “Mr. Obamacare”.

Mr. Akin is the only one responsible for his fate. What a Political novice this guy is. He is a hero in his own mind.

Women get pregnant all the time from rape. To pretend otherwise is being willfully stupid.

They also get Sexually transmitted diseases. I suppose some people think we should withhold treatment for that..

This fool (atkins) is single handily changing the dynamics of the race. The dems want to talk about anything other than the economy and this dope has given them an issue on a silver platter.

Just think of how much damage Obama will do in the next 4 years if reelected.

The stress these articles talk about is long term cumulative stress which can create anything from insomnia to coronaries. None of these articles states that acute immediately stressful situations shut down reproductive systems. And Akin’s implication is that in most cases a rape that results in pregnancy was not a traumatic rape i.e.an attack.
